Story
Hello, Joey! Joey (AKA Joe Dirt) is a male 2 year old (DOB 3/28/24) hairless Chinese Crested in need of his forever home! Joey entered rescue when his owner surrendered him. Joey weighs 11 pounds. This little dude is mostly hairless aside from his awesome mohawk on top of his head. Joey is a friendly little guy when not protecting his person. He very much bonds to his family and will guard them from all household visitors. He gets along well with other dogs, does fine with cats, and loves nothing more than to curl up in bed with you. Joey adores his snuggles! Joey will guard his person, so he will need someone who is firm and will remind him of his place. It is recommended that Joey go to an experienced owner and should not go to a home with young children due to his guarding tendencies. Joey loves chew toys- they get his full attention. Meal times are a favorite as well. He is leash trained. Joey has had a few issues with his penis being stuck out, but after multiple surgeries that seems to no longer be an issue. However, he’s had to re-learn his angles when urinating, and sometimes he aims wrong and misses due to that. It’s not his fault! Joey is pee pad trained. An adopter should read up on the needs of Joey’s breed. He needs clothes during the winter and will need sunblock when he’s outside in the summer. Joey is fully vetted and up to date on vaccinations. He is neutered and microchipped. He is also heartworm negative and takes monthly heartworm prevention. Joey’s adoption donation is $400. If you are interested in the above dog, please do not email us and tell us that you are interested, but submit an adoption application. The link for the application is below. To submit an application go here: http://www.chihuahua-rescue.com/adoption-application/ An application must be submitted and approved before a meet-n-greet can be scheduled. Your current dogs/cats must be spayed or neutered unless a veterinarian has determined that your current pet(s) should not be fixed due to medical reasons. They must also be up-to-date on shots and on HW preventative. Reference checks and a home visit are required so SE dogs can only be adopted in NC/SC, VA, TN, AL, MD and GA.

Story
*** AVAILABLE ON-SITE ONLY FRIDAYS AND SATURDAYS *** Hi, I’m Linus’s foster mom, and I’m here to tell you—this little guy is something special. From the moment I met him, Linus was instantly happy. His tail started wagging right away, and he was eager to make friends. He gets along well with his foster brothers—a Chihuahua and a Pit Bull. Linus isn’t over-the-top hyper, but when the mood strikes, a squeaky toy is very appealing. He’ll play a little, then settle back in. One of the things that amazes me most about him is how observant he is—and truly scared of nothing. Loud noises? Blender going full speed? Fast movements in the kitchen? He just sits there watching every move, totally unbothered, patiently waiting and hoping a snack might appear. He’s 100% a people dog. Having fur siblings is nice, but Linus really wants you. He’s a Velcro dog through and through—loves attention, loves being close, and definitely does not want to be left alone. When I come home after being gone just a couple of hours, he greets me like I’ve been away for days. And bedtime? Oh, he knows exactly where he belongs. My bed! He makes that very clear. While he can handle sleeping in a cozy fur baby bed on the floor next to the human bed… he does so very reluctantly. But he still sleeps great through the night, even in his own bed. Linus is fun, funny, incredibly smart, and super cute. We have enjoyed every single minute of having him in our home. He brings joy so naturally—it’s just who he is. Whoever snags Linus is going to be very blessed. Truly.

Story
*** AVAILABLE ON-SITE ONLY FRIDAYS AND SATURDAYS *** **Adoption fee waived for prior adopters, fosters and hosts** Say hello to this senior sweetheart, Grapevine! She is a friendly, calm girl who prefers a bit of independence. After settling in, her curiosity will have her following you and wanting to be sitting and cuddling with you on her own terms and in her own time. Grapevine has found that she actually likes to snuggle and cuddle up most of time, but she prefers it to be her choice. Although shy at first, this little gal is curious – paying attention and carefully watching you and checking out her new situation. Once she’s convinced that all is well and she feels as though she’s in control, Grapevine will be ready to be your best friend! Her foster reported seeing her change after 3 days, blossoming a little more each day. Grapevine must not have had the kindest lot in life prior to coming to Saving Grace, as she seems to be experiencing so many new things for the first time in her foster home. She's learning about potty training, and is doing well when taken out regularly. This gal enjoys going outside for short periods of time, but seems to know to use potty pads if she can’t wait. Grapevine will follow her furry friends outside, not wanting to be left out, unless the weather is wet and frigid. As she unwinds and get more comfortable in her foster home, she has been spotted playing with soft toys and furry friends her size. An equal opportunity friend, Grapevine does great with both dogs and cats! Grapevine's a smart lady who will come to you when she wants to be picked up or to soak in some couch snuggles, and she is learning to love being loved on in her own time. She is definitely curious about her human and will follow you around the house to see what you’re up to. Crate time is no problem, as Grapevine sleeps very well in her crate and will occasionally go in just to chill and have her own quiet time. Telling her its bedtime and encouraging her to go to her crate has been successful. Grapevine is a lovely and loving girl who would love to find her forever home that comes with extra patience, and possibly a lower energy sibling. We heard through the grapevine that she just might be scooped up soon, so make an appointment to meet her today!

***AVAILABLE ON-SITE FRIDAYS AND SATURDAYS ONLY*** **Adoption fee waived for prior adopters, fosters, and hosts** Meet Mozart! This classic little gentleman may not compose symphonies, but he makes up for it with his loving personality and gentle nature. Mozart loves cuddling on the couch with his people just as much as he loves making people laugh. He has a goofy personality and random bursts of spunk that keep things fun. Mozart seems to be fully house trained and hasn't had a single accident in his foster home. In fact, he will let you know that it's potty time by going to the back door and giving a little sigh. Mozart also sleeps in his crate throughout the night without a single peep. He loves everyone that he meets and has been very gentle with young, small children. Mozart loves attention almost as much as he loves mealtime. Mozart is the kind of dog that would fit into almost any family and learn their routines quickly. If you are looking for a smart, soulful, sweet and special dog you have just found him!! Put your application in today to meet Mozart!
