Sadly, Dan and his family were left behind when their owners moved away. A kind family member brought them to the rescue, giving Dan a second chance at happiness. Because of his past, he may be shy at first, but with a little patience (and a few tasty treats!), he’ll soon reveal his loving and loyal nature. Dan thrives in a calm environment and would do best with a quiet family who can give him the time he needs to build trust. He absolutely adores other dogs and would love a confident canine companion to help show him the ropes and make him feel secure. Beneath his shaggy coat and expressive eyes is a loyal companion who bonds deeply with his people. He’s looking for a calm, adult-only home where he can be the center of someone’s world — your one and only pet. Recently, Sloth Bear was diagnosed with degenerative mitral valve disease, confirmed with a cardiac ultrasound (echocardiogram). While this condition will need ongoing monitoring, it doesn’t stop him from enjoying the little joys in life: cozy blankets, slow walks, and curling up next to his favorite human. If you’re searching for a gentle, devoted companion who will adore you endlessly, Sloth Bear may be the perfect match. He’s ready to meet the person who will love him just the way he is. Because they’ve had little exposure to people or the rhythms of indoor life, the Power Dogs are still learning what it means to feel safe.
