Meet Red — Your 52-Lb. Velcro Best Friend!
Red is a 1.5-year-old, 52-pound sweetheart who was rescued from a shelter’s euthanasia list along with his three siblings. Now that he’s safe in foster care, Red is showing everyone just how special he is.
If you’re looking for a loyal companion who wants nothing more than to be by your side, Red is your guy. He’s a true Velcro dog who loves being near his people—whether that means sitting next to you, following you from room to room, or simply keeping you company.
Despite his young age, Red is wonderfully calm, chill, and easygoing. He isn’t a high-energy dog and is perfectly happy hanging out with his favorite people. He’s also great with both big and small dogs and would make a wonderful addition to a family. We think he’d be especially lovely with children.
Red is smart, affectionate, and incredibly loyal. He also has a hilarious mischievous side! He loves sneaking off with things from the outdoor table, and when his foster catches him with his latest treasure, he proudly acts like he’s just won the jackpot.
He’s also a bit of a Houdini—Red can figure out how to escape when given the opportunity. But here’s the funny part: he doesn’t actually want to go anywhere! He’ll escape, only to follow his people around anyway. He just wants to be wherever you are.
And mornings are one of Red’s specialties. When he sees his person first thing, he likes to jump up and say hello with what can only be described as a big, happy good-morning hug.
He definitely loves his toys, especially balls!!
Red is the kind of dog who makes you feel loved simply by being around you. He’s sweet, gentle, affectionate, smart, loyal, and wonderfully laid-back—with just enough goofy personality to keep you laughing.
Red is ready for a family of his own. If you’re looking for a devoted best friend who will follow you everywhere, greet you with hugs, and happily spend his days by your side, Red may be exactly who you’ve been waiting for.
Red is neutered, heart worm negative, current on age-appropriate vaccinations, current on flea/tick and heart worm prevention, microchipped, current on de-wormer, and will receive a clean bill of health from a licensed veterinarian prior to transport.

This animal is currently located in Texas, but we do NOT adopt animals out in Texas due to the hundreds of animals being euthanized here daily. We ONLY do adopt in Central US and the East Coast.
The adoption fee listed ($625) INCLUDES transport from Texas to the Northeast.

We have happily adopted hundreds of animals this way (long distance), and we do our best to make sure the animal you are applying for is best fit for your home. With an approved application, we do put you in touch with the Texas foster who has the doggy for you to make sure they are the perfect fit.
