Story
Meet Alia! This striking lil’ lady is both a great leash-walking and office buddy. She can be worried when meeting new people, so would like her social circle to be kept small as she’s adjusting to a new home. Once she`s warmed up, Alia has shown herself to be a loving and loyal companion. Alia is sensitive when it comes to veterinary visits and close handling (she says no thank you to being picked up without asking her first, please!), so she’ll need a gentle, patient hand and an owner that can be an advocate for her. Alia could potentially go to a home with older children that can follow her management plan and practice petting consent. In her previous home, Alia was able to regularly share space with another dog, but she generally prefers not to stop and say hi to dogs on leash. It’s possible she may be able to go home with a well-matched dog with a slow intro, but she may also prefer to be an only pup. She has no history living with cats, so full separation and a slow intro will be the best way to help her be successful!Alia may start off a little cautious, but give her time and a cozy spot to settle in, and you’ll see her personality shine!

Story
Meet Ricky! This low-key kiddo enjoys lounging arouund the home with his people. Ricky lived in a bubble in his previous home - he wasn`t meeting a lot of new people or animals - and can be pretty worried when navigating new environments or meeting strangers as a result. Once he`s warmed up, though, Ricky loves hanging out with his human friends for some low-key relaxation time (Ricky`s a couch potato, and loves nothing more than a good nap and a nice window view to look at!).Ricky has been a bit reserved meeting other mellow dogs at the shelter, but we think he could do ok with a canine sibling that is comfortable with a more calm friend. Ricky may start off a little cautious, but give him time and a cozy spot to settle in and you`ll see his sweet personality shine!

Story
Ray Ray was found as a stray.  Sadly, when her owner was contacted, he did not want Ray Ray back.  His loss is someone else's gain because this girl is an absolute angel.   She is settling into her foster home, taking lots of naps, and getting the lay of the land.  Ray Ray is reportedly good with other dogs and cats and scores an A+ on the snuggle scale.       This dog is up to date on vaccinations and is spayed or neutered. (Please note: Puppies under 3 months old may not be sterilized prior to adoption. If this is the case, your adoption coordinator will provide guidance on the process.)   To adopt or learn more about this dog, you must complete an adoption application, which can be found on our website: www.sandypawsrescue.com.   PLEASE READ:     •    If a dog or puppy is listed, they are currently available for adoption. However, they may already be pending an adoption, and their profile may not yet reflect this.     •    All information is accurate to the best of our knowledge as of the posting date.     •    Unless explicitly stated, Sandy Paws Rescue does not guarantee the breed of any dog. Breeds listed are educated guesses made by shelter staff, volunteers, or veterinarians. Many of our dogs are mixed breeds, often with pit bull-type genetics, resulting in a wide variety of physical traits and temperaments.   Our dogs come from various situations, such as kill shelters, owner surrenders, or as strays. It is likely both parents were mixed breeds as well.   Sandy Paws Rescue does not have a public shelter in Massachusetts. Our dogs reside in private foster homes or boarding kennels in the South until adopted. Many dogs are spoken for prior to transport or release from state-mandated isolation.   For information on adoption fees, procedures, or FAQs, visit our website: www.sandypawsrescue.com.   The FIRST step in adopting from Sandy Paws Rescue is to submit a completed adoption application.   ##2636762##

Story
Yes, she’s as cute as a button. And yes, she really is 4 .   Button is a tiny young adult with a huge love for cuddling and being close to her people. She’s sweet, affectionate, and happiest curled up in a warm lap or tucked safely beside you. Found as a stray in rural Texas, she somehow held onto the softest, gentlest personality.   She’s dog friendly with other small dogs, but because of her size, we’re thoughtful about her social circle. We haven’t introduced her to larger dogs, and we won’t be tossing her into chaotic group play. Button deserves calm, safe interactions and people who understand that 3 lbs requires common sense. She's loving her foster brother and sister.  We are working on potty training and leash training.  She's not great at either yet. Because she’s so petite, Button will be placed with her size in mind. Homes with very young children will need to be evaluated carefully, as accidental bumps and falls can be a real risk for dogs this small. She’s not fragile emotionally, but physically? Yes. And that matters.   If you’re looking for a loving, pocket-sized companion who wants nothing more than to be adored and protected, Button might be your girl.   Tiny dog. Big heart. Zero doubt she knows she’s special.   This dog is up to date on vaccinations and is spayed or neutered. (Please note: Puppies under 3 months old may not be sterilized prior to adoption. Story
Gina is a 7-month-old Chihuahua weighing just under 10 pounds, and she has absolutely no idea she’s small. She’s bright, expressive, and full of personality in the best way.   She loves playing with dogs her size and has a hilarious habit of “smiling” and doing little dance moves when she’s excited. Her wiggly tail is nonstop entertainment, and when playtime winds down, she’s happiest curled up in a lap soaking up attention.   Gina is crate trained and potty trained, which already puts her ahead of the game for a young pup. She prefers being carried or handled over long leash walks and is still gaining confidence with leashes, so a patient adopter who understands small-dog quirks will be key.   She’s affectionate, social, and thrives with people who enjoy having a little shadow by their side.   Rescue story: Gina was found wandering near the woods during a freezing week in Houston. Thankfully, the person who found her was a dog rescuer, and she was brought to safety just in time. Now she’s warm, loved, and ready for a home that will never let her be cold or alone again.   Gina is small, but her presence is anything but.   This dog is up to date on vaccinations and is spayed. (Please note: Puppies under 3 months old may not be sterilized prior to adoption. If this is the case, your adoption coordinator will provide guidance on the process.) Story
Meet Bruce   Bruce is the definition of a sidekick — the kind of little guy who wants to be part of everything you do. He’s small, snuggly, and happiest when he’s tucked right up next to his person.   He’s crate trained, great in the house, and gets along well with both dogs and cats. He can get a little worked up if another dog’s behind a gate (barriers aren’t his favorite), so slow, thoughtful introductions are best. Once he knows you’re a friend, he’s all in.   The vet isn’t his favorite place — it’s stressful for him — but at home, Bruce is a sweetheart through and through. He’s affectionate, loyal, and just wants a calm, steady home where he can finally relax and be someone’s constant companion.   If you’ve been looking for a devoted little buddy who’ll follow you from room to room and make you feel like the most important person in the world, Bruce is ready to fill that spot.
