Story
Billie is a dainty 6-pound girl who also rocks the most adorable pirate look after losing one eye to a past injury. Don’t worry—this little buccaneer is thriving and completely unbothered. Billie is a sweet, quiet, low-energy girl who wants nothing more than to be right by your side (or, ideally, in your lap… or possibly inside your ribcage if she could manage it). She’s still getting used to new places and situations, so she appreciates a calm home and a patient human who can help her feel safe. She’s polite with other dogs but far prefers being your first mate. If you’re looking for a silky soft, loyal shadow who will follow you anywhere and steal your heart with one glance of her single sparkling eye, Billie may be your perfect match.

Story
Meet Fiona – 8 Pounds of Sass, Snuggles, and Pure Heart! Fiona may be tiny, but she has a larger-than-life personality that fills every room she enters. At around 4 years old and weighing just 8 pounds, this Chihuahua has already lived quite the life—but now she’s ready for her next (and best!) chapter: a forever home where she can be adored just as much as she deserves. Once a stray with a patchy coat and an empty belly, Fiona has transformed into a sassy little queen. Fiona is incredibly loving and bonds deeply with her people. She enjoys being close and will gladly cozy up or burrow under blankets with you at every opportunity. She does well with kids and other dogs. Fiona is obedient, devoted, and never met a food item she didn’t love. She adores her soft little toys and will ask to play fetch with them. Fiona has been diagnosed with heart failure, which is likely related to a heartworm infection, and is currently well managed with daily medication. She’s completed heartworm treatment, but needs to take it easy with walks and playtime for a while as her heart is monitored post-treatment. Most dogs do show improved heart function after heartworm treatment + recovery time - but only time will tell! In the meantime, Fiona remains happy, spirited, and full of love. She doesn’t let her diagnosis define her, and she certainly doesn’t want you to treat her any differently—unless you're offering belly rubs or soft blankets, in which case, she’s all in. Fiona's not just a dog—she's a little warrior in a tutu (figuratively, but also possibly literally if you have one), ready to dance her way into your life and heart.

Story
Tito may only weigh 5.5 pounds, but he carries himself like he owns the place. At around 7 years old, he’s a chihuahua with all the classic traits: bold, expressive, energetic, and absolutely certain he deserves attention. Found as a stray with rotted teeth and skin issues from parasites, Tito bounced back with impressive attitude. He’s had a full dental cleaning with 18 extractions and is feeling dramatically better. His skin and sleek brown and white coat are now healed, and his ears are nearly there, too. Otherwise, Tito is healthy and active! Tito is what we’ll lovingly call a "firestarter". At home, he always wants attention, but also on his terms. He loves other pets and tries to initiate play constantly… unless it’s nap time, in which case he expects peace and quiet. Adding to Tito's mystique, he comes off as mellow and reserved outside of the home, whether it be for a vet appointment or socialization. He’s a tiny dog with big character: energetic, social, enigmatic, opinionated and happiest in a home that appreciates the unique allure, and occasional chaos, of chihuahuas. Tito's ideal home has other playful pets and no little kids. If you’re a chi lover who appreciates a dog that knows what he wants, and understands the balance of boundaries and spoiling, Tito will fit right in. Tito doesn’t just want a home — he wants an audience. And honestly? He deserves one.

Story
Hi, Bailey! :) Bailey came to CRT from an animal control center after the raid of a small hoarding situation. She is about 10 years old and weighs in at around 20 pounds. She is very good with other dogs and school age children. Bailey is so gentle that she would most likely be very good with small children and cats too. She will let anybody pick her up. Bailey will follow her person around the house wherever she goes. She eats well and is housetrained. She loves to explore the yard. She also likes to go on short walks where she will take her time and smell all the good things a little dog likes to smell. Bailey would do well in any home. She is up to date on all her shots, is spayed, microchipped, fully vetted, and ready to be adopted! Bailey has a heart murmur that currently does not require medication. She will need to continue seeing a heart specialist as she may need to go on medication in the future. Bailey’s adoption donation is $250. If you are interested in the above dog, please do not email us and tell us that you are interested, but submit an adoption application. The link for the application is below. Story
Meet Sassy Pants (aka Sassy)! Sassy is a female chihuahua estimated to be about 2 years old and weighs around nine pounds. She was found as a stray and hopes her next home will be her fur-ever home! Sassy loves to play with toys and loves to play fetch! She loves to be chased, run zoomies, and get belly rubs and snuggles. She is a great snuggler! Ideally, her new family would be able to give Sassy lots of love and play time. Once she gets to know you, she remembers and loves you, but it is best to let her come to you and ask for attention than approach her. Sassy can be aggressive when meeting a new person and has occasionally snapped at someone but has not bitten anyone. She is working with a trainer to become less reactive. She does better meeting new people if they are sitting down. She hasn’t spent much time around kids or other dogs and hasn’t been cat tested other than at the vet, where she didn’t seem to react. She walks in between large flocks of geese with no reaction, she was caught licking a bunny on a walk but didn’t attempt to hurt it. Sassy likely needs to be an only dog as she is possessive with her toys and can be food aggressive. She is suitable for an apartment or single family dwelling and is not a flight risk. Sassy walks well on a leash. She is slowly becoming less reactive to people and other dogs on walks but will occasionally still bark or growl. Sassy is completely house broken and does not get into anything. She loves car rides. She has a security blanket and sleeps in it wherever the blanket is at the time. Sassy is spayed and vetted. She does well at the vet. Sassy’s adoption donation is $300. If you are interested in the above dog, please do not email us and tell us that you are interested, but submit an adoption application. The link for the application is below.
