{s3829code380/} If you would like to provide this dog a loving home, please fill out a pre-adoption application.  Have a question? Please read our Frequently Asked Questions and Adoption Processed Explained documentation. _________ B I O ______________  Name: Confetti Size: Medium range: 26-60 lbs  Adoption Donation:&#226&#128&#175$250 (applicable sales tax included) Adoption fees may be paid by cash or check.&#226&#128&#175  Other:&#226&#128&#175 Spayed Female, Vaccinations current, Microchip, NO cats and NO apartments, older/considerate children only!   Confetti is very friendly and would love a home that would give her plenty of snuggles and treats.    Foster Home Feedback  ** NO cats and NO apartments! **  Older considerate children only! 4/12/2023 Foster Feedback: Confetti thought it was time to let her future family know what she’s been up to. It took no time at all for her to happily share toys with our two pups, we are so proud of how well she has done with sharing toys! She loves playing with my wiener dog and is pretty good with being gentle with his little self, even though she has a lot of spunk! They trot around the house, each with an end of the same toy in their mouths. Confetti had a spa day including a bath, nail trim, and ear cleaning. She was easily entertained by a lick mat, which made making her beautiful a lot easier! Confetti loves to go for car rides and doesn’t try to bolt when the doors are open.  We have been steadily practicing daily kennel naps where Confetti can enjoy a stuffed bone or kong and settle in for some quiet time, she does well with being in her kennel for a couple of hours at a time. Throughout the day we carve out 10-20 minutes a few times a day to play, practice manners, and/or go for walks. Part of our day involves Confetti practicing being alone in certain rooms with her bed for a short duration and she is getting used to being left alone while we are still home. Kid’s rooms are off limits though! We really love having this endearing, happy honey with us.   3/7/2023 Foster Feedback: Confetti has been working so hard and has learned so much while attending classes at Down Dog Studio and practicing at home with her foster mom. The cues she regularly knows are: touch, sit, down, wait, leave it, place (bed), kennel, come, off, up, bring it, drop, and Confetti has good loose leash walking manners.  This sweet pup is affectionate with her people. We have developed a strong bond training together and she prefers to spend her time with her foster mom, however, she finds opportunities to play with her human foster brother, and cuddle her foster dad. One evening, her human foster sister was crying (sibling squabbles) and Confetti gently found the best angle to lick her tears and insert herself into sister's lap for snuggles. The tears stopped because who can cry through that comforting preciousness?! Confetti is a very playful pup! Her favorites haven't changed, and she still finds joy and exercise playing fetch both inside and outside. She was prancing around the other day switching gaits like a fancy show horse. Confetti loves to learn and work and is extremely food motivated. She even prefers working over fetch, so she really does well when she's engaged and learning.   There are a couple quirks we're working on. In uncertain situations, or when meeting new people, Confetti is cautious but responds well with positive reinforcement, space, and time. She has leash/barrier frustration that can be expressed as reactivity to other dogs. This is common in anxious dogs and the behaviour usually stops if the barrier is dropped. Without a doubt, Confetti needs slow and supervised introductions to other dogs. She will resource guard with other dogs, so we keep toys and bones put up unless the dogs are separated, and we feed apart also. Recently, we started working on this, and so far, so good! Separation anxiety is a struggle and may be for a large part of her life. If left alone not contained, Confetti will get into mischief. When no one is home, she is kenneled but not for long periods since we are home most of the time. Although Confetti is potty trained, if the need arises while she is in her kennel, and in a state of panic, she will lose control of her bladder and or bowels. We have had a learning curve with this and we are happy to answer any questions or concerns about any of Confetti's quirks. Despite having stressful times in the kennel, Confetti does sleep quietly in there all night. The dogs sleep in our bedroom, in their kennels.  Confetti's perfect match will find her and when they do, it will be someone who has lots of love and belly rubs to give. Someone who can offer time and patience to help her build confidence in anxious situations and set her up to succeed. A family who is home more often than not, and has a large area for her to run and play. Confetti would enjoy and benefit from having a canine fur sibling who would reciprocate play. Does this sound like your family? This smart, spunky pup has so much love and companionship to offer!   