Story
BONDED PAIR Hi there! I’m Cherry Pie, and this is my sister Spy — and where I go, she goes. We’re a package deal, and honestly, we wouldn’t have it any other way. We came to Florida Coastal Cocker Rescue after our beloved humans passed away, and we’re hoping with all our hearts to find a new forever family to love. We’re both senior cocker spaniel girls — I’m 11.5 and Spy is 12.5 — and we have so much love left to give. Now, I’ll tell you a little about our situation. Spy has that adorable black and white fur and is blind, and I am a beautiful black cocker and have only one eye (my foster mom calls it my permawink — I think it’s charming). We both have glaucoma and cataracts and take daily eye drops like total pros. Our hearing isn’t what it used to be either, but honestly, we hear what matters — the treat bag crinkling and our humans calling our names. We’re also working on slimming down just a little, because our best years are still ahead of us! Here’s something people don’t always realize about us — we light up when our people engage with us. Toys, treat puzzles, yard time, meeting new friends — we are IN. We’re food motivated, take treats like the refined ladies we are, and we especially love a good treat toy that keeps our minds sharp. The more you give us, the more we give back! We also love being right next to our people — on the couch, at their feet, or ideally in the bed (but a cozy dog bed works too, we’re flexible). We’re housebroken, sleep through the night, love car rides, and are total angels at the groomer. We’re good with other dogs and cats and we think we’d do calm, older children too. Oh, and a few things you should know about us that will make you smile — Spy lets out the most adorable little muffled “woof” every now and then, and when I get excited? I hop. Like a bunny. You’re welcome. Because of our vision, leash walks are still a work in progress — but we LOVE being outside, meeting people who fawn over us (as they should), and sniffing around a yard. A securely fenced yard would be the dream. If you’re looking for two gentle, loving souls who just want to spend their golden years cherished and close to their people — we are YOUR girls. Story
Hi friends! I’m Arthur, a 10-year-old cocker spaniel mix boy with a gorgeous coat and a full tail that wags non-stop! I’m 30lbs of pure sweetness looking for my happily ever after. My story is pretty wild – I was found as a stray in an overcrowded California shelter the week before Christmas, and I was pretty sick. But a Good Samaritan couldn’t leave me behind, rescued me, and brought me all the way to Florida where I was nursed me back to health! Now FCCR is helping find me my forever home. I LOVE people (including older dog-savvy kids) and would do best in a calm household where someone’s around most of the day. I’m a total lovebug who adores being with my humans! I will roll over for belly rubs whenever anyone talks to me…even in an elevator and that’s how I greet my foster mom when she comes home. It’s my signature move…i roll over to collect my tummy tax! That said, I do fine when left home alone too. I’m fully housebroken, polite (no barking or chewing!), and I have excellent house manners. I wait to be invited onto furniture and take treats so gently. I love to explore, love to run, and love to cuddle. I get along with other calm dogs but don’t know about cats. I walk great on a leash even near busy streets, and I’m super chill – loud noises don’t faze me one bit! Here’s what you need to know about me: I have great hearing but have limited vision (blind in one eye, limited in the other). I am a pretty confident guy and I can map out my surroundings quickly but I’m not comfortable with staircases (a few steps are fine). I take daily eye drops like an absolute champ! I Because of my eyesight, I would do best with a calm doggie sibling who doesn’t mind me getting really close to them. Conversely if a dog startles me by getting too close (even just to be friendly) I may bark and retreat — it can be a little scary when someone is in your face. You know, personal space and all. Oh, and I just learned how to play and did my first zoomie – talk about living my best life! Could you be the forever family this sweet senior has been waiting for? Story
Woof! The name's Mykah, and I'm a gorgeous 5-year-old black cocker spaniel with a BIG personality packed into my perfect 28-pound frame! Let me paint you a picture of my ideal day: It starts with me doing my happy dance because someone's reaching for my leash - I am PASSIONATE about my walks! Sure, I'm still working on my "chill out when I see other dogs and people" skills, but hey, nobody's perfect, right? Next up? Time to channel my inner athlete! Whether I'm dominating a game of fetch, conducting serious squirrel research in the yard, or making waves in the backyard pool, I bring 110% energy to everything I do. But here's where I get really special - I’m a big love at heart and once I get to know you and feel safe, I am yours forever!! I will become your devoted sidekick, ready for movie nights, morning snuggles, and being the best shadow you've ever had! and because I bond so strongly with my humans, it would be best if there are no small kids in the house. I'm also a total gentleman when it comes to house manners and grooming (these good looks don't maintain themselves!), I get along with other dogs but not cats, and I've already mastered the art of toy hunting - seriously, I've found every single one in this place! I’m looking for an active, adult-only family where someone is home most of the time to appreciate all this fabulousness. Think that could be you? If yes, then please complete an application using this link: https://tinyurl.com/FCCRadoptionapp
