Story
Old Yeller, is that a new trend? Old stuff made NEW?? Cause I am NOT old, although I am Yeller, a really pretty YELLER COLOR!!! :) I am a Yeller Chesapeake bay retriever/ YELLER lab mix, it is important for my new family to know about the Chesapeake bay breed. We can be very stubborn, smart and independent and I really like to be in charge, so my new family needs to be strong leaders too. I am a handsome bloke, with swirls of yellow and white all through my coat. I am very smart and very sweet. I can from a high kill shelter with no hope- Now I EXUDE hope!! And LOVE!!! I WAS heartworm positive but have already finished the treatment and am NEGATIVE and just stay on prevention for the rest of my life. I am good with other dogs, but really would be best in an only dog home, cause I want all the attention :) I LOVE MY people and I tend to take "control" of my home so have to have a couple of things... 1) STRONG leadership owner, 2) I have to have an owner who will be wiling to not let me meet everyone who visits.. I want to protect my home a little too much... and 3) I have to stay in the San Antonio/TX area so my rescue friends can keep close tabs on me and how i am doing :) I have been running and playing since I am safe, but really am a couch potato. I am a bigger boy and about 65-70#. Look me up, get my number, text or call me OR just APPLY to ADOPT ME!!! I will be waiting by the phone!!! Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX)

Story
Meet Sinbad! Hey guys, my name is Sinbad! Although, my friends call me Sinny Binny or Stinky Boy. I am a labrador retriever mix, and I weigh in at about 65lbs. I don't remember my exact birthday, but my friends at the shelter helped me pick a new one, 03/31/2021. I've been here at the shelter for a while now, since the begining of 2022, but I just haven't found the right home yet. You see, when I came to the shelter, I had lots of scars on my legs that my new friends wanted to know about. Let's just say my life before this wasn't very nice, so it was really hard for me to trust these new people. They were very patient with me, they gave me lots of treats and reassurance, and I realized that not all people would treat me like I used to be. In fact, I actually really like making friends now! One of my favorite things to do is to run around and play in our play yards, chasing toys and enjoying the sunshine with all kinds of people to keep me company. Some of my absolute favorite things are yummy treats, and a nice rubber ball (bonus points if it squeaks). I love having my ball so much, sometimes I carry it around all day long. I enjoy spending time with other dogs, but I'd be just as happy to have my people all to myself. Of course, if you do already have any dogs at home, I would definitely need to meet them before I agreed to live with them. I'm not a fan of cats, so a home without is best. Even though my shelter friends have shown me how great people can be to me, I can still sometimes be a little bit shy when I meet brand-new people, so be a little patient with me. I would really love your help finding a forever home that will give me all the love I could ever need.  Sinbad is fully vetted, microchipped, and neutered, with an adoption fee of $175.  Interested in this loving guy? Story
Meet Jagger! Jagger is here and ready to make some friends. Jagger came to us as a stray who was sadly never claimed, and now this big guy is looking for some new digs. We estimate him to have been born in early 2021, and he is a tall labadore retriever mix. This young guy is still learning that he's all grown up, meaning he loves to run and play! His favorite past time, aside from sniffing every new smell, is running around and stretching his legs. Jagger is as handsome as he is spunky, with his striking black and white coat, and he struts his looks like nobody's business. He is still working on his basic manners and obedience, but he is making great strides, and quickly too. He is starting to respond to his name, knows the "sit" command, and is walking well on a leash already. Jagger is highly treat motivated, and learns very quickly with a confident guide and some tasty snacks. Jagger would do best as an only pet, as he sees cats as toys and other dogs as competition for affection, but with his big personality he could make any home feel full. He loves to chew on kongs and chase tennis balls, and his perfect home would probably come with a big fenced in yard and a new best friend to teach him how to play fetch. Jagger is fully vetted, microchipped, and neutered, with an adoption fee of $175.  Interested? Call 615-446-7387 to set an appointment.  ##1362409##
