I'm an old, sleepy guy who likes soft blankets, dog beds and laps. I don't do much, other than sleep and snuggle, but I do occasionally chase the cats. (The cats have no trouble outrunning me because, well, I'm old). I came from a hoarding situation and didn't get great care. I have bad teeth (which will be taken care of) and some hip problems/joint pain. I often won't eat unless my person sits with me. My foster mommy says I need just the right place for my golden years where someone has time to spoil me. Maybe someone who works from home or someone retired? We recently adopted Lucy from a shelter... she is an incredibly sweet and smart dog. She is around 9 months old. She unfortunately has taken to chasing our older cats around the house. The is incredibly stressful for them and not fair to them as we have had them for well over 10 years. Lucy is very active and will need a fenced in back yard to run around in and enjoys walk to burn off some energy. She pulls on the leash and will need trained a bit on that. She is house broken and will go to the door to let you know when she needs to go out. I will give you all of the toys, crate, and bed we have for her. She is up-to-date on her shots. I really wish we could keep this sweet girl but it will just not work out with the way she chases the cats. She does play with other dogs but can sometime jump a little to much on them when playing. She has never shown any signs of aggression at all towards people, cats, or kids. Just a little nibbly which I guess i normal for a pup her age.

Herk is a 6-year-old red purebred dachshund, neutered, calm, and affectionate. He bonds closely with his people, thrives on attention, and needs daily walks. Columbus, Ohio area only. Adults-only home, no children, no other pets. Experienced pet owners only. We're rehoming him due to our son's severe dog allergies. Herk had a liver shunt repair (2020) and back surgery (2025), both fully recovered. Standard dachshund back care required: no jumping, limited stairs, no rough play. He eats The Farmer's Dog (turkey, beef, pork) twice daily with pumpkin. No chicken due to a confirmed allergy. Vet records available.
