Story
Hi, I’m Rosalee, a vibrant Chi mix with a unique coat of red, black, white, and even some cool-looking blonde patches. I’m a spry little lady at just 1 year old and a light 17lbs. I’m spayed, up to date on all my vaccinations, and heartworm negative. I’m a social butterfly who gets along wonderfully with other dogs and children. I have spina bifida, which means I can’t be potty trained, but that doesn’t stop me from running and jumping joyfully. I’ve also had surgery for a luxating patella and have recovered beautifully, completing all my physical therapy like a champ. I’m looking for a family that will embrace my energetic spirit and my special needs with open arms. If you’re looking for a companion who’s full of life and love, I might just be the perfect addition to your home. Let’s make every day together a beautiful adventure! I am being fostered in Hampton, VA but can be transported to nearby areas for a well-fitting and supportive home. You must be 21 or older to apply. Fill out an application today if you think we might be a match!

Story
This special little one year old chihuahua is called Magic Maude.  And especially sensitive little girl, that somehow got just a little too round and is on a dedicated exercise in nutrition program to drop some weight.  Currently, she is eighteen pounds and we field that she would be best to be in the ten to twelve pound range as a goal.  She originally was in a chaotic home that animal control had to step in and take away 112 chihuahuas that we're living in the home.  An unfathomable amount of dogs that were not altered, but yet healthy.  When mod came to our rescue and was put in a foster home. She lay there in her crate for days very depressed and emotionally unresponsive.  She barely moved from the one spot she lay in.   Eventually, after almost two weeks, she perked up with the company of few other chihuahuas coming to join her in her large crate.  Soon she was going on walks with the foster. Mom and seemed to enjoy the freedom of being outside, taking in all the new sights and sounds of the neighborhood.  We know she had never been leash walked due to the overcrowding at her original home.  This girl is spayed and healthy and ready to start all over again. She wants love and we promised her a great family who will love her and take her for walks and treat her like the Magic Maude that she is.  She is currently in Nashville, Tennessee, and can be transported to the northeast region as well. Please write to Critter Cavalry Rescue  at ccrnewengland@gmail.com  if you want to adopt or know more.  PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.June 18, 2025, 12:39 pm

Story
My name is Annie. I am a sweet little Chihuahua-Jack Russell Terrier mix, weighing about 5-6 lbs. I will be 12 weeks old the week of July 14. This date is important because I'll be old enough to receive some of my second vaccinations and undergo my spay surgery. After that, I’ll be ready to find my forever home in a few weeks. I love my current foster home! I get along well with the other dogs here, and I like the cats too. Everyone is bigger than me, except for one little older lady who is half my size. She’s the only one who truly understands life in a world full of giants. However, the bigger dogs are nice to me, and I even have a couple of playmates. I've only been in my foster home for a few days, but it already feels like home. I watch what everyone does and follow their lead. My foster mom says this can be good or bad—I prefer to think it’s a good thing! There’s a doggie door here, and when I get a little bigger, I plan to figure that out. Right now, I go outside when the door is open (don’t worry, my foster mom is always watching me), or I use the white pads on the floor. I sleep through the night either in my bed or next to my foster mom. Even though I’m little, I can create a nice warm spot beside you. I’m just a precious little girl looking for a loving lady to care for me for the rest of my life. I would be an excellent companion for a young professional woman who works from home. We could hang out all day, and I could help you work. I promise to be quiet and not cause any trouble. If you’re still reading this, I hope you’re considering adding me to your family. Fingers crossed! To be considered for my forever mom and to request an application, please contact Vivienne at vivienneajames@gmail.com. An approved application and adoption fee are required. (Annie is currently in Tennessee and can be transported north upon adoption.)July 11, 2025, 5:41 pm

Story
Meet Tia Maria – A Delicate Soul Ready for Her Fairy Tale Ending Tia Maria is a stunning and delicate 9-pound fawn-colored Deerhead Chihuahua with a heart as big as her ears are adorable. Recently retired from motherhood after lovingly nursing her puppies for the last eight weeks, this gentle little lady is now ready for a home of her very own – one that will cherish her as she deserves. Rescued from an unthinkable hoarding and neglect situation, Tia Maria has shown incredible resilience and grace. Despite her painful beginnings, she has blossomed into the sweetest companion – housebroken, gentle, and full of love. Though she may be a bit reserved when first meeting new people, it doesn’t take long before she’s warming your lap and nuzzling her way into your heart. Tia Maria has an elegance and quiet strength that is truly remarkable. Her calm demeanor and nurturing spirit are a testament to her character. She’s overcome so much, and now she’s ready to trade in the hardships of her past for the soft blankets and loving arms of her forever home. We are seeking a family who will treat Tia Maria like the little princess she is – someone who understands her past, respects her gentle nature, and is ready to give her the happily-ever-after she’s earned. If you’re searching for a grounded, loving, and soulful Chihuahua to complete your family, Tia Maria may be the one. Contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com to apply. Story
Fergie – From Hardship to Hope Meet Fergie, a 3-month-old Chihuahua/Beagle mix with eyes full of hope and a heart bursting with love. Weighing just 4 pounds, this tiny girl has already faced more in her short life than many ever will—but she’s come through it with joy, resilience, and a spark that refuses to dim. Fergie was one of 11 puppies born into a home where love was present, but resources were painfully scarce. The family tried, but couldn’t provide what the dogs needed. Thankfully, we were able to step in—offering vet care, proper nutrition, and safe, loving foster homes. The mama dogs were all spayed, and each puppy finally had the chance to thrive. Today, Fergie is healthy, playful, and full of personality. She’s discovering toys (especially squeaky ones!), learning crate training, and showing her foster family just how much love one tiny dog can give. She’s got a bit of spunk, loves to lead her brothers around, and adores being part of the action. Every time she looks up at you with those soulful eyes, it’s a reminder of how far she’s come—and how much love she still has to give. Vet checked and healthy Growing stronger and more confident every day Ready to begin her forever story Fergie didn’t get the easiest start in life, but her future is filled with hope. If you’re ready to open your heart and home to a truly special little soul, Fergie is ready to meet you.  If you our interested in adopting miss fergie. Please contact critter, cavalry rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com    PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comJuly 8, 2025, 7:45 pm
