Hi, I’m Rosalee, a vibrant Chi mix with a unique coat of red, black, white, and even some cool-looking blonde patches. I’m a spry little lady at just 1 year old and a light 17lbs. I’m spayed, up to date on all my vaccinations, and heartworm negative. I’m a social butterfly who gets along wonderfully with other dogs and children. I have spina bifida, which means I can’t be potty trained, but that doesn’t stop me from running and jumping joyfully. I’ve also had surgery for a luxating patella and have recovered beautifully, completing all my physical therapy like a champ. I’m looking for a family that will embrace my energetic spirit and my special needs with open arms. If you’re looking for a companion who’s full of life and love, I might just be the perfect addition to your home. Let’s make every day together a beautiful adventure! I am being fostered in Hampton, VA but can be transported to nearby areas for a well-fitting and supportive home. You must be 21 or older to apply. Meet Griff — a gentle, lap-loving little shadow who just wants someone to call his own. When Griff’s elderly owner passed away unexpectedly, his whole world shifted overnight. One moment he was loved and adored; the next, he was facing uncertainty with no one familiar to turn to. Thanks to a compassionate Good Samaritan, Griff never saw the inside of a shelter. Instead, he was brought into a foster home where he’s been slowly unwinding, taking deep breaths, and learning that he’s still safe. Griff is 6 years old, neutered, microchipped, fully vetted, and heartworm negative. He even recently met a cat and didn’t react at all—such a good little gentleman.  At heart, Griff is a loyal shadow dog. He adores routines, finds comfort in his crate, and loves nothing more than curling up in your lap or settling beside you where he can feel your warmth. He’s sensitive, steady, and thrives in a calm, predictable environment where he can truly relax. Griff is hoping for a quiet, peaceful home—one without children and ideally with another gentle, small dog who won’t overwhelm him. His Chihuahua quirks only add to his charm, and once he trusts you, he loves you with his whole heart.  This sweet boy is ready to bond deeply, settle in fully, and finally feel safe again. This special little one year old chihuahua is called Magic Maude.  And especially sensitive little girl, that somehow got just a little too round and is on a dedicated exercise in nutrition program to drop some weight.  Currently, she is eighteen pounds and we field that she would be best to be in the ten to twelve pound range as a goal.  She originally was in a chaotic home that animal control had to step in and take away 112 chihuahuas that we're living in the home.  An unfathomable amount of dogs that were not altered, but yet healthy.  When mod came to our rescue and was put in a foster home. She lay there in her crate for days very depressed and emotionally unresponsive.  She barely moved from the one spot she lay in.   Eventually, after almost two weeks, she perked up with the company of few other chihuahuas coming to join her in her large crate.  Soon she was going on walks with the foster. Mom and seemed to enjoy the freedom of being outside, taking in all the new sights and sounds of the neighborhood.  We know she had never been leash walked due to the overcrowding at her original home.  This girl is spayed and healthy and ready to start all over again. She wants love and we promised her a great family who will love her and take her for walks and treat her like the Magic Maude that she is.  She is currently in Nashville, Tennessee, and can be transported to the northeast region as well. He’s affectionate, silly, and full of personality, but never in a way that overwhelms.  Tank dreams of a quiet home where he can be the center of cozy evenings and soft routines. Bear is an 18-month-old Chihuahua/scruffy terrier mix weighing just 9 pounds, but don’t let his size fool you — this little guy has a huge personality and an endless supply of joy. Recently, Bear became a proud dog dad to six beautiful puppies born around October 10th. He came from a home that was overwhelmed with dogs and puppies, where the family simply didn’t have the resources to spay or neuter the adults. Despite the chaos of his early life, Bear has emerged happy, resilient, and full of love. One thing is very clear — Bear thrives when he has canine companionship. Having grown up surrounded by other dogs, he truly needs at least one young, active dog in his forever home to feel secure and content. He also benefits from humans who enjoy long, brisk walks, playtime, and interactive fun. Squeaky toys and rope toys are his absolute favorites. Bear is still learning the basics of pet life, but he’s making wonderful progress. He sleeps through the night in his crate and chooses it as his safe space during the day. He’s new to leash walking but is catching on quickly with daily practice, and his house-training is coming along nicely. Having just been neutered, Bear wears a belly band indoors while he learns not to mark — and he handles it like a champ. Bear is fantastic with other dogs and does well with cats, too. With his adorable wiry coat, bright eyes, and sharp mind, he’s eager to learn and will quickly pick up any manners or training his new family wants to teach. Despite a rough start, Bear’s happiness was never dimmed — in fact, it shines brighter each day in his calm, loving foster home.
