Story
Meet Bambi: A Tiny Fighter with a Huge Heart 🦌 In January 2026, while Houston was gripped by a deep freeze, a tiny soul was found shivering in an outdoor cabinet. Bambi, a Chihuahua/Min Pin mix, was emaciated and alone, but she refused to give up. Today, she’s a healthy, happy girl ready for her forever home! True to her name, Bambi looks just like a baby deer with her fawn coloring and ears that are—quite frankly—magnificent. Plus, she has an adorable overbite that lets her "front teefies" peek out whenever she’s lounging on her back. The Details: The Vibe: A total Velcro dog. She wants to be by your side and burrowed deep under the blankets. Social Life: She’s been great with cats and other dogs! The Journey: Because she spent time starving on the streets, she does have some resource guarding issues. She needs a patient human who understands that she’s still learning that there will always be enough food to go around. If you have a warm lap and a little patience, Bambi is ready to shower you with affection. Story
We are looking for a safe and loving new home for Bambi, we got her when she was 6 weeks old, we bought her from a family from Facebook and she will be 5 years old in April of this year. She has become a little old lady that likes to lay around with my girls but also loves her walks in the park and chasing the squirrels. She has the energy needed to play outside but knows when to dial it back for relaxation time. Bambi is spoiled by one of my daughters in particular and always has been.

Story
Hi, my name is Eve! My sister, Holly and I are looking for our new forever homes. I'm still young, estimated DOB 7/22/2025 and a Chihuahua mix. I'm learning so much at my foster home with other dogs and I love everyone. I can be shy and would prefer a home without children. I love to be held and petted, give kisses, and play until I drop.  I'm just a puppy and can get into a lot of trouble so you'll need to be willing to give me lots of gentle guidance, so I can learn all those big dog things, like how to behave in a house, what a crate is for, how to walk on a leash without pulling, and all those verbal commands every dog should know. I may even treat people like I treat my sibling with rough play or decide that a new pair of shoes or a table leg would make a great chew toy, so a lot of appropriate toys should be in my future. The good news is that with the right training and LOTS of love, I'll be the best addition to your family ever and your best bud. If you are interested in me, please send an email to SCP! Applications can be found on our website at secondchancepets.org under the "Forms" tab. Please complete and return to SCP for review! All dogs typically show on Saturdays from 11 AM to 2 PM at the Petco in Clear Lake at 2410 Bay Area Blvd near Space Center.   Since all our dogs are in foster homes, an individual dog may not be at our weekly Adoption Event due to conflict with a foster's schedule. If you are interested in meeting a particular dog, please send an email to scpdogworld@gmail.com so that the Dog Coordinator can let you know if the dog will be at the Saturday Adoption Event at Petco. If you just want to meet some great dogs looking for their forever home, please come visit with us on Saturday! The adopter for this dog must reside in the immediate Houston/Galveston area and be at least 25 years old. A home visit may be required prior to this dog going to any home. The adoption fee for a dog is $210 (or $270 for puppies). All dogs are microchipped, on heartworm protection, spayed/neutered, vaccinated, de-wormed and treated for fleas.January 21, 2026, 2:44 pm

Story
Hello world.... Ms. Peach here! I am a tiny, 7.5 lb, precious little girl. I was impounded and then rescued by SCP. I am very, very grateful. I am an interesting little gal. I live fine with other dogs and cats for the most part, until it comes to my ball. I am very protective of my ball. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE my ball. I carry it around everywhere and I can play fetch for hours! Take my ball away and I will focus on you:) I am a sweet girl and very quiet (until a repair guy comes over!) I am crate trained and pretty well house-broken, if taken out regularly. I love to be snuggled and held. I travel very well, and I am fine with strangers:) I am a great dog! I just tend to be protective of my ball and sometimes my bed. Just something to be aware of:) If you are interested in me, please send an email to us! Applications can be found on our website at secondchancepets.org under the "Forms" tab. Please complete and return to us for review!
