Story
IDGSR Welcomes KEVIN into the safety of the rescue!! THIS DOG IS FOSTERED IN TENNESSEE & AVAILABLE FOR TRANSPORT ************** Well howdy, folks! Name’s Kevin, and I reckon I might just be the smallest German Shepherd this side of Nashville, Tennessee… trapped in a Chihuahua/Terrier body. Don’t let my size fool ya—what I lack in height, I make up for in heart, grit, and a whole lotta personality. Quick Facts: Age - 6-months old Kids - will do fine with kids Dogs - great with other dogs Cats - probably no cats 1. At 6 months old, I’m still a young buck, full of curiosity and charm. 2. I’ve got a funny little bob-tail that wiggles faster than a tumbleweed in a windstorm, and a coat that looks straight outta the German Shepherd handbook. I’m startin’ to think I might be an undercover deputy from the Shepherd ranks—just disguised in a compact package! 3. I get along mighty fine with other dogs, and I’d fit right in whether you’re livin’ in a ranch, apartment, condo, or townhome—I’m not picky about my corral. 4. I’m still workin’ on house and crate trainin’, but I’m a quick learner if you’ve got some patience and a few treats up your sleeve. 5. I’ll need a good ol’ dose of obedience trainin’, but partner, once I learn the ropes, I’ll be your most loyal sidekick on every adventure. 6. So what do you say, cowboy (or cowgirl)? Saddle up and adopt me —the tiny sheriff with the Shepherd soul! **SERIOUS APPLICANTS ONLY! If you are not 100% ready to adopt, please wait** ************** ***IMPORTANT ADOPTION INFORMATION*** -ALL dogs are fostered in TENNESSEE unless otherwise noted -We do transport dogs to the east coast; a transport fee will apply -All dogs are up-to-date on vaccinations, heart-worm testing, monthly preventatives, & are spayed or neutered -Puppies under 6-months of age will require a SPAY/NEUTER CONTRACT, a portion of the adoption fee will be refunded upon documentation of the spay/neuter -An application must be submitted before scheduling an appointment to meet a dog -Dogs are introduced to prospective adopters BY APPOINTMENT ONLY -Due to the high volume of emails we receive, first priority will be given to those with submitted applications -All rescue work is done by dedicated volunteers, please be respectful of their time -Not able to adopt? Story
Meet Gus! Gus hitched a ride to safety with our AL pups after his former owners could no longer keep him. Now just around 1 year old, under 20 lbs and full of charm, this little guy is settling into his temporary Binghamton foster home — and he’s already winning hearts.  We’re told Gus is good with everyone, and so far he’s proving to be a sweet, easygoing companion. He’s housebroken, brushing up on his basics, and taking everything in stride as he waits for his next chapter to begin. Gus is looking for either a long-term foster or a forever home. Sharing his post truly helps us reach the people who can give him that second chance. All of our animals are examined by a veterinarian, given age-appropriate vaccinations, de-wormed, microchipped, spayed or neutered, heart-worm tested, and treated if necessary.  Vet references and a home/family visit are required, and an adoption fee applies.  Transport options are available within our area of operation, including Pennsylvania, the tri-state area, and New England.  Please note we do not adopt animals into Canada.  Visit www.pmarinc.org for more information, and to fill out an application. All of our animals are examined by a veterinarian, given age-appropriate vaccinations, dewormed, microchipped, spayed or neutered, heartworm tested and treated if necessary. Story
Mucho Grande — Small Dog, Huge Heart!  When Mucho Grande first arrived at Manhattan ACC, his tiny body trembled with fear. Labeled “New Hope Only” for growling and snapping, this little 15-pound pup was simply terrified — a world that hadn’t shown him kindness left him unsure who to trust.  But thanks to love, patience, and a caring foster home in Binghamton, Mucho’s story is turning into one of hope. Bit by bit, he’s letting his walls down — trading fear for tail wags, and learning that gentle hands mean comfort, not harm.  Now just over 2 years old, Mucho Grande is blossoming into a sweet, loyal companion who just needs the right person to help him keep believing in the good. Once he knows you’re a friend, his heart opens wide — full of affection, devotion, and the cutest little snuggles you could imagine.  Mucho’s Perfect Home:  Best with dogs his own size (big pups can be a little scary)  Cat-friendly!  Best with older kids (15+)  Needs a patient, gentle person who understands that trust takes time Mucho may be small, but his heart is mighty — and he’s ready to find his forever person who will love him just as he is.
