Story
Hey Y'all, Our names are Beans (F), Dixie (F), and Merle (F). Our momma's name is Hairy, and she weighs about 17 pounds. The daddy dog belonged to the neighbor and weighed about the same size. He was as cute as our mom. Here we are and just the cutest, sweetest, snuggle bugs you have ever seen. We have only been around two humans. The day these pictures were taken was the first time we had met strangers. We were very shy and only wanted to be held by our human momma. We are tiny and would be great as a lap baby or carried in a purse or backpack. We are not big barkers. We are dog-social and not house-trained. We have even met a few cats, but they are much bigger than we are. My ideal family would have patience and love for a snuggler like me, live a quiet lifestyle (I live in the country), and I would, in turn, always give you all the love I have to offer. Please send an email to alittlelonger2home@gmail.com and request an application. I am waiting. Beans Female Not spayed Breed Chihuahua mix Color Tri-color Age 12 weeks (As of 12/06/2024) Weight 8 lbs Loves people but has not met any children yet, dogs/puppies, and cats/kittens (all new experiences) Adoption donation $625

Story
Help Suzy’s Beloved Seniors Find a Forever HomeThis is Jax - an amazingly sweet boy of 14-15 years - his family gave him up to Suzy when they had a baby - what we know is that he's had his vaccinations, he's had his teeth cleaned (what's left), and vaccines - he does have a Grade 3-4 heart murmur - we are exploring medications if needed or will help. The Memphis rescue community recently lost a beloved member, Suzy of Meadow Wood Rescue, who dedicated her life to saving countless needy dogs. Following her passing, fellow rescuers have stepped in to ensure her personal dogs and rescues find loving homes. With a three-month timeline to transition these dogs, we’re focusing on rehoming her senior dogs—the ones most in need and missing their mom deeply.Paws New England is honored to assist with this effort. All the dogs have been placed in foster homes where they are settling in and adjusting well, though understandably confused and grieving. Suzy cared for these sweet seniors well, but they required updates on vaccinations, dental cleanings, and some surgical procedures. Much of this care has been completed thanks to generous community donations and veterinary support. We’re just beginning to discover each dog's unique personality and are committed to finding them loving, permanent homes as soon as possible. While we know the basics of their behavior, house training, and visible health, potential adopters should be aware that, due to limited resources, we haven’t conducted extensive tests for underlying conditions like kidney or liver issues. This is where you come in. By adopting one of Suzy’s cherished seniors, you’re offering a second chance to a needy dog—saving them from the shelter system and providing comfort in their golden years. Your home could be their sanctuary as they embark on the next chapter of their journey.Name: Jax MeadwooodBreed: Chihuahua/CrossbreedSex: MaleAge: 14 - 15 years  (estimated)Weight: 10.0Spayed/Neutered: YesVaccinations: Up to dateHeartworm: UnknownMicrochipped: YesBASED ON OUR OBSERVATIONS:Good with Children: Over 12Good with Dogs: YesGood with Cats: UnknownAdoption Fee: $275.00Location of dog currently: Cape CodIMPORTANT INFORMATION - Paws New England is a foster-based rescue - our dogs reside in various locations throughout the south and New England.  Adoption donations cover pre-adoption vet costs (including vaccinations, spay/neuter when age appropriate, and heartworm testing/treatment when necessary), a microchip, and transportation to New England if necessary.Donations for our young, healthy puppies and dogs support their fellow canines of advanced age or suffering from injuries and abuse whose donations are reduced but whose veterinary costs are typically much higher. is up to date on vaccinations and is spayed or neutered. (puppies under the age of 6 months may not be sterilized prior to adoption, if this is the case your adoption coordinator will discuss the process with you). To adopt or learn more about: , you must fill out an adoption application. To find the application, visit our website: WWW.SANDYPAWSRESCUE.COM ** PLEASE READ: If a dog/puppy is listed, then s/he is currently available for adoption. Their information is correct to the best of our abilities and the information we have been given as of the day of posting. In some cases this dog may be pending an adoption already, and their profile has not been updated yet. Please note, SPR does not guarantee the breed of any dog or puppy unless stated otherwise. All breeds listed are educated best estimates by transferring shelter staff, our volunteers or our vets. The dog may have some genetic material of an American Staffordshire Terrier (pit bull). The dogs are usually mixes of many breeds, making them the All American MUTT. Our dogs are rescued from various situations (kill-shelters, owner surrenders, strays, etc). It is most likely that both their parents were strays and mixes of some sort. If you are interested in this dog, you MUST submit an application. Sandy Paws Rescue does not a have a public shelter in Mass, so there is no building you can visit without an appointment. Our dogs live in private foster homes or boarding kennels down south until adopted, and foster care homes through out MV, Cape Cod and other parts of MA. A majority of our dogs are adopted/spoken for prior to transport and release from state mandated isolation. To learn more about our rescue, adoption fees, and procedures, review the list of FAQ’s on our website at WWW.SANDYPAWSRESCUE.COM **The FIRST step in adopting an animal from our rescue is to submit a completed adoption application.
