Story
Missy Girl is the very definition of resilience. This beautiful 2-year-old Chihuahua and Blue Heeler mix has already lived through more uncertainty than most dogs should ever know, yet her heart remains open and full of love. She was part of a heartbreaking situation involving a large number of neglected animals living in a troubled home where both pets and people had been abandoned to fend for themselves. When things finally fell apart, Missy Girl found herself wandering the streets of her small town, searching for food, shelter, and safety. With the local shelter already full, county officers stepped in to help provide food and support to the loose animals until they could safely bring them in one by one. Today, Missy Girl is finally safe with Critter Cavalry Rescue, where she is receiving the care, stability, and kindness she has always deserved. At around 20 pounds, Missy Girl is the perfect medium-sized companion. She’s a smart and sturdy little girl with the intelligence of a Blue Heeler and the loyal heart of a Chihuahua. Despite everything she has endured, she is housebroken, affectionate, and happiest when she’s close to her people.Missy Girl loves the simple things in life that she likely missed before—curling up on the sofa beside her foster mom, soaking up affection, and enjoying the comfort of a normal home. She has a playful spirit and enjoys having fun, but she also appreciates quiet moments of love and companionship. Car rides still make her a little nervous because of the uncertainty they once meant in her life, but with patience and love, she will learn that new adventures can lead to wonderful places. Missy Girl has survived the hardest chapter of her life. Now she is ready for the part of the story where she is cherished, safe, and deeply loved for the rest of her days. She is currently fostered in Nashville, Tennessee and can be transported north on March 13, 2026 to the right forever home.
