Story
🐾 Zero — The Hug-Powered Hero Zero might only weigh 25 pounds, but he’s running pure main-character energy. This scrappy Chi-Terrier mix grew up on the tough streets of SoCal, dodging trouble and charming snacks out of strangers. These days, he’s traded back-alley hustle for hero duty — keeping watch, calling out suspicious noises, and making sure his person always knows when something’s up. But when the coast is clear? That’s when Zero unleashes his real superpower — the full-body hug. He leans in with everything he’s got, melting right into you until the world disappears. Then, just when your heart can’t take any more sweetness, he flips over and offers his belly like a tiny furry trust fall. Zero’s the perfect blend of alert dog and emotional support specialist: part security system, part therapy blanket. He’s loyal, funny, and always game for a snack break after patrol. Special Skills: 💞 Hug attack (melts humans instantly) 🔊 Early-warning bark system 🐾 Expert belly-rub receiver 🦴 Snack detection radar Zero’s ready to find his hero — someone who appreciates enthusiasm, loyalty, and the power of one perfectly timed hug.

Story
Rachel 2 years, spayed female, 18 lbs Terrier mix   LIKES: Walks, treats, cooking, relaxing in a comfy spot, cuddles   DISLIKES: sub-freezing temperatures, strangers reaching for her (she will retreat)   PERSONALITY TRAITS: Rachel is a smart, medium-low energy girl with lots of personality. S    POTTY TRAINING STATUS: Yes.    CRATE TRAINING STATUS: Sleeps quietly in her crate all night long. Is very comfortable hanging out in her crate during down time, as well.    EXTRAS/MISC.: Rachel is a very sweet, low maintenance pup. beautiful coloring and very expressive eyes. She does well on a leash, though she is still learning and sometimes freezes up or tries to run when encountering strangers or other dogs. She shows interest in dogs, but is still a bit timid sometimes. No known experience with cats.  She is a bit of a foodie and has shown the ability to open low cabinets to search out a snack. Doggie proofing is highly recommended.   To further inquire about RACHEL, submit an application.   Tell us about yourself, family, other pets, and how RACHEL will mesh with your lifestyle. Story
Gomez 1 year, neutered male, 10 lb Chihuahua mix LIKES: Blankets, spooning, TOUCHING HIS PERSON AT ALL TIMES, food, driving around in the car as the copilot. DISLIKES: Being alone, finding himself in strange places, rain & cold. PERSONALITY TRAITS: Gomez is the ultimate Velcro baby. He loves to be carried around and to snuggle super close in bed. His foster mom even puts him in a Moby to do chores. Gomez gives the sweetest little kisses and he's so soft to pet. He'll gladly roll over for belly rubs or snuggle into your neck once he knows you! POTTY TRAINING STATUS: Potty trained. CRATE TRAINING STATUS: Crate trained, although he will fuss if he's in there while you're sitting nearby. EXTRAS/MISC.:  Gomez is prone to a bit of panic when he's in a new house, and for that reason we will require his new home to be secure. This means solid fences, no escape routes, and crating when he's alone. He quickly gets over this as he attaches to his new family, but we just need to make sure he's safe until he gets there. We'd also like his new home to be within the main Eugene/Springfield metro area so that his foster can get there quickly if anything happens. To further inquire about GOMEZ, submit an application. https://wigglytails.org/adoption-application/ Tell us about yourself, family, other pets, and how GOMEZ will mesh with your lifestyle. Story
Oscar 1 year, neutered male, 10 lb Chihuahua mix   Between those big ears is a cautious mind. Little Oscar is nervous at new situations and experiences but he isn’t timid he is just cautious. Once he trusts, he loves people and snuggling all day.   LIKES: Oscar loves playing with stuffed animals and playing with other small dogs, and snuggling on the couch   DISLIKES: Oscar can be intimidated by big dogs. He is also nervous about getting picked up but loves to be held.   CRATE TRAINING: He settled really well in a pet play pen   POTTY TRAINED: Oscar is doing great in his foster home   OTHER/MISC: Oscar is fostered with other dogs and cats, and he remains nervous around one of the large breed dogs. He likes cats and small dogs. He doesn't seem to enjoy walking on leash, but he is getting some training with his foster and may in time have more appreciation for exploring the wider world. He is a really sweet snuggly guy, but timid at new experiences Because of this, Oscar would do best in a home with a fenced yard and another small dog to play with and help show him the ropes.   To further inquire about OSCAR, submit an application. https://www.wigglytails.org/adoption-application   Tell us about yourself, family, other pets, and how OSCAR will mesh with your lifestyle. Story
Meet Penny! Penny is a young Chihuahua mix with a tender heart and a quiet curiosity about the world. She didn’t have much early socialization, so she’s still learning that humans can be kind, predictable, and safe. While she’s not quite comfortable with hands-on handling yet, Penny makes progress every single day—and it’s wonderful to watch her confidence slowly bloom. Penny is looking for a patient, understanding family who will let her move at her own pace and celebrate the small victories. She’ll benefit from working with a trainer who can help her learn the basics of life in a human world and continue building her trust and confidence through positive reinforcement. She would love having another gentle, social dog in the home to show her the ropes and help her feel secure. With proper introductions, Penny could likely learn to live peacefully with cats as well. A home with respectful teenagers would be fine, as long as everyone is committed to her training and socialization journey. Penny may not be the kind of dog who runs up for cuddles right away—but for the right family, earning her trust will be incredibly rewarding. If you have patience, compassion, and room in your heart for a shy pup learning to shine, Penny just might be your perfect match. Be sure to keep your eyes peeled on Instagram (@nwdogproject) for updates! If you would like to be considered as Penny's forever home, be sure to submit an adoption application on our website! Adoption fee includes; spay/neuter, microchip, microchip registration, dewormer, fecal testing, flea/tick prevention and age-appropriate vaccines. Penny would do great in a home with...Cats : Dogs : Yep!  Kiddos : 13+   ##2630720##
