***AVAILABLE ON-SITE THURSDAYS AND FRIDAYS*** Fiona, as a name, is not common and neither is our girl! This little long haired chihuahua is a cute bundle of energy -- confident, friendly, playful, affectionate and ready to shower you with kisses! She loves belly rubs and lounging on the couch as much as she enjoys a nice walk where she can practice her leash skills. Fiona can also can play with the big girls! While in foster, her playmate was a large doodle puppy and they enjoyed wrestling and racing around after one another. Fiona is quite the acrobat when she gets the zoomies - running, rolling, somersaults and backflips! Although Fiona is not aggressive with cats, she is curious and would require the proper training to get along with cats in the house. She is the perfect size for any living arrangement, and she will make a sweet and adorable addition to your family! Make an appointment to meet this darling girl soon!

Truffle and Biscuit were surrendered to our rescue after living with their family for 12 years. They are good with dogs, have had recent dentals, they are snuggly and loving - typical Chis! To apply for these 12 year old siblings, please go to apply.neshamarescue.org

Chip and Dale came into our rescue with two other chihuahuas. They were found when their owner passed away. All of them are sweet and love people and other dogs, but needed dentals and other medical care. Chip and Dale are buddies and would prefer to be adopted together. They like to cuddle in beds and just chill out. Please consider giving these two guys a soft bed to lay in and enjoy their retirement. Apply at apply.neshamarescue.org

Story
(DOB 12/17/2023).  Due to Hubba Bubba's young age, he has not yet been neutered.  For this reason, we are only considering local placement (within 1 hour drive time of Wake Forest NC).  Hubba Bubba has only been with us for 4 weeks, so we are still learning about him.  For now, he is your typical puppy. He is inquisitive about everything and is full of kisses.  He is very loving.  His days are spent eating, sleeping, playing, pottying and repeat.  He just now got enough vaccines to start going outdoors with paws on ground, so true potty training is just beginning.  He is looking for a home with another dog to help him learn how to dog.  His weight as of March 29th is only 6 lbs. This affectionate boy would love a lap, cuddles and a family that has someone that works from home or stays at home. As part of Hubba Bubba’s $325 adoption fee, he will be neutered, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and current on his monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. In addition to the adoption fee, a $100 spay/neuter deposit and puppy spay/neuter agreement will also be required. The deposit will be returned once the puppy is altered.  If you have questions about this sweet little boy, you can email  Dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org.  If you wish to adopt Hubba Bubba, you can fill in an online application for him under the Adopt a Pet Tab on our website:  www.pawsforlifenc.org. ##2010108##

Story
Meet Frankie: A Survivor Frankie is an incredibly resilient and loving puppy who has already overcome so much in his young life. This brave little boy was born into a litter of nine, but unfortunately, his mother ate two of his siblings and tried to harm him, causing him to lose his tail and one toe. Thankfully, our dedicated team was able to save him and give him a second chance at life. Despite his rough start, Frankie is a bundle of joy and affection. His big soulful eyes and wagging tail will instantly melt your heart. This male pup has been tube and syringe fed since he was only two days old, and he's thriving and growing stronger every day. He may have a few battle scars, but they only add to his unique charm. Frankie is a quick learner and loves to play with toys and cuddle with his human friends. His gentle nature makes him great with children and other pets. He's also on his way to mastering his bathroom manners and basic commands. Frankie is now ready to find his forever home where he can continue to grow and flourish. If you're looking for a loyal and loving companion, Frankie is your guy. Come meet this amazing survivor and let him steal your heart. He's eagerly waiting to become part of your family!

Story
Don't let his adorable looks fool you. Mr. Feeny is one grump of an old dude. In fact, if the movie Grumpy Old Men were to be remade, Mr. Feeny would easily get a starring role. He's not all grumbles and grouchiness though. Mr. Feeny will be a loving, snuggly boy when he gets comfortable and finds his person. Don't expect him to always be lovey-dovey. If he is not in the mood for pets and snuggles, this old man will let you know. Do you love to give your dog kisses? Then Mr. Feeny is not the dog for you. If there's one thing he dislikes more than kids, it's kisses. He will love you until he doesn't. But don't worry, he will love you again. While people are not always Mr. Feeny's jam, dogs most definitely are. Mr. Feeny really shines when he has a doggy friend who can match his laidback speed. Because of this, it is strongly preferred that he goes to a home where he can have a canine companion to snuggle and occasionally play with. Mr. Feeny has some arthritis so he will never be a hiker or marathon runner. He is more than happy to be carried around in a dog sling and despite his crankiness, he does love to go out and about for short trips to a brewery or bottle shop. Like most ornery old dudes, Mr. Feeny takes time to warm up to people. This dog has seen some things in his lifetime, so it takes time to gain his trust. In his younger days, Mr. Feeny must have been a party animal. He had to have several teeth pulled when he came to Freedom Ride. He has one lone front tooth (that you may be lucky enough to see if you go in for that kiss) and some molars in the back. Mr. Feeny also has a heart condition that requires daily meds and at least one yearly checkup at the cardiologist. Potential adopters must have experience with senior dogs that require ongoing medical care. The ideal home for Mr. Feeny would be with a single person or a couple that has no kids. Kids make Mr. Feeny nervous and anxious as heck. He is crate-trained and mostly house-trained. If he is startled or super excited, he will piddle a tiny amount. At night, he sleeps soundly in a dog bed. If you fit the bill and are interested in bringing this grumpy old man into your life to help him live out his golden years, please apply today!
