Story

Chihuahuas are some of the most beloved breeds in America today. Their small bodies and tender, loving souls bring the kind of affection that so many people are searching for. They don’t need much space or food, yet they give enormous companionship, loyalty, and joy. These little dogs want to be at the center of their person’s world, creating bonds that last a lifetime and leaving a legacy of love that endures even after they are gone. Grant’s story is one of resilience and hope. He came from a home with too many dogs and not enough care, ending up in a tiny shelter in Tennessee, frightened and unsure of the world. Despite this uncertain past, Grant has a gentle heart and a sweet, affectionate nature that is shining through more every day. Grant is a handsome 1-year-old, 15-pound Chihuahua with the most charming white sock “leggings” that make him truly stand out. He’s a tall little boy with a big heart, and though he can be a bit nervous at first, he is making remarkable progress in just two weeks with us. Like a child a little afraid of the dark, Grant simply needs patience, love, and gentle reassurance. Once he feels safe, he will gladly curl up in your lap, soak up attention, and shower you with affection. He is good with other dogs, though sometimes a little bossy at first—likely a habit from his uncertain past—but he quickly backs down once he feels secure. Grant is mostly housebroken and does well in a home without a crate. He is a climber and clever little adventurer, so confining him isn’t the best idea. He thrives when allowed to move freely, and he won’t tear anything up. Grant is a small dog with enormous potential to become a loving, devoted companion for the right person. He is ready to blossom in a home that will give him the patience and affection he deserves, one cozy, comforting day at a time. To make Grant a part of your life, email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com. Please include your city and state. PLEASE NOTE: Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted. Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site. The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive. Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comOctober 16, 2026, 3:05 pm

Story

Pacino Pepe is a 9 year old White Chihuahua with the biggest and sweetest eyes you have ever seen. This tiny 5 pound boy has been a loyal partner for years to an older woman with MS and cancer and now she has passed and he is an orphan looking for a new senior home to bright some joy and love to. He lived with his former Mom and was deeply bonded with her as she was fairly isolated and never left the house. This boy is housebroken and pee pad trained but will go outside as well. He will make a fuss if you leave the room and he is not with you. A homebody person that just loves the home environment and puttering outside in the yard could be the ideal new adopter for Pacino Pepe. He does get along with other dogs but he truly wants to claim his female person immediately and follow her everywhere. The foster family went to church with his mom and reassured her they would fine him a home. He is a very affectionate dog that is crate trained and housebroken. He is also comfortable with frequent visitors of various ages as well. If you are interested in Pacino Pepe please email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com He has a long and healthy life ahead of him and has recently passed his bloodwork with flying colors and had a dental. He is of course neutered and heartworm negative and microchipped. PLEASE NOTE: Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted. Good with kids, Good with dogs, Good with cats, Spayed or Neutered, Shots are up-to-date,

Story

Buttercup and her sister, Bubbles were surrendered to a kill shelter because their owners just had too many and couldn’t find homes on their own. Their mom is a long-haired Chihuahua and their daddy is a Shih Tzu and they were born on February 2nd last year so they are now a year old. Buttercup has been spayed, is up-to-date on vaccines and heartworm negative. She’s also microchipped. She weighs about 7 pounds and is full grown now. She is great at the Vet and The Groomer and loves riding in the car. She needs a little practice on the leash and she’s making great progress on house training. Buttercup is a little shy at first, and she definitely tries to boss her sister around, but they really love each other! She and Buttercup are very bonded and we would very much like to get them a home together. They are so funny together! They play and run zoomies around the house. They would do well with older children and we have not had them around cats but we feel like they would be fine with proper introduction. If you would like to give this super affectionate love bug along with her sister, their forever home, please email omlc7@hotmail.com or dogs4mylife@gmail.com. Not good with dogs, Not good with cats, Needs experienced adopter, Spayed or Neutered,

Story

Lola came from a hoarding situation in South Jersey. She’s a shy and nervous dog, needing someone who knows how to handle this type of dog. Due to her fear she can be standoffish. Thunderstorms frighten her and will look to you for comfort. Wrapping her in a towel or blanket and holding her will help until the storm passes. She’s in good health, weight and appetite. Not fussy about food. She has a companion dog, Rosita, who is also available for adoption. Due to financial difficulties she is currently not up to date with her vaccinations. If adopting both, fee will be reduced to $65 for the two.

She has her companion dog Lola, another chihuahua who is also available for adoption. Rosita is in good health, microchipped and spayed. Due to being unable to afford veterinary services, she is not up to date on her shots.
