Story
Behaviors- Cats: she has been around them and is interested and seems to want to play but loses interest quickly when they just stare at her. Other dogs: she does well but slow introductions are always good. She currently stays with larger dogs and plays nonstop. She loves her foster siblings. She was in a home with an alpha senior chug and while she put up with a lot of being bossed around, she didn’t love it. So other alpha dogs or those that resource guard would not likely do well with coco, as she isn’t one to lie down to them. Children: she loves kiddos that she has been around, ages 7,10 and 14. Smaller unpredictable children would need to be introduced slowly and not without supervision Adults: she is timid at first. She will find a safe space until she feels comfortable. People can pet her but again, it takes a few minutes before she will settle in and allow that. She has never ever shown aggression toward anyone, just a little timid at times. It took a bit for her to get used to a man more than a woman but with treats she was quickly won over. Potty Training Progress: she is 100% potty trained. Other behavioral info: she is truly the best! She loves to cuddle and be brushed (which she needs daily along with a monthly or bimonthly grooming)! She loves belly rubs and kisses on her little bear like snoot. She is by far the easiest foster babe I have ever had. So well behaved and so sweet. She even does relatively well on a leash. She does pull some but nothing too bad. Some training would be in order but as smart as she is, she will be a pro in no time. She does love to go outside, and the cool weather makes her super happy. She is a dog that needs lots of exercise, so to keep her from exhibiting behavioral issues (if you know about chow chows, you know what I’m talking about). I have worked with her in the few days I’ve had her on sitting and shaking and she has both almost mastered. Again, she is very smart and eager to learn (very treat motivated). Great things about Coco: she looks like a little black bear and feels like one too. She loves to be loved on and would make an amazing doggo to just the right person. Other things to know about Coco: She is a Chow Chow thru and thru, so to research this breed and all that comes with them is necessary prior to considering her.

Story
Watch Sugar live in action: https://www.swh.org/staff-favorites.htmlHi there, I'm Sugar! My name is no coincidence - I'm as sweet as can be! I'm a 5-year-old Chow Chow mix. I love to play, whether it's fetch, tug-of-war, or just goofing around. Not only am I playful, but I'm also quite smart. I learn quickly and I'm always eager to show off my new tricks. I have some stranger danger at first, and it will take me a minute to cozy up to you. Once I get to know you, I'm a loyal friend, always by your side, ready to lend a paw or a comforting nuzzle! I can be a bit protective of my people, so for this reason, I'd do best in a home without young kids. I'm looking for a family that doesn't have other pets, so I can shower them with all my love and loyalty. I have a huge heart full of love that I'm ready to share with a human! I'm just waiting for the right person to give it to. Could that be you?
