Playful, loyal, and happiest outdoors or in the middle of the action, he’s truly the life of the party! Poe is strong-willed and stubborn, an Akita through and through. He needs someone willing to give him patience, structure, consistency, and time to build trust. He has done well with my dog and our neighbor’s dog and has lived with cats. Unfamiliar dogs require slow, patient introductions and time to adjust.Poe has been kind with children and does well with my toddler. However, he’s big, strong, and energetic and can overwhelm little ones when excited. Interactions with young children should always be supervised. He’s fully potty trained, lets you know when he needs to go outside, and knows basic commands. Poe has cystine crystals from a genetic mutation he needs a low protein diet and neutering may help. With the right home, Poe has plenty of love, fun, and companionship to give
