Story
Autumn is a small, affectionate 7 year old dog. My stepmother took her in years ago, after her mother pressured her heavily to take her in and threatened to dump her outside. Unfortunately, my family is not financially, experience-wise, or time-wise able to care for her and have finally come to terms with this recently. She needs potty training but is not aggressive or destructive. She is spayed, and has no known health issues but has recently had irritation and hair loss on her backside which we cannot afford to take her to the vet for. She is very friendly with cats, not friendly with dogs as she has not been accustomed to them. Do not know how she handles young children but she is friendly and non-reactive. Is ok with men but peferes women and would be best with a woman as the adopter or in the home. The decision to rehome her is not made lightly as she is loved but we simply cannot care for her. Please only apply if you have the patience and love to give her a forever home!

Story
Meet Raffe Short for Giraffe because of his long neck, Raffe is a one-of-a-kind pup with a big personality and a heart that knows exactly what it wants. He’s looking for an adult-only home with someone who understands that love doesn’t always have to be loud or constant. Raffe enjoys attention, but very much on his own terms. He bonds deeply with people who respect his boundaries and let him choose when it’s time for affection. When you earn his trust, he’ll happily share quiet companionship, gentle affection, and his charming presence. This special guy will thrive with a patient, dog-savvy adult who can read canine body language and appreciate a dog who values independence as much as connection. In the right home, Raffe will be a loyal, rewarding companion who proves that the best relationships are built on mutual respect. If you’re someone who believes love is about understanding and consent, Raffe may be your perfect match

Story
Mucho Grande — Small Dog, Huge Heart!  When Mucho Grande first arrived at Manhattan ACC, his tiny body trembled with fear. Labeled “New Hope Only” for growling and snapping, this little 15-pound pup was simply terrified — a world that hadn’t shown him kindness left him unsure who to trust.  But thanks to love, patience, and a caring foster home in Binghamton, Mucho’s story is turning into one of hope. Bit by bit, he’s letting his walls down — trading fear for tail wags, and learning that gentle hands mean comfort, not harm.  Now just over 2 years old, Mucho Grande is blossoming into a sweet, loyal companion who just needs the right person to help him keep believing in the good. Once he knows you’re a friend, his heart opens wide — full of affection, devotion, and the cutest little snuggles you could imagine.  Mucho’s Perfect Home:  Best with dogs his own size (big pups can be a little scary)  Cat-friendly!  Best with older kids (15+)  Needs a patient, gentle person who understands that trust takes time Mucho may be small, but his heart is mighty — and he’s ready to find his forever person who will love him just as he is. Story
Meet Alvin (12 pounds), a small senior boy looking for a home (and a hula hoop) for the holidays! Alvin can be slow to warm up to new people and tends to be picky about new friends in general. Once he is comfortable with you, be prepared to have a little shadow! With his buddies, Alvin loves to be doted on, held and petted (but please don’t assume he wants your friends to do the same). Since he can`t tell us exactly what his likes and dislikes are, we are looking for humans who can read his body language and advocate for him out in the world when needed. We think his ideal home would be on the quiet side, with adults or older teens only, and without a lot of strangers coming and going. Alvin finds it challenging to share his prized items and people with other dogs, so he may be happiest as your one and only. If you think Alvin is the type of guy you`re looking for, stop by the shelter and ask to meet him!
