Story
Gracie is super sweet and just wants to be with you all the time. She has been good with the small dogs and fine with cats in her foster home, but she can be a little territorial with her bed and personal space. She's just growled some, but once you tell her no, she stops. She does need some manners during meal times. She will try to steal food, but isn't mean about it. She has not been around kids that we are aware of but would say she's probably fine with older ones. She goes outside to use the bathroom, but has had a few accidents, so will need some work with that. If you don't have a fenced in yard she needs to go out on a leash. She also piddles when she's excited or you go to pick her up. She has had no issues being picked up, does well in the car, but she's nervous. She would probably do best with another small dog or someone that's home most of the time. She gets anxious and upset when she's alone. She also is a good sleeper and prefers sleeping in your bed. She can go up and down stairs, but does have some past back pain. Gracie was just spayed and had some small tumors removed. She also came to us with a UTI which she's been treated for and a major case of fleas which caused a lot of hair loss, but those nasty buggers are all off too and her skin is healing and she's starting to re grow her hair and she will be a beautiful gal again in no time.

Story
Oh, Jackson!  What big ears you have!  Add that to how sweet he is, and you have a wonderful little 4-year-old Chihuahua mix who is friendly with dogs as well as his foster’s cat. Like many Chihuahuas, Jackson can be very shy at first, but it won’t take long before he decides to sleep in your bed under the covers, pressed right against you.  Just think how cozy it will be when he uses his tan and white coat to keep you warm.  We don’t recommend that he live with small children because they can underestimate their own strength with such a small dog.  With his big eyes open wide, you can see right into who Jackson is, a small creature filled with love and yearning, to go home with you, that is.  (posted 2/11/23, TN) **It is rare that we know with certainty the ages or mixes that make up our dogs, but we do our best to be as accurate as possible based upon our experience. ** Adoption: $375 which covers quarantine, shots, worming, medical records, spaying/neutering, microchip and an Alabama State Health Certificate.   Transport, if needed  $160   We consider the transport to be of great importance and, as such, take particular care of the dogs during the trip . We make every effort to arrive with healthy and minimally stressed dogs.    June 3, 2023, 6:26 pm

Story
Miley Girl is a real sweetheart who has been through enough in her life.  Although we’re not sure of the particulars, we do know that she ended up in the high kill shelter pregnant.  We figure she’s between 3 and 5 years old, so we’ll call her 4.  A Chiweenie (Chihuahua/Dachshund mix plus who knows), her coat is redder than tan and it’s accented with a crisp white.  She looks heavy in her pictures, but that’s baby fat and, even at that, she weighs only 18 pounds. When her foster first saw Miley Girl, she thought Miley looked sad as she does in several of her pictures.  Although we agree that she looks a bit tired, that’s a baby tired.  Miley Girl is a sweet mama and she’s good with other dogs, kids, and her foster’s cat.  We think this girl is great and would do well in your home as the family’s dog.  (posted 5/10/23, TN) **It is rare that we know with certainty the ages or mixes that make up our dogs, but we do our best to be as accurate as possible based upon our experience. ** Adoption: $375 which covers quarantine, shots, worming, medical records, spaying/neutering, microchip and an Alabama State Health Certificate.   Transport, if needed  $160   We consider the transport to be of great importance and, as such, take particular care of the dogs during the trip . Courtesy Listing - Tyler is not an AHGRR dog - but his adoption fee will be donated to AHGRR to help homeless dogs find homes. 7 year old Tyler's owner needs to rehome him due to failing health. Tyler can be a little dominate with other dogs so he is best placed with those who will tolerate his shenanigans while he adjusts to his new home. Tyler is very loving, and a great little dog. He uses a dog door, and is a lot of fun. If interested in Tyler, please submit an application which you can find our our website (www.almostheaven-golden-retriever-rescue.org)

Welcome to the Paws for Seniors family Peepers, Peepers is a 9 pound Chihuahua who came to us with 3 other Chihuahuas when their owner could no longer provide and care for them. She is estimated to be 10 years old and is a very sweet little girl, who is in great shape and loves to run and play in the yard with other little doggies. It's amazing that she and her friends transitioned to their new environment, with foster mom and dad, so quickly. They are all so friendly, seeking out a lap, darting around the yard, running and playing , and having a great time. Peepers is crate trained, knows to do her business outside, and sleeps through the night. She is in good health, neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccines, and heartworm negative.  Although we know it is close to impossible to keep these little chi's together, each of them would love to go to a home with other little dogs.  If you can find it in your heart to adopt one or maybe a pair, Apply Today at https://is.gd/pawsforseniorsapp  Paws For Seniors Adoption Process Thank you for your interest in adopting a Paws For Seniors pet.
