Story
At an estimated 5 years old, Baked Bean may be small in size, but this little Chihuahua mix has already been through more than her fair share.Baked Bean arrived at our shelter as a stray, and it didn’t take long for us to realize something wasn’t right. We immediately noticed a large lump underneath her abdomen. After being examined by our veterinarian, it was determined that Baked Bean had a hernia that required surgical repair. We believe her injury may have been the result of some type of trauma she experienced before finding her way to us.Unfortunately, we’ll never know exactly what Baked Bean went through before arriving at ARC. We don’t know who she belonged to, what her life looked like, or whether the people she once trusted treated her with the kindness she deserved. What we do know is that Baked Bean doesn’t hand out her trust to just anyone, and we can’t blame her for that. She can be hesitant and selective when meeting new people. She’s the kind of girl who needs a little patience, understanding, and the freedom to decide when she’s ready to let someone in.But here’s the beautiful thing about Baked Bean…Once you’re in her circle, you’re in it for life. Behind that cautious little exterior is a dog who loves her people endlessly. She just needs someone willing to look beyond those initial reservations and give her the opportunity to feel safe, loved, and understood.Baked Bean would do best as the only dog in her forever home, although she may be able to coexist with another smaller dog with proper introductions. We’re not looking for someone who expects Baked Bean to love them the moment they meet. We’re looking for someone who understands that sometimes the most meaningful relationships are the ones that take a little time to build.Baked Bean has already survived whatever life threw her way. Now, she deserves a life where she never has to question whether she’s safe or loved again. Could you be the person who finally gives this little Bean her happily ever after?

Story
🐾 Meet the Mini Dumbo Sisters! 🐾 Three sisters. Three tiny bodies. Three HUGE personalities — and ears big enough that we’re worried they might fly away! 😂 Meet Pebbles, Dora, and Trixie, three adorable little girls who are approximately 9–10 weeks old and currently weigh right at 3 lbs each. We don’t expect them to get much bigger than 12 lbs once full grown. A Good Samaritan found these three roaming their property in South Texas, with no mom or dad anywhere in sight. We believe they are Chihuahua/Rat Terrier mixes, and whatever their exact mix may be, one thing is certain: they are absolutely precious. These girls are incredibly sweet and will literally crawl toward you when they get excited. Start baby-talking them and their tiny butts start wiggling with happiness! They’re still figuring out this whole “toys” thing, but they’re learning quickly and starting to discover how much fun they can be. 🩷 Pebbles — Tan & White Pebbles is the shy sister of the bunch. She needs someone willing to give her a little extra patience, love, and encouragement while she builds her confidence. Her favorite place in the world is your lap — it’s where she feels safest. Pebbles would do best in a quieter household, ideally with a confident, friendly dog who can help show her that the world isn’t so scary. Once she feels comfortable, we think this little girl is going to blossom into an incredibly loving companion. 🖤 Dora — Black & White Dora is one of the more social and playful sisters. She loves attention, enjoys being around her people, and is happy to hand out tiny puppy kisses. She’s sweet, silly, and ready to find a family who will let her continue learning and growing into the fun little dog she’s meant to be. 🤍 Trixie — White & Black Trixie is also social, playful, and full of puppy charm. Like Dora, she loves people and is always happy to offer up some puppy kisses. She may be tiny, but she has plenty of personality packed into that little body! 🏡 What kind of homes are they looking for? Dora and Trixie would do wonderfully with gentle children of all ages and in moderately active households. Pebbles would prefer a quieter home where she can take things at her own pace. A confident, friendly dog in the home could be a wonderful role model for her. A few things their future families should know: 🚽 House-trained? We hate to break it to you, but… absolutely not! 😂 They’re only 9–10 weeks old and tiny, so potty training will be a work in progress for their new families. 🏠 Crate fans? Not exactly. These girls would much rather be snuggled up with their humans. 🐕 Big dog barks? They can be nervous when a big dog starts barking, but with patience and positive experiences, we expect them to gain confidence. 🐱 Cats? The cats they've encountered are all bigger than they are, so they haven't had any issues with kitties. 👧 Kids? Dora and Trixie should do well with gentle children of all ages. As with any puppy, supervision and teaching children how to interact respectfully with them will be important. These three may be small but mighty, but don’t let those tiny bodies fool you. They are sweet, playful, friendly, fun little girls who love attention, give kisses, and are ready to become someone's very best friend. Pebbles, Dora, and Trixie are looking for the very best homes where they can grow, learn, and be spoiled like the tiny princesses they are. 👑🐾 And seriously… those ears. We warned you about the flying. 🥹✈️ PLEASE READ ALL INFORMATION BELOW IF INTERESTED IN ADOPTING: The next step to adopt is to fill out an application on our website at: www.pawsitive-Impact-animal-rescue.org These puppies are current on age-appropriate vaccinations, current on flea/tick and heart worm prevention, microchipped, current on de-wormer, and will receive a clean bill of health from a licensed veterinarian prior to transport.
