Story
Cooper, appx 3.5 years old, is seeking his new forever home! This handsome boy comes with his crate, bedding, collar, and favorite toys. Cooper is sweet and loyal to his people but wary of strangers and territorial with other dogs - particularly when they are near what he considers to be his territory. Due to resource guarding and other quirks, he isn't a good fit for our home as he tends to pick fights with our other (bigger) dogs, risking injury to himself. He occasionally growls when his people get too close to his belongings, crate, or food. He does well around older kids who understand how to respect dogs, as long as proper introductions are in place. Despite these challenges, he knows basic obedience and would thrive with an experienced owner who can provide a single-dog environment. He'll make a wonderful companion for someone who has the time to work with him. He loves to snuggle, and in general he's a very happy and playful pup who wants nothing more than to find his person.

Story
Meet Mama Gaga! Gaga arrived with her 3 babies and has been busy in mama mode. She hilariously resembles a meerkat or lemur. Gaga is a fun loving girl who is very affectionate and gaining confidence daily. She appears to have some "street dog" type behaviors and we suspect things like being indoors, walking on a harness and leash, being in a crate and being confined are new for her. She has shown to be incredibly adaptable and is catching on to things qucikly. She will need a patient owner who can continue to show her what the good life is all about, which would ideally include some basic obedience training. Gaga is an active girl with equal parts sit in your lap and snuggle. She has shown to be cautious around men but warms up quickly with a couple treats. We do not know how she is with children but suspect she would do fine with older kiddos 10 and up. Gaga does well with other dogs her size but it's unknown how she is around cats. We can cat test her for serious applicants. Be sure to keep your eyes peeled on Instagram (@nwdogproject) for updates! If you would like to be considered as Gaga's forever home, be sure to submit an adoption application on our website! Adoption fee includes - spay/neuter, microchip & chip registration, UTD vaccines, de-worming, flea treatment, heartworm testing.  ##2081921##

Story
This is Rudy, my mother's senior Chihuahua. He's a good dog who's had a bad owner. He lived with my mom for 15 years, for the first 10 he rarely left her room. He came with her to independent living, where he had slightly more freedom, then to memory care as her dementia progressed. He has VERY bad separation anxiety. The final straw at my mom's facility was that he would nip her carers; away from her, the nipping is gone. His health is good for his age: cataracts and epilepsy (common in Chihuahuas). The epilepsy is controlled with meds; he also takes meds for the anxiety. He's had regular dental care, his hearing is fine, and he's got lots of energy. He needs a home with an older homebody, ideally a single person. A yard would be nice. He'll probably be ok with a small-to-medium, calm dog; more than two people or boisterous pets and the anxiety increases. He needs to sleep with you; until the last few weeks he'd never slept alone and alone he whines and barks during the night.

Story
Hi, I'm Lily! I'm about 14 years old and weigh 14 lbs. I have a medical release discussing my teeth and a recent amputation done at Greenhill.Do you like...Dogs? I have lived with another small dog before and we were pals. Please bring any dogs in the home to come meet me!Cats? I have a history of successfully living with cats. A slow and supervised introduction is always recommended.Kids? I am looking for a home with older kiddos that can respect my space and boundaries as I adjust to life on 3 legs. (10+)Anything else you'd like us to know, Lily? I am a sweet girl who would love to go on daily strolls and then snuggle up on the couch for movie night! I am the sweetest, most affectionate lady once I warm up, and will be a loyal friend for life!I came into the shelter as a surrender and the above information is all recommendations based on my previous history and the behavior seen at the shelter. Expect to learn more about me after adoption. It is unknown how this animal will do in their new home as all animals can be different with each person. It is important to take this into consideration when thinking about adopting and making sure you are prepared to work with any potential medical or behavior issues that occur after adoption. My adoption fee includes my spay/neuter, current vaccinations, permanent microchip identification, certificate for a free veterinary exam, post-adoption support and more!Thank you for taking the time to learn a little about me! If you think we would be a good match come on down and ask to meet me! I'm looking for my forever home and it could be with you!ADOPTION INFORMATION: If you live in the city of Eugene or in Lane County you will be purchasing a dog license in addition to the adoption fee.
