Story
🐾 Meet Bentley 🐾
Bentley is a 7–8-year-old Chihuahua mix weighing just 10 pounds, complete with the cutest little nose you've ever seen. While he may be small, his personality has really started to shine as he's settled into foster care.
Bentley rides well in the car, sleeps through the night, and is learning that the crate isn't so bad. He still tries to avoid it if he thinks that's where he's headed, but once he's inside, he settles nicely. He'd much rather be curled up in bed next to his favorite person, though.
As his confidence has grown, so has his playful side. Bentley loves his daily zoomies, enjoys little play sessions, and has discovered that toys can actually be pretty fun. He also likes being involved in whatever you're doing and happily follows his foster siblings around, occasionally joining in for a game or snuggling up beside them.
Bentley is still working on a few things. He's making steady progress with house training and now goes outside on his own to do his business. He'll even bark to let you know when he needs to go out to poop, though he's still learning to ask for potty breaks to pee. Marking has become much less of an issue since being neutered.
Leash walking is still a work in progress. He'll walk well with someone he trusts, but new people and unfamiliar situations can make him nervous. Because of this, Bentley will need a securely fenced yard, as he will run if given the opportunity.
Bentley is looking for a family that understands trust takes time. He isn't the dog who will immediately jump into your lap and cover you with kisses. Instead, he'll quietly watch, learn, and slowly decide you're one of his people. When that happens, you'll discover a silly little dog who loves lap time, enjoys being chased around the house, gets the cutest zoomies, and simply wants to be part of the family.
His ideal home would be:

🐾 A family willing to give him time to decompress
🐾 Another friendly dog would be a bonus, but not required
🐾 Someone looking for a loyal companion rather than an instant best friend
