Story
Meet Petey! Petey is a vey loving and handsome Lab mix that was found as a stray. He is looking to bond and be someone's best friend! He has already become very attached to his foster mom and is stressed when she leaves him. He loves to hug and be snuggled with. Petey is high energy but one of those types that needs a quick burst of running and then is happy to settle down and chew on a toy beside his human BFF. He was clearly loved by someone and loves people. He would do well as a hiking buddy or even with agility. He would be best suited for a family or owner that can be home with him much of the time as he is adept at climbing a fence if left in a yard to hang out alone too long! Petey is about 1-2 years old, 60 pounds and heartworm negative. He has been neutered and micro chipped now. Petey is crate trained and house broken! From his foster mom: Petey, full of puppy-love at 60 pounds, is a highly athletic, energetic, water-loving, big-ole best friend kind o’ Boxer/Labrador boy. At two years old, he runs like the wind and leaps into the truck-bed in a single bound for treks around the farm fields. He has come a long way from being totally overwhelmed with separation anxiety - aftermath of being dumped and left in freezing weather totally alone. He has turned out to be a companion animal in every way. He is at perfect peace and happiness just being with his people and fellow-animal friends, including cats (with proper introduction). Once he enters the house, he settles quickly and rests at his person’s feet. This snuggle-bunny thinks all kids were designed to be his ‘besties’. Other dogs seem to find it difficult to take him seriously when he tries to act big-man dominate and at the same time holding his squeaky ragdoll in his mouth. He really has no idea of his size. When Petey gets to playing to rough, the foster’s 20-pound Chihuahua/Beagle mix can scold him and Petey will put on his best pout and try to be still. This joyfully irresistible, big brown-eyed, sweetheart is highly observant – he works to learn his people. If he thinks he is in trouble or has displeased his person, he becomes anxious and will tear up things if he is ignored or not reassured of being loved. Correct him, but love him. Hug him. Relieve him of any fear. That means the world to him. And, his smile is infectious. Petey is very trainable. He is a quick study and eager to please the people he grows to trust. Toys and a secure extra-large kennel to call his own keep him calm when you are away. Another dog-friend that would be his buddy is a good source of comfort for him. Being alone for extended periods of time will be detrimental to Petey’s psyche. Because Petey is so extraordinarily sociable, he shouldn’t be left alone in a fenced area, unless it has a cover. He will jump/climb over to find you and/or if someone or another animal passes by that surely needs his nonaggressive, let’s-play greeting. Petey is a work in progress and would need someone who truly wants to make him a part of the family. If you have much affection, attention, compassion and patience to offer, along with a desire to have an athletic canine companion, Petey may just be your dream come true. Petey is currently in TN but will be transported north to New England for adoption. The adoption donation is $300 which includes a health certificate and costs for his transport north. If you are interested in adopting one of our animals, please go to www.angelsamongusanimalrescue.org and fill out an online adoption application. Thank you! *Unless stated otherwise, all dogs will be spayed or neutered, on flea/tick product and heartworm prevention medicine (if older than 5 months) and micro chipped prior to adoption. *Please note that while we do our best to accurately state the breed or breed mix of a dog, we often have very limited information to draw from. Identifying the breed without pedigrees and information on heritage can be very challenging!

Story
Zena is a 6 year old lab mix. She was found chained up outside with her 9 newborn puppies at Sardis Lake. The puppies were scattered around during a heavy rainstorm, and she could not reach them. She was severely underweight and heartworm positive when she entered the rescue. She is now 50lbs and heartworm negative! She has come a long way. Zena is house trained, crate trained, and knows how to use a doggy door. She is very loving and craves attention from her people, so she would be fine as an only dog. She does get along well with her furry siblings in the foster home, but she does take time to warm up, so we recommend slow introductions. She is a very active dog and loves to play outside with her foster siblings. She has come such a long way and would love nothing more than a furever home. She has been known to jump a fence, so a tall 6ft wooden fence is recommended to keep her from taking an occasional stroll after a squirrley friend.    Zena has had all of her shots, as well as rabies vaccination, is spayed, and microchipped. Zena is ready to meet and bond with her furever family. Zena's adoption fee is $200.  If you have any questions, please email us at:   newbeginnings_animalrescue@yahoo.com .  You can apply to adopt her here:   http://www.newbeginningsanimalrescue.net   THANK YOU FOR CONSIDERING ADOPTING A RESCUED PET! Story
Midnight is a playful and energetic six-month-old boy ready to find his furever home! He is mixed breed pup with a black coat and a small amount of white on his chest. Midnight just recently went to a foster home where he is working on house training and learning new things. He is crate trained and has had no accidents in his crate while in his foster home. He enjoys walks with his foster sister to explore new sights and sounds. Midnight loves to play with lots of toys. He enjoys running and tossing them but does not destroy them. Once he has tired himself from all the play, he will cuddle up next to you on the couch. Midnight is looking for a furever home with a fenced in yard, lots of love, and a family that can continue his training. He gets along with other dogs, but would probably do best either as an only dog or in a home with another young dog to play with. He can be a little overpowering for an older dog. Midnight is fully vaccinated, neutered and heartworm negative. You can apply to adopt here:   http://www.newbeginningsanimalrescue.net/adoption-application22.html   THANK YOU FOR CONSIDERING ADOPTING A RESCUED PET!
