Story
Meet Gibby - Fostered near Grand Rapids Breed: MIXED Breed DOB: Jan 12, 2025 Sex: Neutered male Weight: 52 pounds (on July 18) Projected adult weight approximately 90 pounds HI! I’m Gibby! My brothers and I came to APB from Kentucky where we were found on a roadside as little babies. My brothers got adopted but I’m still waiting for the RIGHT family to come along. Its mid October now, my brothers have had homes since early summer! :( No one knows who my parents are because all 3 of us look so different we had to do DNA. Mom says I’m a Big Ole Mutt. But she says I’m super cute and so soft, with great ears. My ears change with my mood...and Im not kidding! Sometimes I have labby ears and sometimes they go off to the sides and sometimes even almost all the way up! Mom says its the weirdest thing ever. They claim that I have almost 30% of bully breeds...but my foster mom says that’s crazy! I love cats, I love dogs, I love people, and I am even allowed in the horse barn to help with chores, but never in the horse pasture. Mom says not to cross that gate, so I don’t. We also have birds here, chickens and ducks and even baby ones. Mom says I am such a good boy because I don’t chase them. I don’t want to harm them and I sure don’t want to make the momma duck mad. She’s scary! I just steer clear of them. Maybe if a duck wants to play I’ll chase him for a second, but never to hurt him…just to play tag! We have deer here too, mom says I can’t bark at them or chase them either, so I don’t. She says “no, come” and I go back to her. I don’t want to be naughty I like to be a good boy! I still think barking at them is kinda fun...they need to know I’m big too! I am a good boy in my crate, but I sure do like to see the other doggies. I like to have friends! When mom gets into the cookie jar, I RUN to my crate and am quiet and comfy in it. It’s my special, safe, napping spot! I like my crate with my family though. Please don’t put me in a room alone! I will get all stressed out. My foster mom checks on me through those secret cameras and I’m usually just napping the day away, waiting for someone to come home so we can play. I would really like to have a doggy sibling, or someone who wants to be my BFF and have a shadow. I’ve never been alone so I’d like to keep it that way! I do love kids too! Just not little ones because mom says I’m “rude”. Whatever that means! I love all people, but sometimes I do get soooooo excited I might tinkle a little. Mom says I have to grow out of that sooner than later! I let other dogs take my toys and I like to take theirs too, and play tug, but I refuse to even let anyone think I’m sharing my food out of my own dish. That’s mine, and I am not afraid to tell them so, I might even try to take theirs if they’re not watching. I’d share with my humans though, if they wanted! I like going bye-bye and I walk good on a leash, but I am going to keep getting bigger and bigger so mom says I need to not pull! I don’t pull bad, but she says I’m not getting any smaller and to mind my manners, and I do try, so hard! She says that I would love obedience classes, even just for socialization and fun. I love to learn. She says I’m SO smart! We never took obedience classes but I know Come, Off, Down, Sit, Wait, and of course NO. I like going to fun stores and meeting new people! I haven’t found any dogs at those stores who want to let me climb on them, but I like to at least say HI. I want all of the people to say HI and pet me and give me cookies! It’s SO fun! If I get really excited I do tinkle, but mom says I’ll grow out of that…eventually. No one likes to get sprayed! I can’t help it, people are SO exciting!! I like to help mom play in the garden, she digs holes, and I dig better holes! Then I run and run and run some more. Water is fun too, I love getting muddy! I love playing in the water! Ponds, lakes, puddles, even the water dish can be fun! My foster mom says I need to find my own family, but it’s fun here – will you do fun things with me too, for the rest of my life? That sure would be nice! If you have any questions, please email tzupoomom@gmail.com . Our application can be found online at here. Animal Placement Bureau's standard adoption fee is $250.
