Story
OTHER PETS: Toby has been comfortable with other dogs, and seems to read body language well too. He would likely be a good match for another relaxed, social dog in the home, but as always will need to meet any dogs he will be living with prior to adoption. [Likely (Must Meet First)]OWNER EXPERIENCE: Toby is an easy-going dog, but he is older and may need more intensive vet care than a young dog. He would do best with someone that has an established relationship with a vet to ensure that he continues to age gracefully, and remains comfortable throughout his years. [Some Experience]KIDS: Toby has been tolerant of handling and hasn't shown any signs of resource guarding while at TJO. He could be a good match for a family with kids, but he is still an older dog and may not like to play as much as a higher-energy dog. Interactions between children and dogs should always be actively monitored to ensure that both parties remain comfortable and safe. [Likely (Must Meet First)]ACTIVITY LEVEL: Toby doesn't have as much interest in toys or running around as he probably used to. He's more interested in spending time with his favorite people, and is just as happy to laze around as he is to take a leisurely walk around the block. Interests may change in a new home, a combination of regular exercise and plenty of mental enrichment will help meet his needs. [Couch Potato]VETERINARY CARE: Toby is currently in need of a dental that TJO will provide. He may also have some renal issues that we are currently waiting on the blood test results for. [Above Average / Intensive]LEVEL OF TRAINING NEEDED: Positive reinforcement training will help Toby not only learn his basic cues & skills, but also help him to bond with his new owner as well. [Minimal]GROOMING: Because of his fur texture, Toby will require routine brushing to ensure that he does not become matted. [Routine Brushing]February 18, 2026, 6:04 pm

Story
This dog is up to date on vaccinations and is spayed or neutered. (Please note: Puppies under 3 months old may not be sterilized prior to adoption. If this is the case, your adoption coordinator will provide guidance on the process.)   To adopt or learn more about this dog, you must complete an adoption application, which can be found on our website: www.sandypawsrescue.com.   PLEASE READ:     •    If a dog or puppy is listed, they are currently available for adoption. However, they may already be pending an adoption, and their profile may not yet reflect this.     •    All information is accurate to the best of our knowledge as of the posting date.     •    Unless explicitly stated, Sandy Paws Rescue does not guarantee the breed of any dog. Breeds listed are educated guesses made by shelter staff, volunteers, or veterinarians. Many of our dogs are mixed breeds, often with pit bull-type genetics, resulting in a wide variety of physical traits and temperaments.   Our dogs come from various situations, such as kill shelters, owner surrenders, or as strays. It is likely both parents were mixed breeds as well.   Sandy Paws Rescue does not have a public shelter in Massachusetts. Our dogs reside in private foster homes or boarding kennels in the South until adopted. Many dogs are spoken for prior to transport or release from state-mandated isolation.   For information on adoption fees, procedures, or FAQs, visit our website: www.sandypawsrescue.com.   The FIRST step in adopting from Sandy Paws Rescue is to submit a completed adoption application.   ##2660890##

Story
Drake and Maye are a deeply bonded pair who came to the shelter after the heartbreaking loss of their owner. After so much change, these boys are simply looking for a soft, steady place to land and a family to call their own again.Drake is the shyer of the two at first and may need a little time to feel comfortable. Once he knows you, he melts into a happy puddle of snuggles, happily flinging himself into laps and soaking up attention. He also enjoys long walks and time spent close to his people. Maye is the steady, confident presence in their partnership. He helps Drake feel brave and is often the first to greet new friends, offering quiet reassurance along the way.Drake is currently on a weight-loss journey and will need to be fed separately from Maye to help him stay on track. Their adopters should be prepared to continue supporting healthy routines for both boys.If there are children in the home, teens and older would be the best fit. Drake and Maye are ready to bring comfort, companionship, and quiet loyalty to a home that will cherish them together. If you are interested in adopting these wonderful senior boys, please visit the shelter on Mondays, Wednesdays, or Thursdays between 12–4pm. Their combined adoption fee is $200 for both. If you are unable to visit during those hours, please email dogs@worcesterarl.org to inquire about scheduling an appointment.

Story
Adoptable in: MA, RI, NH, CT, and VTGood with dogs: Yes, with proper introductionsGood with cats: UnknownGood with kids: Older kids only (13+)Crate trained: YesHouse trained: YesHave you met Daisy? Don’t let her tiny stature fool you. This pint-sized powerhouse is an active, adventure-loving pup who’s always ready to tag along for fun. Daisy’s idea of a perfect day includes a car ride to the beach, splashing and romping through the water, playing a rousing game of fetch, and finishing it all off with a well-earned pupsicle. Whether her people work from home, head into the office, or work hybrid, Daisy is impressively adaptable and just happy to be part of the routine.Daisy is both house trained and crate trained, and she does great even on full office days as long as she gets her extra outdoor time for walks or backyard play. In the evenings, she transforms into a master nest builder. Oversized fuzzy blankets are her specialty, and once she’s cocooned, you may catch her gently suckling and kneading as she drifts off to sleep.Daisy has lived with other dogs and would do best with a calm, gentle canine companion, especially with slow and thoughtful introductions. While she hasn’t lived with cats, she shows little to no interest in them on neighborhood walks. Daisy would thrive in an adult home or one with older, dog-savvy kids (13+).Daisy is bursting with charm and character. From her signature chihuahua squint side-eye, to the way she locks onto her ball with laser focus, to her precious grin, she brightens her people’s lives daily. Daisy is making steady progress with leash walking especially given a consistent routine. Daisy is looking for a family that can continue helping her build confidence and feel secure in her world.Full of spunk, sweetness, and affection, Daisy is ready to bring joy, laughter, and a whole lot of heart into her future family’s life. Are you ready to welcome this spirited little sidekick home? Please Note: All dogs currently available for adoption are posted on our website. If you cannot find a particular dog on our website, he/she may be on a temporary foster hold. All dogs are otherwise posted until they are officially adopted. This dog may have other interested adopters in line. If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an application.February 13, 2026, 11:52 pm