1/8/2023 Foster Feedback: Sweet Confetti (Connie, Fetti, Boba Fetts) came to the rescue from the pound in early fall 2022. Her previous owner was contacted through rabies tag info, but never came to claim her. This gentle, loving girl lives to play with toys especially balls and fetch! She even tosses them around and plays by herself. Her favorites are the glitter baby shark she picked out from the rescue when I brought her into my home a week ago, and the kong squeaker ball. Lucky for me, the squeaker is a really loud one! Lol! When she is happy and excited, she prances around and has a great time playing with my mini dachshund. Confetti has a lot of energy! She likes being outside, even in the cold. She is wonderful with the kids, they chase her around, and that’s what she likes. She has been cautious, but friendly meeting a few new people.  Poor sweetie suffers from separation anxiety and has a hard time being left alone. To keep Confetti engaged we’ve been learning new tricks, playing double ball fetch, puzzle feeders, exploring the yard (we are a bit rural) and slowly learning how to be comfortable and confident being left alone. She sleeps quietly in her kennel all night and had 2 potty accidents that I recognize could have prevented better. In fact, my naughty, stubborn wiener dog has had more rebellious “accidents” than Confetti! Confetti would do best in a home where her people are home more often than not and have dedicated time and patience to offer her in learning healthy ways to cope with her anxiety.  Confetti is petite, smaller than she looks in pictures and her fur is silky soft. She has the most adorable speckled socks and is a fantastic cuddler. The kisses she offers show the love she has and they are not slobbery at all!  I’m looking forward to helping her continue to grow in confidence and knowledge so she can be her best  pup and make the perfect family pet!  11/17/2022 Foster Feedback: Confetti is still looking for her forever home. She is still a spunky gal who loves to move, run, and play! She spends quite a bit of time running around in our backyard trying to catch all of the birds and squirrels. She is fantastic at fetch and loves to run around and play with our kids.  Even though Confetti has a tough time when she first meets new dogs, she really enjoys having a dog buddy! I can tell she misses our last foster as they’d play for hours. She gets along just fine with the resident dog but he doesn’t play nearly enough for her liking.  She is super lovable and sweet! She does get a bit nervous meeting new people - especially men. She just needs a few extra minutes to sniff them out. So some time and patience is needed. She quickly became BFF’s with my husband.  She is spoiled and doesn’t spend much time in the kennel. If adopted into a family where a kennel will be used often, she will need patience and grace as she does not like being in there. I think it makes her nervous and she has peed (and once pooped) in there.  She is just so cute and sweet! We hope she find her forever family soon! I can see her being a great road trip dog, going on hikes, jumping in the river, etc. I hope she find a person to match her fun personality!  10/13/2022 Foster Feedback: Confetti is a loving dog who enjoys chomping toys, cuddling on laps, and giving kisses. She also enjoys chomping on underwear, so keep those clothes in a hamper or drawer. She loves my kids and is always down for a game of hide and seek. I’m able to leave her unattended for about 10 minutes without her getting into mischief but haven’t had the courage to try any longer than that. Confetti sleeps well through the night. She has woken me up twice to go outside and use the bathroom but generally sleeps through the night. She is potty trained but for some reason enjoys peeing on our porch instead of going all the way outside. We are working on that!  We have another foster and our own dog and she gets along with them beautifully. She has some spunk and can play for hours with another playful dog. However, intros need to be done slowly as she doesn’t react very well to initial meets. We can help you with that if you have another dog.  Confetti is a good girl and would love to meet you!  9/19/2022 Volunteer Feedback: Confetti is a gorgeous girl who loves to love on others! Within seconds of meeting her, she was kissing me all over! She walks beautifully on a leash and follows directional cues wonderfully. Her basic commands, such as sit, are a work in progress, but a patient owner would get these commands mastered in no time. She loves her tennis ball and returns it back with the command “drop it.” Relaxing in a shaded spot is her idea of a good time! She enjoys playing “find it” with treats and lounging around in the presence of humans. Her small head fits perfectly in hands and she loves to receive scratches near her ears! This beauty would love an owner who can still around at her pace and take in the views and scents with her.To view additional dogs available for adoption, please see our website: www.4luvofdog.org May 27, 2023, 7:36 pm

