Story
Meet Mighty Mouse!Mighty Mouse is another pup that's going to need a very special someone that understands how particular, bossy, and sassy chihuahuas can be. Mighty Mouse is about two years old, absolutely gorgeous (as you can see) and also very, very deaf. VERY deaf. This means he can't really hear himself bark so he tends to bark loudly and incessantly when he gets riled up so shared walls/apartment complexes may not be the best environment for this shouty little man. He's a little under 14lbs but what he lacks in size he makes up for with an attitude the size of Texas. He takes a bit to warm up to people but once he does, he definitely plays favorites. He does well with other dogs but not with cats. He's sweet with people (once he likes you) and loves going for walks. He also loves his treats/snacks and likes to bury them and then forget they exist. With the right amount of sweet talking, Mighty Mouse will be your best friend...but you need to be willing to GO SLOW with him. He isn't the kind of dog that you can just swoop down and scoop up right away because he can and will throw hands while screaming vulgarities (probably). If you've had a difficult dog in the past and are used to the attitude and the judgmental side eye, Mighty Mouse might be the guy for you. We're looking for an adult only home (older teenagers should be fine as well) that has the patience and the drive to put in the effort with him...because he is incredible once you melt that icy Fight Club exterior.

This dog is up to date on vaccinations and is spayed or neutered. (Please note: Puppies under 3 months old may not be sterilized prior to adoption. If this is the case, your adoption coordinator will provide guidance on the process.)   To adopt or learn more about this dog, you must complete an adoption application, which can be found on our website: www.sandypawsrescue.com.   PLEASE READ:     •    If a dog or puppy is listed, they are currently available for adoption. However, they may already be pending an adoption, and their profile may not yet reflect this.     •    All information is accurate to the best of our knowledge as of the posting date.     •    Unless explicitly stated, Sandy Paws Rescue does not guarantee the breed of any dog. Breeds listed are educated guesses made by shelter staff, volunteers, or veterinarians. Many of our dogs are mixed breeds, often with pit bull-type genetics, resulting in a wide variety of physical traits and temperaments.   Our dogs come from various situations, such as kill shelters, owner surrenders, or as strays. It is likely both parents were mixed breeds as well.   Sandy Paws Rescue does not have a public shelter in Massachusetts. Our dogs reside in private foster homes or boarding kennels in the South until adopted. Many dogs are spoken for prior to transport or release from state-mandated isolation.   For information on adoption fees, procedures, or FAQs, visit our website: www.sandypawsrescue.com.   The FIRST step in adopting from Sandy Paws Rescue is to submit a completed adoption application.   ##2636762##

Story
Yes, she’s as cute as a button. And yes, she really is 4 .   Button is a tiny young adult with a huge love for cuddling and being close to her people. She’s sweet, affectionate, and happiest curled up in a warm lap or tucked safely beside you. Found as a stray in rural Texas, she somehow held onto the softest, gentlest personality.   She’s dog friendly with other small dogs, but because of her size, we’re thoughtful about her social circle. We haven’t introduced her to larger dogs, and we won’t be tossing her into chaotic group play. Button deserves calm, safe interactions and people who understand that 3 lbs requires common sense. She's loving her foster brother and sister.  We are working on potty training and leash training.  She's not great at either yet. Because she’s so petite, Button will be placed with her size in mind. Homes with very young children will need to be evaluated carefully, as accidental bumps and falls can be a real risk for dogs this small. She’s not fragile emotionally, but physically? Yes. And that matters.   If you’re looking for a loving, pocket-sized companion who wants nothing more than to be adored and protected, Button might be your girl.   Tiny dog. Big heart. Zero doubt she knows she’s special. Story
Gina is a 7-month-old Chihuahua weighing just under 10 pounds, and she has absolutely no idea she’s small. She’s bright, expressive, and full of personality in the best way.   She loves playing with dogs her size and has a hilarious habit of “smiling” and doing little dance moves when she’s excited. Her wiggly tail is nonstop entertainment, and when playtime winds down, she’s happiest curled up in a lap soaking up attention.   Gina is crate trained and potty trained, which already puts her ahead of the game for a young pup. She prefers being carried or handled over long leash walks and is still gaining confidence with leashes, so a patient adopter who understands small-dog quirks will be key.   She’s affectionate, social, and thrives with people who enjoy having a little shadow by their side.   Rescue story: Gina was found wandering near the woods during a freezing week in Houston. Thankfully, the person who found her was a dog rescuer, and she was brought to safety just in time. Now she’s warm, loved, and ready for a home that will never let her be cold or alone again.   Gina is small, but her presence is anything but.   This dog is up to date on vaccinations and is spayed. (Please note: Puppies under 3 months old may not be sterilized prior to adoption. If this is the case, your adoption coordinator will provide guidance on the process.) Story
Meet Bruce   Bruce is the definition of a sidekick — the kind of little guy who wants to be part of everything you do. He’s small, snuggly, and happiest when he’s tucked right up next to his person.   He’s crate trained, great in the house, and gets along well with both dogs and cats. He can get a little worked up if another dog’s behind a gate (barriers aren’t his favorite), so slow, thoughtful introductions are best. Once he knows you’re a friend, he’s all in.   The vet isn’t his favorite place — it’s stressful for him — but at home, Bruce is a sweetheart through and through. He’s affectionate, loyal, and just wants a calm, steady home where he can finally relax and be someone’s constant companion.   If you’ve been looking for a devoted little buddy who’ll follow you from room to room and make you feel like the most important person in the world, Bruce is ready to fill that spot.
