Story
If you`re looking to add a little sweetness to your life, then look no further than Brownie! Brownie is a sweet and worried 5 year old chi who came to us from a situation where there were a lot of dogs living in one home, so she`s looking for a patient adopter who can help her settle in and learn how to be successful in a home at her own pace. She would do best in a low-traffic home and quiet neighborhood that she can explore as she grows comfortable. Brownie would like to be the only dog in the home, but could potentially go home with a dog-savvy cat companion with a slow introduction.

Story
Meet Snowball! This sensitive guy came from a situation with many other dogs living in one home, so he is looking for a patient adopter who can help him settle in and learn how to be successful in a home at his own pace. New people, dogs and environments can be scary for Snowball, and he is not afraid to use his voice to communicate his discomfort. He would do best in a low-traffic home and quiet neighborhood that he can explore as he grows comfortable.

Story
Meet Bruce   Bruce is the definition of a sidekick — the kind of little guy who wants to be part of everything you do. He’s small, snuggly, and happiest when he’s tucked right up next to his person.   He’s crate trained, great in the house, and gets along well with both dogs and cats. He can get a little worked up if another dog’s behind a gate (barriers aren’t his favorite), so slow, thoughtful introductions are best. Once he knows you’re a friend, he’s all in.   The vet isn’t his favorite place — it’s stressful for him — but at home, Bruce is a sweetheart through and through. He’s affectionate, loyal, and just wants a calm, steady home where he can finally relax and be someone’s constant companion.   If you’ve been looking for a devoted little buddy who’ll follow you from room to room and make you feel like the most important person in the world, Bruce is ready to fill that spot. Apply to adopt. This dog is up to date on vaccinations and is spayed or neutered. (Please note: Puppies under 3 months old may not be sterilized prior to adoption. If this is the case, your adoption coordinator will provide guidance on the process.)   To adopt or learn more about this dog, you must complete an adoption application, which can be found on our website: www.sandypawsrescue.com.   PLEASE READ:     •    If a dog or puppy is listed, they are currently available for adoption. However, they may already be pending an adoption, and their profile may not yet reflect this.     •    All information is accurate to the best of our knowledge as of the posting date.     •    Unless explicitly stated, Sandy Paws Rescue does not guarantee the breed of any dog. Breeds listed are educated guesses made by shelter staff, volunteers, or veterinarians. Many of our dogs are mixed breeds, often with pit bull-type genetics, resulting in a wide variety of physical traits and temperaments.   Our dogs come from various situations, such as kill shelters, owner surrenders, or as strays. It is likely both parents were mixed breeds as well.   Sandy Paws Rescue does not have a public shelter in Massachusetts. Our dogs reside in private foster homes or boarding kennels in the South until adopted. Many dogs are spoken for prior to transport or release from state-mandated isolation.   For information on adoption fees, procedures, or FAQs, visit our website: www.sandypawsrescue.com.   The FIRST step in adopting from Sandy Paws Rescue is to submit a completed adoption application.   ##2542787##

Story
Meet Georgie   Ten pounds of sweetness. Big personality. Zero drama.   Georgie is an eight-year-old chi mix who just wants to be where his people are. He’s the kind of dog who follows you from room to room, settles near you while you work or watch TV, and is happiest when life is simple and you’re close by.   He’s friendly with everyone he meets and does great with other dogs. He’s not a fan of crates or being shut away, but he’s so well behaved in a home that he doesn’t need any of that anyway. Once he settles into a new routine, he appears to be reliably potty trained and easy to live with.   Georgie loves treats, eats well, and has that perfect companion-dog energy — affectionate, gentle, and grateful for any kindness shown his way.   If you’re looking for a soft little shadow who will adore you with his whole heart, Georgie’s your guy. This dog is up to date on vaccinations and is spayed or neutered. (Please note: Puppies under 3 months old may not be sterilized prior to adoption. Story
My husband and I purchased Rosie from Rescue Inc (Great Dog Rescue, New England) on Nov. 17, 2020. She is age 6 Rosie is very intelligent but being half chihuahua, she has a loud bark. Barks mostly at passing cars/trucks, especially while walking. I live in a 55 and over community so there is constant traffic and people walking by. She is a Rescue from Tennessee and has had a difficult traumatic past, with injuries to her face. She is very protective especially with me ever since my husband died 3 years ago. I am hoping she can have more training with her new owner;. She loves meeting new people but gets overly excited; I have very few rugs in my home due to her habit of piddling a bit from her excitement especially with new people. although she is house and puppy pad trained. I use puppy pads in my enclosed porch but usually she will wait til I get home to pee or poop. She has a large crate in my living room and that is where she sleeps through the night or when I’m out.

Story
Meet Mighty Mouse!Mighty Mouse is another pup that's going to need a very special someone that understands how particular, bossy, and sassy chihuahuas can be. Mighty Mouse is about two years old, absolutely gorgeous (as you can see) and also very, very deaf. VERY deaf. This means he can't really hear himself bark so he tends to bark loudly and incessantly when he gets riled up so shared walls/apartment complexes may not be the best environment for this shouty little man. He's a little under 14lbs but what he lacks in size he makes up for with an attitude the size of Texas. He takes a bit to warm up to people but once he does, he definitely plays favorites. He does well with other dogs but not with cats. He's sweet with people (once he likes you) and loves going for walks. He also loves his treats/snacks and likes to bury them and then forget they exist. With the right amount of sweet talking, Mighty Mouse will be your best friend...but you need to be willing to GO SLOW with him. He isn't the kind of dog that you can just swoop down and scoop up right away because he can and will throw hands while screaming vulgarities (probably). If you've had a difficult dog in the past and are used to the attitude and the judgmental side eye, Mighty Mouse might be the guy for you. We're looking for an adult only home (older teenagers should be fine as well) that has the patience and the drive to put in the effort with him...because he is incredible once you melt that icy Fight Club exterior.