He's doing fantastic with potty training with only a couple of accidents after his first week here and that's only because his foster dad missed his cues. He is much more comfortable in his kennel and will go sleep in it from time to time during the day and will race to sit in it patiently when it's breakfast and dinner time.  In my first post I mentioned that Ryatt did some resource guarding but he has gotten so much better with that as well! He has never resource guarded with humans, just our male dog.  I would compare them to 2 toddlers who don't like to share their favorite toys. Now that Ryatt has come to understand that love, food, toys and treats are plentiful, he's much less concerned about needing to protect his stuff.   He's such a wonderful dog who loves to be where ever you are and really deserves a forever family of his own.  1/14/2023 Foster Feedback: We've had Ryatt for a few weeks now and he is a very sweet and silly puppy. He loves playing with our dogs and going for walks each day. He is still working on potty training but does great when he is on a schedule and his foster parents pay attention to his cues. He sleeps on our bed at night and will sleep through the night but is ready for breakfast and some play time when we get up. He does resource guard food and toys but it is very manageable by feeding him in his kennel and keeping bones and toys put away unless supervised or he is in his kennel. He doesn't love his kennel but has made great strides in the few weeks we've had him. He has an impressive voice so apartment living may not be in the cards for him. He does great with our 3 boys and particularly loves our teenage son. He has met several people since we've had him and he greets them all with tail wags and kisses.   Click here to watch a video of Ryatt. To view additional dogs available for adoption, please see our website: www.4luvofdog.org May 27, 2023, 7:36 pm

{s3829code380/} If you would like to provide this dog a loving home, please fill out a pre-adoption application.  Have a question? Please read our Frequently Asked Questions and Adoption Processed Explained documentation. _________ B I O ______________  Name: Sheriff Size: ~ Large range: 61-100 lbs  Adoption Donation:&#226&#128&#175 $250 (applicable sales tax included). &#226&#128&#175Adoption fees may be paid by cash or check.&#226&#128&#175  Other:&#226&#128&#175&#226&#128&#175 Neutered Male, Vaccinations current, Microchip  Sheriff was previously diagnosed with Protein-losing nephropathy. This is well managed on medications.  Protein-losing nephropathy is characterized by defects in the filtering system in the kidneys, leading to loss of protein and plasma from the blood rather than only the waste products meant to leave the body.  In many cases, an underlying cause cannot be discovered, and these are classified as idiopathic. In fact, early recognition of PLN allows intervention to delay the onset of renal failure. Many veterinary patients are presented only when signs of renal failure or uremia become apparent. These signs may include polyuria/polydipsia, anorexia, nausea, and vomiting. The outcome of PLN has previously been considered poor, with a median survival time of 1 month. In cases with moderate to severe renal failure, this likely still holds true. With the advent of ACE inhibition, survival in dogs with PLN without renal failure has been extended, and survival times over 1 to 2 years is not uncommon. Rechecks to check his Renal values and UPC to monitor the protein should be completed every 6-12 months based on your veterinarian’s recommendation. Sheriff is on 2 medications to manage this. Telmisarten 20mg, 2 tablets once a day $25.00 per month and Clopidogrel 75mg, 1 tab Once a day $13.00. Because one of his medications is a blood thinner, blood draws should be from leg vein and not his jugular. An appointment should be set up quickly after adopting to establish care with a vet to continue refilling his medications. Protein Losing nephropathy which has a very low life expectancy. Inexplicably, Sheriff has lived six months beyond the life expectancy of a dog with this condition. Adopters should be cognizant that he may live months or years.     Sheriff is a nice boy looking for his forever family to give him lots of playtime!   Foster Home Feedback  2/11/2023 Foster Feedback: Meet Sheriff! He is a smart and playful boy that loves everyone he meets. Sheriff loves fetch and always keeps a tennis ball nearby so he's ready to play in a moment's notice. He learned to shake in about 5 minutes and picks up on things very quickly with a little food motivation. He does well in the kennel and hasn't had a single accident in the house. I would recommend a household with older and considerate children as he sometimes gets mouthy when playing and doesn't realize his size. Sheriff would love to have an active owner or another dog buddy that loves to play as much as he does. He does great on a leash and loves walks so he can explore and smell everything. After playing he enjoys relaxing with a chew toy or a Kong with frozen Greek yogurt. Sheriff does take 2 medications every morning for his blood but that doesn't slow him down from living the playful life he wants. To view additional dogs available for adoption, please see our website: www.4luvofdog.org May 27, 2023, 7:36 pm
