Meet Juniper, a little bundle of energy who’s perfect for someone with an active lifestyle or children who love to run and play. This playful Chihuahua mix is just 1 year old and weighs a little over 10 lbs. Despite his small size, he’s packed with personality and a zest for life. He adores squeaky toys – toys of almost any sort, really – and is always ready for a game of fetch. Once he’s run off some of that energy, he’s ready to climb in your lap for a snuggle and a nap. If you’re looking for a fun-loving and funny companion to keep up with your adventures, Juniper’s your guy!  Email Save the Strays for our application. Story
📍 Location: Lexington, SC 🐾 Name: Chewy 🎂 Age: ~12 years (give or take a year) - the average lifespan of a Border Terrier is around 16 years, and it is not uncommon for them to live to 18–20 years. Chewy does not appear to be slowing down or declining in any way. 🐶 Breed: Border Terrier mix (best guess) ⚖️ Size: 11 lbs ✂️ Grooming: No formal grooming required 🚹 Sex: Male 💉 Vetting: Neutered, up to date on rabies, DHLPP, and bordetella; heartworm negative and current on heartworm & flea prevention; dewormed and microchipped 👶🐱🐕 Good with: Infants, children, cats, small dogs, and large dogs — he’s done well with everyone he’s met. ⚠️ Aggression / Medical: No known aggression. No urgent medical concerns. Chewy does have some gum recession on his front teeth and will need a dental at some point down the road. This is not emergent, not causing discomfort, and there are no issues affecting the back teeth. He eats dry food without any problems. 💔 Reason for surrender: Chewy was surrendered because his owner is currently on hospice care. 🏠 House / crate training: Does mark at first but settles once routine is established as long as there are no other males in the home also marking (then it's a competition). He does wonderfully in a crate and does not have accidents in there. 💛 Personality (the part that matters most): Chewy is an incredibly sweet, gentle soul. He loves to cuddle, enjoys being held, and settles beautifully with people. Despite his age, he gives very little indication of being a senior beyond some greying and missing teeth — his demeanor, engagement, and joy for life are all very much present. He plays nicely with other dogs, did well in a home with an infant, and handles routine care like nail trims exceptionally well. He can be a bit of a talker at times, but is rarely a barker. 📩 Interested? Please message me and include Chewy’s name (I’m helping multiple dogs at the moment). Adoption application and contract required to ensure a good home. Senior dogs are often overlooked, but they love deeply, adapt quickly, and make the most loyal companions. Chewy is ready for someone to choose him. 💛🐾

Story
Hi, I’m Moose!I’m a very good boy with a huge heart. Even though I’m dealing with two broken legs right now, I still do my very best to stay close to my foster mom. If I had my way, I’d be in her lap all day long. I’m an excellent TV buddy and love taking naps together in the recliner.Right now, I’m taking things slow while I wait for surgery. I have a cast on my back leg and an injured front leg, and I take my pain medication twice a day like a champ. Even with all that, I stay gentle and sweet. I love watching my foster siblings run and play, and I can’t wait for the day when I can join them in the yard again.I don’t bark much at all, I’m house trained with a little help getting outside, and I’m crate trained too. I really enjoy my chew toys, tasty treats, hugs, kisses, and of course—dinner time. Being near my person makes me feel safe, so I don’t love being alone for long. I’d be happiest with someone who works from home or is retired and can keep me company while I heal.My foster mom says I’m a super good boy, and I try really hard to live up to that every day. If you’re looking for a loyal, loving companion who will stick by your side through thick and thin, I just might be your Moose. My adoption fee includes up-to-date vaccinations, dewormer, and heartworm/flea prevention. Plus, a microchip that is already registered to you! What more could you ask for?If you`d like to meet me, please fill out an application on our website, PawmettoLifeline.org.Adoptions are by appointment Tuesday through Thursday. On Fridays and Saturdays, you’re welcome to walk in anytime between 10:00am and 5:00pm. Please note that we’re closed for adoptions on Sundays and Mondays

Story
Hi! My name is Chico, and I’m a high-energy, happy guy who loves life and everyone in it. If you’re looking for a fun, playful dog with a big personality, I might be your match!I’m very friendly and get excited meeting new people—men, women, babies, and teenagers alike. I love attention and enjoy being part of the action. Other dogs are my favorite, especially my American Bully and Dachshund friends. I love to run fast, play tug-of-war, and wrestle around in the yard. Playtime is my jam!I’m still a work in progress when it comes to training. I’m not fully house-trained yet, and I get pretty excited around food and treats—I might grab them a little roughly and sometimes try to sneak other dogs’ food. Because of that, I’d do best with someone who’s willing to continue my training and help me learn good manners around meals and toys. I can be a bit possessive over toys, so guidance and structure will really help me shine.I don’t have separation anxiety, but I do like to bark—especially in my crate—even though I actually enjoy being in there once I settle. I haven’t tried leash walking yet, so that will be a new adventure for us to learn together!Overall, I’m a goofy, energetic, playful boy who needs attention, patience, and training to help me become the best version of myself. In return, I’ll give you endless fun, loyalty, and a whole lot of love. If you’re ready for an active dog who wants to learn and play, I can’t wait to meet you!My adoption fee includes up-to-date vaccinations, dewormer, and heartworm/flea prevention. Story
Hi there, I’m Jolly, and I’m a Priority Pet because I need to eat a specialty food!I’m a sweet, happy puppy who loves to play, run around, and enjoy life. I have a joyful heart and an easygoing personality—I can be playful and silly one moment, then curl up for a nice nap the next. I love being around people and would fit right in with a family that enjoys spending time together.I get along well with other dogs, I’m good with cats, and I absolutely love kids of all ages. I’m still learning my house manners and crate training, but I’m trying hard and getting better every day. Loud noises like thunderstorms and fireworks can make me a little nervous, so I’d love a family who can help me feel safe and comforted when that happens.I’m full of love and ready to share it with my forever family. If you’re looking for a sweet, gentle puppy to grow up with your family and fill your home with happiness, I might be the perfect match for you.One important thing to know about me: I’m on a C/D urinary diet, which helps keep my bladder healthy and feeling my best.
