Story
Cow is 7 years old, neutered and vaccinated. He is a loyal, affectionate dog who bonds closely with his person. He does best in a calm, adult-only home with no children and no large dogs. He may be okay with other small dogs after slow, proper introductions. He has a sensitive stomach and requires very gradual diet changes, as sudden switches can cause GI upset. On walks, his leash manners are a work in progress and he would benefit from consistent, positive-reinforcement training. Looking for a patient, experienced owner who understands small-breed dogs and can provide a stable home. Urgent rehoming due to sudden life changes. Adopter must complete application and agree to follow-up via text in 6 months.

Story
Meet Mighty Mouse!Mighty Mouse is another pup that's going to need a very special someone that understands how particular, bossy, and sassy chihuahuas can be. Mighty Mouse is about two years old, absolutely gorgeous (as you can see) and also very, very deaf. VERY deaf. This means he can't really hear himself bark so he tends to bark loudly and incessantly when he gets riled up so shared walls/apartment complexes may not be the best environment for this shouty little man. He's a little under 14lbs but what he lacks in size he makes up for with an attitude the size of Texas. He takes a bit to warm up to people but once he does, he definitely plays favorites. He does well with other dogs but not with cats. He's sweet with people (once he likes you) and loves going for walks. He also loves his treats/snacks and likes to bury them and then forget they exist. With the right amount of sweet talking, Mighty Mouse will be your best friend...but you need to be willing to GO SLOW with him. He isn't the kind of dog that you can just swoop down and scoop up right away because he can and will throw hands while screaming vulgarities (probably). If you've had a difficult dog in the past and are used to the attitude and the judgmental side eye, Mighty Mouse might be the guy for you. We're looking for an adult only home (older teenagers should be fine as well) that has the patience and the drive to put in the effort with him...because he is incredible once you melt that icy Fight Club exterior.

Story
Meet Mickey & Missy!A tiny terrier duo looking for their forever home together! Mickey and Missy are both seven year old terrier/chihuahua mixes. Mickey, the silver fox, is about 11.5lbs while Missy, the beautiful blonde, is about 8.5lbs.If you're looking for two little sprigs of sentient dandelion fluff to bop and frolic around your house, these two are IT for you. Both are nervous nellies at first which is understandable because this is a brand new environment and there is A LOT going on here. If you were only 9lbs and random hairless giants kept picking you up, you'd probably be terrified of life too. Once they have time to settle (which, honestly, takes barely any time at all), they are all about being in your lap and wanting attention. Mickey is SLIGHTLY more outgoing than Missy...but not by much.Neither of them have much interest in toys at the moment, though that could always change once they're settled in their new home. Right now, they prefer just paling around with each other and with people. They're both pretty good on a leash, mainly because they're small and can't take you for a ride if they see something interesting. They're mild-mannered, low-energy, scruffy gremlins but are still definitely capable of the occasional zoom. would do best in a quiet home without a ton of comings and goings. Other dogs are fine (though Mickey can be sassy in the sense that if another dog gives him attitude, he'll give it right back) and cats are fine as well. Older kids (12+) would be best. To apply, visit foreverpaws.com and click adopt to download our application. Once complete, you can email it to us at fpas1@foreverpaws.com or fax it to us at 508-677-9175.

Story
Gina is a 7-month-old Chihuahua weighing just under 10 pounds, and she has absolutely no idea she’s small. She’s bright, expressive, and full of personality in the best way.   She loves playing with dogs her size and has a hilarious habit of “smiling” and doing little dance moves when she’s excited. Her wiggly tail is nonstop entertainment, and when playtime winds down, she’s happiest curled up in a lap soaking up attention.   Gina is crate trained and potty trained, which already puts her ahead of the game for a young pup. She prefers being carried or handled over long leash walks and is still gaining confidence with leashes, so a patient adopter who understands small-dog quirks will be key.   She’s affectionate, social, and thrives with people who enjoy having a little shadow by their side.   Rescue story: Gina was found wandering near the woods during a freezing week in Houston. Thankfully, the person who found her was a dog rescuer, and she was brought to safety just in time. Now she’s warm, loved, and ready for a home that will never let her be cold or alone again.   Gina is small. Her presence is anything but.   This dog is up to date on vaccinations and is spayed. (Please note: Puppies under 3 months old may not be sterilized prior to adoption. If this is the case, your adoption coordinator will provide guidance on the process.) To adopt or learn more about this dog, you must complete an adoption application, which can be found on our website: www.sandypawsrescue.com. PLEASE READ:  •    If a dog or puppy is listed, they are currently available for adoption. However, they may already be pending an adoption, and their profile may not yet reflect this.  •    All information is accurate to the best of our knowledge as of the posting date.    •    Unless explicitly stated, Sandy Paws Rescue does not guarantee the breed of any dog. Breeds listed are educated guesses made by shelter staff, volunteers, or veterinarians. Many of our dogs are mixed breeds, often with pit bull-type genetics, resulting in a wide variety of physical traits and temperaments. Our dogs come from various situations, such as kill shelters, owner surrenders, or as strays. It is likely both parents were mixed breeds as well. Sandy Paws Rescue does not have a public shelter in Massachusetts. Our dogs reside in private foster homes or boarding kennels in the South until adopted. Many dogs are spoken for prior to transport or release from state-mandated isolation. For information on adoption fees, procedures, or FAQs, visit our website: www.sandypawsrescue.com. The FIRST step in adopting from Sandy Paws Rescue is to submit a completed adoption application. Sandy Paws Rescue’s MA license number # 0272 ##2631199##
