Story
Hello Everyone,My name is Spencer, and I am estimated to be around 11 months old. I am a chihuahua and dachshund mix. but as most people call me a Chiweenie. I was surrendered to Stray Haven due to my having a little too much energy with my previous owners' senior dogs. I am a very sweet boy and love to give lots of kisses and cuddles. I would do best in a home with an older family that has time on their hands to spend with me. I am looking for a home where I can be the king of the household. I don't like to share the attention with other animals. I get nervous around small children so a home with older children or grandkids would be best for me.Stray Haven Humane Society & SPCA194 Shepard Rd., Waverly, NY 14892(607) 565-2859, www.strayhavenspca.org Open hours:Tuesday-Friday 10am-5pmSaturday-Sunday 10am-4pmClosed on Mondays

Story
CROSSPOSTING for another rescue group Meet Mister! This is my new foster boy, Mister. I am fostering him for Tall Tails Rescue and Transport. He’s about 2 years old and when you look up “Velcro dog” in the dictionary, you see his picture. He’s a combination of sweet and silly. He gets along just fine with other little dogs and was uninterested in the cat. His favorite obsessions include: 1. Stealing foster moms shoes. Not chewing them, just moving them to a new location. 2. Scaling walls and jumping leaps and bounds to get to his human. (Again, not destructive, he just has a touch of the Single White Female gene. Obsess much?) 3. Chewing his bully stick. 4. Taste testing every single bowl of food, just a nibble. He’s making sure it’s safe to eat. Mister also appears to be housebroken. He has not peed or pooped or attempted to mark in my home. He is a chihuahua mixed with kangaroo. He would love someone to share EVERYTHING with. If you’re doin it, so is he! A smart boy with so much love to give. Currently in NY but can be adopted anywhere if you’re willing to drive for him. Email talltailstransport@yahoo.com for an application.

Story
Scrappy is another NYC ACC alumni, a gentle little soul with a heart of gold. He bonds quickly and tightly with a quiet, loving leader. Scrappy is a sable-colored, neutered, 13lbs Chihuahua and approximately 11 years young. He is housebroken and walks very well on a  leash. Scrappy has a heart murmur and horrific breath and is awaiting his dental appointment in January to be ready for lots of kisses with his new family. He is both cat and dog friendly, very well mannered  and rides nicely in a car. He is not your typical yappy little dog by any means, and is actually quite quiet in the house, without any destructive behaviors. Scrappy likes people but as he can be a little shy, introductions should be slow and at Scrappy's own pace. He sometimes can still be a little nervous but in only two weeks has gotten pretty comfortable in his foster home. He's a very happy, faithful and loyal little dog who wants nothing more than a loving forever home. Scrappy is being fostered in Freehold, NJMay 1, 2024, 12:13 am
