Story
Location: Didsbury, AB// Age: Approx 3 years// Sex: Neutered male// Energy level: Low/medium// Vaccines: Up to date// Dogs: Yes// Cats: Untested but likely yes// Kids: Yes, but would be happiest living in a kid free home// Meet Manito – the one-eyed wonder with a heart full of love and a happy dance to match! 🌞💃 Manito is a charming little chihuahua, about 3 years old, who’s ready to find his forever sunbeam (and family) to call his own. Neutered, vaccinated, and full of gentle good vibes, Manito is the definition of easy-going. He gets along wonderfully with other dogs and loves nothing more than a short, casual stroll—he’s a perfect little walker on leash and enjoys getting out at least once a day. While he’s an independent guy, Manito also loves to be near his people. If you’ve got a good lap, he’s got a great cuddle ready for you! Like many chihuahuas, he’s got a bit of that classic protective streak—he may take a moment to warm up to new people, but once you’re in his circle, you’re family. He would thrive in a calm, quiet home without children or high-energy pets. Think cozy vibes, soft blankets, and sunshine naps. Speaking of sunshine—Manito’s favourite pastime is lounging outside in a warm patch of sun. A backyard or sunny patio is a must-have for this little sunbather. When he’s happy (which is often), he busts out his adorable happy dance—it’s guaranteed to make you smile. Manito is uniquely handsome with one soulful eye and quirky little crooked toes that only add to his charm. He’s not crate trained but doesn’t need to be—he’s completely non-destructive and does just fine with free roam when left alone. He’s still working on his house training, but he’s getting better every day with a little patience and consistency. If you’re looking for a chill, sun-loving companion with a heart of gold, a touch of sass, and a dance that will brighten your day, Manito just might be your perfect match. 💛 complete an application on our website to apply to meet him: www.ruffstartanimalrescue.com

Story
Location: Didsbury, AB. Age: Approx 5 years Size: Small Sex: Neutred Male Energy level: Low Vaccines: Up to date Dogs: Yes Cats: Yes Kids: Kids 15+ Meet Toto, a sweet and shy boy with a heart full of love to give. Toto may take some time to adjust to a new home, but once he trusts you, his affection is endless. His journey has been a little rocky, and he’s still learning to feel safe in the world around him. Toto’s kennel is his safe haven, and while he loves to cuddle up on the bed with his human, he feels most secure sleeping in his kennel at night. Toto is a very quiet boy and hasn’t barked a single time—he’s peaceful and gentle, never a troublemaker. However, he’s quite nervous about being picked up or handled, and leashed walks are too overwhelming for him at the moment. He’ll need a patient adopter who understands that he might need time to build confidence and feel comfortable in new situations. Toto gets along well with other dogs and would be fine around dog-savvy cats, though he appreciates his space, especially when he’s sleeping in his kennel. He’s a bit of a homebody and has enjoyed camping trips with his foster family, though he’d rather stay in a quiet, loving home where he can feel safe and secure. This sweet boy eats a special dehydrated dog food that’s easy on his sensitive teeth, as many of his teeth were removed. Despite his ruff start, Toto has never held a grudge—he’s all about the love and enjoys getting spoiled. One of the cutest things about Toto is his pre- and post-meal “dance”! He’s so excited for food time that he can’t help but do a little happy wiggle and shuffle before and after each meal. It’s a small, adorable quirk that’s guaranteed to make you smile! Toto is looking for an adopter who will be patient and understanding, someone who can give him the time and care he needs to blossom into the affectionate companion he’s meant to be. If you’re ready to offer Toto a quiet, loving home where he can feel safe, secure, and showered with affection, he just might be the perfect fit for you! Toto would do best in a home with another pet and no children due to his nervous nature. A quiet, stable home with a predictable routine would be a dream for this boy. If you think your home would be a good match for Toto, please complete an adoption application on our website and one of our team members will be in touch with you shortly via email to arrange a phone interview.
