Story
Time on the streets took a heavy toll on Holler and his buddy Hoot. Neither were in the best shape when they arrived at GIHS. And though Hoot has begun to heal physically, it's his heart that needs the most doctoring now. He's a timid guy, prone to hiding behind people he's uncertain about as he shivers and hunches. But we can see it in his eyes, Holler wants to want affection. He's not reactive in the form of snarling or snapping, he's simply afraid and needs slow, consistent reassurance. Holler would do best with a family willing to offer him patience and the space to learn to love again, who won't take it personally that Holler has a history he's still working to put behind him. If you think that could be you, we encourage you to come and meet him for yourself!

Story
Say hello to Hoot, but not too loud, it may scare him. Hoot wasn't in the best health when he arrived here with his street companion, Holler. While his body has been healing nicely, Hoot still struggles with some emotional scars. He's a nervous guy who isn't too sure about people, but from what we've seen, it's clear that Hoot WANTS to learn to love again. He tries his very best, taking cautious sniffs of those who come near, and accepting being held so long as there's a blanket between his skin and yours. Healing takes time, of course. What Hoot could really use is a family who is willing to give that to him, along with patience and understanding that he has quite a bit of distrust to unlearn. With the right people, we have no doubt that Hoot will get there. Could you be the one to help him do it?

Story
🍀 Meet Clover 🍀 At just ~2 months old, Clover has already been through more than most pups her age. She was found alone in a Lowe’s parking lot in Tyler, TX during 20° weather 😢—but thanks to kind rescuers, she made it safely back to us. Clover looks like a Black Lab mixed with a Chihuahua (hey, we’ve seen weirder combos 👀) and she’s as tough as she is cute. She recently finished her final round of treatment for a serious hookworm infestation. It hasn’t been an easy or comfortable journey for her, but her resilience is already shining through. 💪🐾 Now this little fighter is ready for the next chapter: a forever home filled with warmth, love, and soft blankets.
