Bruno was found living on the street in Washington State shortly before we moved to New York. He did not have a chip and looked as if he was living outside for months, so we kept him. He is very sweet and has never bitten or growled at my husband or I but he is very fearful of other dogs. We have never seen him around a cat so we aren’t sure of how he feels about them. Bruno is very snuggly and likes to spend most of his days taking a nap with his people. He is trained to use puppy pads and most of the time he is very good with them. We have not lived somewhere with a yard so we have not been able to fully house train him. Since he is not neutered, he will sometimes try to mark things that are left on the floor. He’s done this more since I’ve been pregnant. We are sad to have to rehome Bruno, but with a baby on the way we cannot afford to neuter him and I will not be able to keep up with him if he increases territorial marking after the baby is born. We want to find him a great home!

Meet Dave! An adorable almost 6-month-old–Chi mix. Dave is arriving to NYC on Saturday, April 18, and is eligible for our foster-to-adopt program. We anticipate Dave will need a 1 quick medical visit for a routine blood draw during his foster stay. Age appropriately vaccinated for rabies, DHPP, and bordetella, spayed and microchipped. Current on flea, tick, and heartworm prevention and recently dewormed. To apply for Dave, visit our website (www.waggytailrescue.org) for an adoption application. Grant is a handsome 1-year-old, 15-pound Chihuahua with the most charming white sock “leggings” that make him truly stand out. He’s a tall little boy with a big heart, and though he can be a bit nervous at first, he is making remarkable progress in just two weeks with us. Like a child a little afraid of the dark, Grant simply needs patience, love, and gentle reassurance. Once he feels safe, he will gladly curl up in your lap, soak up attention, and shower you with affection. He is good with other dogs, though sometimes a little bossy at first—likely a habit from his uncertain past—but he quickly backs down once he feels secure. Grant is mostly housebroken and does well in a home without a crate. He is a climber and clever little adventurer, so confining him isn’t the best idea. He thrives when allowed to move freely, and he won’t tear anything up. Grant is a small dog with enormous potential to become a loving, devoted companion for the right person. He is ready to blossom in a home that will give him the patience and affection he deserves, one cozy, comforting day at a time.
