Story
Hi there! I’m Lainey, a young and energetic Border Collie mix with a big heart and an even bigger love for playtime! I’ve got that classic herding-dog energy, which means I’m always ready to move, explore, and sometimes I even show off my “herding skills” by playfully nipping at heels when I get excited (I can’t help it, it’s in my genes!). Because of that, I’d do best with kids who understand my playful style and can handle my enthusiasm. I absolutely love people and make friends easily, though I’m still learning how to introduce myself politely. I tend to get a little too excited sometimes! I walk nicely on leash and don’t mind being handled, though I can get a bit mouthy if you mess with my tail or mouth too much. I’m a smart girl, though, and with a little consistency and positive training, I’ll keep improving every day. I have met a few other dogs at the shelter, and while I don’t mind being around them, I can be a little over-the-top when it comes to actual introductions. For now, I think I’d do best as your one and only pup, but with time, training, and the right setup, I might learn to enjoy having a dog friend someday. If you’re looking for a bright, affectionate, and active companion to join you on all of life’s adventures, I think we’d make a great match!
