This little Chihuahua Princess is called Giselle. A lovely and delicate 2 year old 8.5 pound girl that once was part of a hoarding situation in a small town in Middle Tennessee.over 15 Chihuahuas were removed from a home where they were living in horrible conditions and no one was spayed or neutered. We found this precious girl in the mix where she was among so many male Chis, but fortunately she was not pregnant. It took a little time to gain her trust and confidence that where she was now, was a place of love and safety. She is such a snuggle bug and starting to blossom into a precious little pocketbook traveler. She is almost housebroken and she sleeps through the night in the bed with her foster mom and her 3 Yorkies. Everyone has welcomed her into the dog pack at her foster home and she feels so comfortable flirting with the boys and running in and out of the doggie door to feel the fresh Spring grass under her tiny little princess size feet. She is a Deerhead Chihuahua and should be no bigger than 9-10 pounds when her good and healthy weight is fully gained. A true Chihuahua loving home is what she needs. She will be such a diva Princess that will bring years of great joy to anyone's life. Straight from NYC ACC, he was found abandoned in a carrier in the lobby of an apartment building. While he was understandably shaken up and nervous at the shelter, within 2 hours of settling in he started to open up and let his personality REALLY shine. He is incredibly goofy and is such a ham- not to mention he LOVES toys and happily gathers all the toys in his vicinity to keep watch over. Once he’s tuckered himself out from playing fetch, he is delighted to curl up in your lap for a nap.

Submit an adoption application at socialteesnyc.org Level of dog ownership experience required:BEGINNER – “Beginner” doesn’t necessarily mean easy as all dogs will require time, work, and patience, but we predict this dog will be low on the challenge scale because of their breed/age combo. Potentially a good fit for someone who has relevant dog care experience (fostering, dog sitting) and is looking to adopt their first pup. Energy level:MEDIUM – Needs a daily 60-90 minute walk or window of quick paced exercise (minimum) in addition to potty break strolls (10-30 min each). Also needs significant socializing opportunities outside the home and mental stimulation at home like tricks training practice, chew items, and puzzle toys. (This is regardless of dog size – many small breeds were designed for lots of activity and will exhibit unwanted behavior when they’re understimulated.) Okay in the city?We don’t know yet because this pup is brand new to us. Most adult dogs do well in the city after they’ve had time to adjust to a new environment, but some never adapt and need homes in the burbs. Potty trained?Probably! Adults usually are, but all will have transitional accidents for the first week or so. A consistent walking route and schedule plus finding spots with grass or dirt can help. Social with other dogs?Yes, but we don’t know to what degree yet. Some like to wrestle with every passing pup, others can coexist well but prefer to keep to themselves. We’ll learn more soon. Social with cats?Not sure yet! Some breed mixes that are generally NOT great matches for homes with cats include large hounds, huskies, and shepherds. Comfortable with children? (ALWAYS requires adult supervision)We’re not sure yet, but we try to err on the side of caution. Respectful kids ages 8 and up are probably a safe bet. Children must always be monitored and taught to interact with dogs of any age carefully. Medical status:Healthy as far as we know. Up to date on their DHPP, Bordetella, and Rabies vaccines; heartworm tested if coming from Tennessee or Puerto Rico; spayed/neutered; microchipped; treated with dewormer upon intake How did this dog end up with Social Tees?Most of our dogs come via partner groups who help us save them from shelters where they are at risk of euthanasia in Tennessee, Los Angeles, and Puerto Rico. There are very few spay/neuter resources there and many more animals in those areas than there are people to adopt them. Rescue groups like ours bring them to the northeast where the desire for pets like these allows us to save their lives. PLEASE NOTE: We cannot guarantee any breed mix, exact age, or full grown size (if the dog is under a year old). We do our best with very educated guesses.
