Sahara is a 3 year old female Retriever mix. Sahara is cute, sweet and loves to be goofy and get all the attention. She is catching on to things here fast, so she is a smart one, loves her treats and is looking for someone to love her and not give up on her! Our adoption hours are Tuesday-Friday 3-6PM and 1-5PM on the weekends. We are located in Burlington, Iowa. All dog adoptions include a health exam, Rabies, DHPP and Distemper vaccinations, Heartworm check, Sterilization and post surgical pain medication. All cat adoptions include A health check up, FLV and FiV screening, FVRCP and rabies vaccinations, sterilization with pain medications. Story
We adopted Chloe in Hawaii when both my wife and I were stationed there. Chloe was a bundle of joy, the happiest puppy you ever saw, ready to take on stuffed alligators three times her size. Her sheer will to see something through, no matter how mischievous, defines her strength. In December of 2024, we had Chloe for about a year when we transitioned from Hawaii to Iowa. Chloe was too big to go into the cabin, rode in cargo, and arrived in Iowa a day before myself. Whatever happened to Chloe was life-changing. We’ve had multiple trainers, medication, and remedies, but nothing seems to be working. Chloe needs someone with the experience, time, and ability to give her what she needs, as her quality of life is greatly diminished with us. She deserves so much more. Chloe, 2 years old, is reactive to: Humans Other dogs Small animals Knocks on doors People outside when she is inside *She has never bitten, but she has seen her brother attacked twice by the neighbor’s pit bull.
