Old Yeller, is that a new trend? Old stuff made NEW?? Cause I am NOT old, although I am Yeller, a really pretty YELLER COLOR!!! :) I am a Yeller Chesapeake bay retriever/ YELLER lab mix, it is important for my new family to know about the Chesapeake bay breed. We can be very stubborn, smart and independent and I really like to be in charge, so my new family needs to be strong leaders too. I am a handsome bloke, with swirls of yellow and white all through my coat. I am very smart and very sweet. I can from a high kill shelter with no hope- Now I EXUDE hope!! And LOVE!!! I WAS heartworm positive but have already finished the treatment and am NEGATIVE and just stay on prevention for the rest of my life. I am good with other dogs, but really would be best in an only dog home, cause I want all the attention :) I LOVE MY people and I tend to take "control" of my home so have to have a couple of things... 1) STRONG leadership owner, 2) I have to have an owner who will be wiling to not let me meet everyone who visits.. I want to protect my home a little too much... and 3) I have to stay in the San Antonio/TX area so my rescue friends can keep close tabs on me and how i am doing :) I have been running and playing since I am safe, but really am a couch potato. I am a bigger boy and about 65-70#. Look me up, get my number, text or call me OR just APPLY to ADOPT ME!!! I will be waiting by the phone!!! Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX)

Story
Meet Ash! This lively, friendly girl would love nothing more than to find a family of her own. She has been one of the longer residents at our shelter and is often overlooked due to her active personality. Once she is away from the hustle and the bustle of the shelter, she really is a super sweet girl! She enjoys spending time relaxing in the shelter manager's office while she works on paperwork. Ash does great would other dogs and kids. In fact, we think she would do best in a home with another dog to help keep her company while her family is away. Ash unfortunately likes to chase cats so would do best in a home without them. If you're interested in meeting Ash please reach out to us!

Where are all our scruffy dog lovers at?? Meet Sophie! This sweet pup is a Labrador Retriever/Jack Russell Terrier mix. She is about full grown and weighs approximately 30lbs. She isn't spayed yet but will be prior to going to her forever home. She can be a little shy initially but once she gets to know you she is an absolute cuddlebug. Not only is she a cuddlebug, but she's also a goofy girl. She'll keep you laughing all day long. She does well with other dogs. We haven't tested her with cats yet but can do so upon request! Due to her age she would benefit from getting consistent exercise but once she's been out to play she's a very well behaved girl. We would love for you to come meet Sophie! She'd love to get out of the shelter and start spending the summer with her family.
