Story
Meet Lance Hi, my name is Lance! I’m a big boy – about 75 pounds – and am a bit of a mix as far as my relatives go. We think I’m between 2 and 3 years old. I love long walks, playing fetch (ball, stick or frisbee, I’m not particular) and, of course, TREATS! I’m neutered, microchipped and up-to-date with all my vaccinations. I’m also crate trained and sleep in there very peacefully. My foster parents are teaching me good leash skills and are also perfecting my housetraining and my understanding of commands. They say I’m sweet, super-smart and am especially gifted at snuggling. My most favorite place to be is in your lap! I’m up for a good belly scratch any time and most days are not complete without a short zoomie session before bed. A fenced in yard or a multi-acre plot would be my ideal home situation because I’m still a young boy with lots of energy to spare. I absolutely love to run around and chase birds! I’m actually fascinated by all types of wildlife, including squirrels and deer, and can often be found staring out my foster parents’ back window keeping notes on all the duck, swan and goose traffic on their pond. I get along well with humans but am still getting used to my own size so I would do best in a home with children over the age of 10. I definitely like other dogs and am always up for a playdate but am still a little unsure about cats. Lance's adoption fee is $300.00. Story
Have you ever wanted a lab mix that was actually the size of a lap dog? Or a dog with a tail curlier than an Arby’s curly fry? If so, Frisco might be the little man for you!Not much is known about Frisco’s life before coming to the shelter, but he found himself in a shelter in San Benito, Texas hoping someone would take him home. Project Hope scooped up this cutie and got him into a foster home in Texas before he made his way to Michigan.Frisco is an extremely sweet and affectionate boy who loves to be cuddled up next to you whenever possible. Although he is small and young, he is very brave and curious. Frisco is always eager to try new things even when he is feeling a bit timid, especially when he has the encouragement of either treats or confident dogs to help him along the way. You can often find him curled up in the sun porch basking in the sun, on the couch or dog bed cuddled up, or sniffing around the yard. His foster family loves how quiet and calm he is but also his never-ending enthusiasm to enjoy each day.Frisco is also an intelligent boy who already knows sit, wait, and come; is fully crate trained and potty trained; and walks extremely well on a leash. He currently lives with 2 other foster siblings, one who is similar to his size and a larger dog. His favorite thing is when they all get the zoomies and chase each other around the yard. Although his current Michigan foster does not have cats, Frisco has done well with cats when he was with his Texas foster.Frisco is 33 pounds and about 9 months old and will be an amazing addition to someone’s family. If you have any questions or concerns about him, please email us at projecthoperescue@gmail.com. Story
Meet Skymir!Your 40-pound bundle of joy, wagging his way into your heart!Hi there! I’m Skymir — a lively, 1.5-year-old male black Lab mix with a heart full of love and a tail that never quits. I weigh about 40 pounds and carry a perfect mix of sweetness, smarts, and silliness. My story began in a southern shelter, where I ended up all alone as a puppy. It was a scary time, but a kind-hearted rescuer saw something special in me and gave me a second chance. Now I'm thriving in Michigan (near Coldwater!) and looking for my forever family to share all of life’s adventures. Here’s what you’ll love about me:* I’m playful, affectionate, and full of wiggles—especially when I see my foster siblings!* Give me a good, hard bone and I’m in heaven.*Squirrel-chasing? Yes, please!* I’m a smart cookie who learns fast, especially when treats are involved.* I love cozy mornings in my crate and sunbathing on warm afternoons. While I can be a little shy at first, I warm up quickly with a gentle touch and kind words. I’m working on my manners (sometimes I get too excited and jump up), but with a little patience and consistency, I’m learning every day.My dream home?A fenced-in yard would be perfect for all my zoomies and sniffari adventures! I’d do great with another playful pup or an active family who wants a loyal companion. I'm happiest when I'm with my people or four-legged friends—I'm not a fan of being alone for too long.If you're looking for a sweet, energetic buddy who will love you endlessly and make every day brighter, I might just be your guy.Let’s make forever happen — come meet me and fall in love!I’m fully-vetted, housebroken, crate-trained and ready to join your family with an adoption fee of $300. Questions? Shoot an email to projecthoperescue@gmail.com. Ready to make me a part of your family? Fill out an application by visiting our website at www.projecthoperescue.org.June 14, 2025, 5:21 pm
