Meet Sinbad! This big ball of fun is looking for his forever family. Sinbad came to us as a stray in early 2022 and was never claimed. We estimate his birthday to be 04/01/2021, and he is a gorgeous yellow labrador retriever mix. If you get the pleasure of meeting him, you may notice some scars on his rear legs. Though they were already mostly healed when he came to us, the marks can only lead us to speculate what kind of life this handsome guy had before. If you watch Sinbad interact with our staff, you get to see him be relaxed and as goofy as can be. He loves to play chase, wrestle, play tug with his favorite stuffies, and run around with his friends here. With new people, however, Sinbad tends to become very shy and unsure. We suspect however his life was before the shelter left him with some unfortunate fears and habits. It takes him a few extra minutes and reassurance from a familiar face to relax and open up to new faces, but once he does you're in for a treat. He is such a smart boy, too. He is walking better on a leash all the time, knows the "sit" command, and responds to both his name and his nickname "Sinny Binny". Sinbad is highly food motivated, he loves lunchtime and treats more than anything. He gets so excited to chow down that he gets the privilage of eating almost exclusively from slow feeders and puzzle bowls. He is still learning to take treats gently, but can catch them midair like a pro. Sinbad does great with other dogs, but as always we require a meet and greet if you already have any. He requires a cat-free home, as they remind him of his favorite toys (stuffed animals). Because of his rough play style and slow-to-trust nature, we reccomend without any young kids either.  Sinbad is fully vetted, microchipped, and neutered, with an adoption fee of $175. We require his forever home to have a fully fenced in yard, minimum of 5ft. Meet Rosemarie! Miss Rosie is a southern sweetie looking for a new home. Rosie came to us as a stray who was never claimed, and is now on the lookout for a new place to call home. She is an adorable little thing, weighing in just under 40lbs, with an estimated birthday of 11/01/2018. Although we can't say for sure, she looks to us to be a labrador retriever and australian shepherd mix, with a glossy black and white coat and an adorable half-length tail. Rosemarie may be little little in stature, but she has a gigantic personality. She loves to get all the attention she can, and gives fantastic hugs too. She enjoys a good sprint around the room, and we think she would love to have a large yard to run and play all day long. Meet Elmer! This sweet senior is looking for a retirement home all his own. Mr Elmer was sadly left stranded and alone at a dog park here in town, and was brought into our care for some TLC. We immediately vetted him, and unfortunately he tested positive for heartworms. He started his treatments in August of 2022, and as of the beginning of 2023 we are happy to say he is heartworm negative! Elmer will also require a year supply of heartguard that would be an extra $150 upon adoption. Now that Elmer is healthy, we are finally able to help him find his forever family!  Elmer is a sweet, loving labrador retriever mix, with an estimated birthday of 08/01/2013. Although he's sliding well into his senior years, we think he makes a good looking silver fox. Although Elmer came from a rough beginning, he has never once shown us a lick of bad attitude. He loves every single person he meets, and has such a gorgeous heart. He is as sweet as sugar, and we cannot get enough of his wonderful snuggles. Although you may occasionally hear us call him Smelmer, we say it with all the love we have. El is also just as smart as he is lovable, he spent much of his heartworm treatments in a foster home and during that time he learned so much! He knows his name, walks well on a leash, knows "sit", "shake/paw", and when he's in the mood he wil even lay down on command. Elmer is highly treat motivated, and although he is a little older he is so eager to please and learn all kinds of new things. If we HAD to pick a flaw for Mr. Elmer, it's that he prefers to be the only furry friend in the home. He doesn't do well with other dogs or cats, however he does amazing with children.  Elmer is fully vetted,  microchipped, and neutered. Meet Prince! This handsome guy came to us in March of 2021. When he was brought to us, he was very underweight, and had many bumps, bruises, and scratches from his previous life. Shortly after his arrival, he was tested and found positive for heartworms. Prince started his heartworm treatments in early March, and after six months of difficult treatment, we are happy to say that he is now healthy, negative, and ready for his forever home.  Prince is estimated to have been born in 2015, and is a lab mix. Now that he is cleared, he loves nothing more than to play! Although he may be approaching his senior years, now that he is healthy and well cared for, he has a brand new peppy outlook on life. He loves to run around and play with his friends, but his favorite thing to do is definitely to chew and chase tennis balls.  Prince loves to be outdoors and would be thrilled to have a big yard to run around and play, after all there are so many good things to smell and explore! He is also mature enough that he would love to have a person to call his own to relax with at the end of a long day. Although we always require a meet and greet, Prince is always open to meeting a potential new doggy friend! He does good with kids, too, and would be happy in a home with them. Unfortunately, he thinks cats are just another kind of toy, so he is best suited to a home without them. Max was rescued when he was around 6 months old. It took the people who found him a week to get him out of the field he was hiding in. Something very bad must have happened to him, but he has blossomed in the last few years. He is very sweet and loving, but he kills cats and chases cows and goats. He loves the water and chasing rabbits and generally racing around all over the place! He also kills armadillos. He needs a home with room to roam and lots of love.

Meet Luke! We rescued Luke and his brother Duke from Memphis Animal Control. Before being picked up by animals control, they were both chained up outside and starved. Both are now well fed and have lots of love to give. Luke is neutered and up to date on all vaccinations. Due to his previous life circumstances, he still has lots to learn so that he can become the best house dog he can be.  His perfect forever family is one who is willing to put in the time, love, socialization, and training that he didn't get in his first year of life. WOW, is Bailey a special girl! Smart as a whip! Bailey loves to play and loves to cuddle. Baily is looking for an active family that she can play with. She says she's not hyper because her favorite thing is sitting with her human and watching TV. Bailey is great with other dogs and would do really well with a playmate but it is not necessary that there be one already in the home. Bailey has not been cat tested but her fosters believe that she would want to chase after them if she saw one so best be sure to have a meet and greet first. Also, our adoption agency will have to put into effect a no children under the age of 13 rule. Bailey can sometimes growl if someone is doing something to her that she doesn't like. There has been no bitting and her fosters are working on this behavior.
