Story
Liv is the kind of little dog who makes people smile the moment they meet her. This sweet chihuahua mix arrived at the shelter as a stray after going through some difficult circumstances, but you would never know it from her bright, loving personality. Liv has truly been a little angel at the shelter, happily making new friends with both people and other dogs. She loves going for walks, soaking up attention, and never says no to a tasty treat. Liv recently had surgery at WARL to remove a diseased eye, and she is now feeling so much more comfortable and ready for her fresh start. If you are interested in adopting Liv, please come to the shelter on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays between 12-4pm. If you are unable to visit during those hours please email dogs@worcesterarl.org to see what times may be available by appointment, Liv is looking for a home that will cherish her gentle, happy spirit and continue giving her the love and care she deserves. She may be able to live with respectful children, but everyone should meet first to make sure it is a good fit.

Story
Kari is a sweet little Chihuahua/Dachshund mix with a bright personality and a hopeful heart. She came to the shelter due to housing difficulties and is ready for a fresh start with people who will love her for the wonderful little dog she is.Kari has lived with other dogs before and may be able to share her new home with another canine companion, they would have to meet first. She has also enjoyed meeting new people at the shelter, though she can be a little shy at first while she settles in and gets comfortable and SO SWEET. One of Kari’s favorite things is getting outside for walks and exploring the world around her. She would love a home where she can continue her little adventures, enjoy a cozy routine, and be cherished friend. If there are children in the home, they should be older and respectful of a dog`s space. Any kids should meet Kari first to make sure everyone is a good fit. Kari does not always want people to try to take food away from her ( who does?) but it is harder for kids to understand this concept. If you are interested in adopting Kari, please come to the shelter during our walk-in hours on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays between 12-4pm. If you are unable to come during those times, please email DOGS@WORCESTERARL.ORG to see what other times may be available by appointment

Story
*Every dog is unique, and behaviors may change as they adjust and settle into their new home environment.*OTHER PETS:Jasper has been tolerant, curious, and interested in the dogs he has met while at TJO. He may do well with another dog companion after a safe and slow introduction. A meet and greet is required to ensure a good fit.OWNER EXPERIENCE: Experience with positive reinforcement or willingness to learn. Jasper can be nervous around unfamiliar people and may become defensive when he feels unsure. However, once he has time to build trust and feel comfortable, he can be affectionate and may actively seek out interaction. He would do best with a patient adopter who understands that allowing him to approach and set the pace will help shy dogs gain confidence and build a bond. First-time dog owners may be considered if they are committed to using positive reinforcement and giving Jasper the time he needs to adjust.KIDS: Jasper can be wary of new people and needs time to warm up. We recommend a home with children aged 13 years and older. Any children in the household should meet Jasper prior to adoption to ensure everyone is comfortable. Active supervision of child-dog interactions is a must.ACTIVITY LEVEL:Jasper has a playful side and enjoys rolling around and engaging with people once he feels safe. He would make a great walking companion and would benefit from regular exercise, enrichment, and playtime to help build his confidence and strengthen his bond with his family. A combination of regular exercise and mental enrichment such as food puzzles and scent games will help meet his needs. VETERINARY CARE:Jasper is expected to need routine veterinary care, including regular wellness visits, vaccinations, parasite prevention, and dental care.LEVEL OF TRAINING NEEDED:Jasper will thrive with positive reinforcement as he learns new skills and fun tricks. Gentle guidance, patience, and reward-based methods will help him continue to come out of his shell and succeed in his new home.GROOMING:Jasper has minimal grooming needs. Regular brushing, nail trims, and routine bathing as needed will help keep him healthy and comfortable.May 14, 2026, 6:17 pm

Story
Meet Roy, a sensitive soul looking for a patient heart to call his own. While he’s a bit shy at first, this tiny shadow is a loyal companion just waiting for the right person to earn his trust. 🐾 Slow & Steady: He’s nervous with new faces and needs a family that will let him settle in at his own pace. 🧀 Foodie: Very food-motivated! Tasty treats are the quickest way to his heart and a great tool for his continued training. 🐶 Social Butterfly: Roy loves other pets! He is actually more social when other dogs are around and has lived successfully with cats. 🧸 Busy Bee: A serious chewer!
