Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Hi there! I’m Zuma, a 14 lb Chihuahua mix and I’m thought to be about 11 years old.  My foster hooman is strongly convinced that I am mostly Corgi.     I live harmoniously with two other small dogs, and several cats.  I get along with everybody, but there is one cat who likes to push my buttons, so I do sometimes chase her and bark at her, but she seems to like it. Lol.   I am house trained, but I have had an accident or two in my foster house. This usually happens on rainy or snowy days when I am too much in a hurry and came inside without doing my business. But let’s talk about what a sweetheart I am!  I love to sit by hooman on the couch, and lay on the bed with the whole crew while watching TV.  I mostly hang out on the couch all day while my hooman works from home, and at night we all sleep in the big bed. My preferred spot is the foot of the bed.    I love to take walks in the neighborhood when the weather is nice.  I don’t have any problems with the harness and leash being put on.  And then I am ready to go!   My foster mom keeps telling me that I am so sweet and I’m going to be the best companion and cuddle-pup to a lucky someone. She says I have the most beautiful eyes and soulful expression, and the cutest curly tail she's ever seen! Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Hi… I’m Chico. And Yes, I Know I’m a Little Different. Hi there. I’m Chico. I’m a small dog with a big personality and an even bigger list of quirks. Once upon a time, I had a back injury that healed but left me moving in my own… unique style. My foster mom says I sometimes resemble the little hand from The Adams Family. I’m still not totally sure what that means, but I’ve decided to take it as a compliment. I’m not your “normal” dog. I’m more like a quiet little creature who wants a cozy life, a calm home, and someone who thinks weird is wonderful. About Me I enjoy: Peace Quiet Soft beds Predictable dinners I do not enjoy: Chaos Noise Being rushed Walking fast Walking at all, actually I’m a low-maintenance guy, as long as your definition of low-maintenance includes carrying me outside to pee like a tiny, judgmental prince. The Potty Talk (Here We Go…) Let’s start with the poop, because why not? My poop looks like rabbit turds. Yes, really. Those tiny little pellets. So honestly… is it that bad? I mean, if I must poop indoors when the weather is too cold, too hot, too wet, too windy, or just generally offensive—at least I’m offering rabbit-sized cleanup. That’s thoughtful of me, right? When it comes to peeing, things make a little more sense. In my previous adoptive home, I was peeing constantly. Vet tests were done, but nothing abnormal showed up. Back with my foster mom, as long as she carries me out often, I do really well. I can even sleep through the entire night accident-free! But if I’m left for long periods during the day… mistakes happen. I’m just being honest. The Food Situation (This Is Serious) Now, listen closely: I am PICKY Capital P. Bolded. Underlined. My mom has me on this special food—rice and chicken or rice and lamb by Kona—and I love it. Until I don’t. And then I will absolutely turn my nose up at it, push the bowl away, and go on a full hunger strike like a tiny dramatic artist. So, extremely important note: Do not stock up on one food. Because as soon as you buy a month’s supply, I will decide—without warning—that I hate it. And then you will have to figure out the next acceptable meal to satisfy His Royal Highness, aka me. Where I Thrive I do best in a home that is: Very quiet Very calm Very patient Maybe has a fenced yard (I potty better off-leash) Has no kids Has someone home often Isn’t looking for a hiking buddy, gym partner, or even a medium-energy dog My Adoption Story I had one adoption that didn’t work out. They tried hard, but my potty quirks were too much for that environment. It made me sad to come back, but I was also relieved to return to the predictable routine of my foster home. Now my foster mom is being super careful to make sure my next home is my forever home. No more bouncing around. I deserve someone who gets me. What I Can Offer You I won’t fetch balls. I won’t do tricks. I won’t hike mountains. I won’t go for long walks. But I will be your quiet, quirky companion. I’ll celebrate dinner with a wiggle. I’ll sleep soundly knowing you’re nearby. And I will love you—with all my little oddities—for the rest of my life. If you read all this and thought, “Honestly? I adore this weird little guy.” …then maybe you’re my person.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Interested in adopting this lovable animal? Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Chica – Your Snuggle Sidekick! Chica is a sweet and petite Chihuahua mix with an estimated birthday of July 20, 2015. She’s up to date on core vaccines, microchipped, and heartworm negative—ready for her forever home! Chica’s calm, cuddly nature makes her the perfect companion for someone who enjoys cozy nights in and constant company. She loves burrowing under blankets, sleeping in bed, and curling up in your lap (bonus points if you carry her around like royalty). While she’s not big on toys, she’s still spry enough to hop on couches and beds all by herself. She also enjoys walks, car rides, and might just surprise you with her window-rolling skills. Chica’s true “love language” is quality time—she thrives in a home where her people are around often. She’s great with cats, dogs, and kids, though she can be a little hesitant with men at first. Around the house, she may bark to alert you if someone’s entering or getting too close to her resting spot, but she’s very friendly toward people she meets on walks. If you’re looking for a loyal, low-drama, high-snuggle best friend, Chica just might be your girl.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Interested in adopting this lovable animal?
