Story
SPECIAL NEEDS - Meet Captain Jack Sparrow! This gorgeous sweet boy is an 11 yo, 33 lb cocker spaniel. He gets along with other dogs but we don’t know about cats. We are looking for a quiet, gentle, adult only home (with one floor living and a fenced-in yard) for Jack. He has arthritis affecting his spine and back legs and takes daily medication. As a result he cannot get on furniture unless helped up, but he loves to be with his humans and get belly rubs. He loves to go out in the backyard to explore and sniff. He enjoys his naps and rides well in the car. As with older dogs, his vision and hearing is limited but his nose knows and he enjoys treat puzzles or treat toys that challenge him to find the food. If you are interested in adopting Captain Jack Sparrow, please complete an application through our website, www.floridacockerrescue.org. His adoption fee is $285.

Story
Noah is our tall, dark and handsome man! He is a distinguished Cocker Springer Spaniel gentleman at 11 years young and around 50 lbs.( yes he is a bit chubby and needs to lose about 12 lbs). His owner passed away and no one else in the family would take him so we promised him a wonderful new home for his golden years. He loves attention and being petted and likes an occasional game of fetch. Noah has started to come out of his shell and is showing interest in going out and wagging his tail. He is pretty good on a leash and enjoys short strolls. Noah does well with other dogs his size or bigger so would be best as an only dog. He has not been tested with cats; we think he would do best in a kid-free home. As with anyone with senior status, his vision and hearing are not pawfect anymore (we can relate %BD%BD%BD%BD) but he gets around just fine. He is a sweet, mellow boy who will make a great companion for a family especially one where someone is home of the day. If you are interested in giving Noah a second chance at a great life, please complete an application through our website, www.floridacockerrescue.com. His adoption fee is 200

Story
Cuteness Overload! Meet Stanley, a strikingly handsome 2-year-old, 27 lb black and tan cocker spaniel who is looking for a very ACTIVE family with a fenced-in yard. He is a precious boy who is still all puppy and just wants to be loved! His favorite pastime is doing zoomies all around the yard, lanai and in his foster home until he crashes for a nap or stops for a treat. He also still has some of that puppy tendency to chew BUT the good news is that he is as smart as he is irresistible and can be redirected and easily trained. We are looking for an experienced adopter who will give him the proper training infused with love and boundaries. In return we are confident that Stanley will become a well-mannered little boy who will bring joy to his human and be loved to the moon and back. This little guy loves hearing his name and getting praise and now seeks out his foster Mom for pets. He gets along great with other dogs and we believe he would benefit from having a doggie sibling. We don’t know about cats or kids. If you would like to be Stanley’s human, please complete an application through our website, www.floridacockerrescue.org. His adoption fee is $325.00.

Story
Single Cocker Spaniel male seeking an active and fun family! Tyson is an adorable 9 year old, 40 lb boy who is always ready for adventure. He is very good with other dogs and loves to play with them. Tyson is full of energy and L.O.V.E.S to go on walks. He has great leash walking skills and would make an excellent exercise companion. Tyson is a true velcro Cocker and will be your shadow. He always wants to be in the know on the latest family activity. He has excellent house manners and has free roam of his foster home. He prefers to join his humans wherever they go but will wait patiently for their return. At night he likes to sleep in his own bed near his humans. He does not like to be crated. If you would like to welcome Tyson to your family, please complete an application through our website, www.floridacockerrescue.org. His ADOPTION FEE is $295.

Story
PENDING ADOPTION Cuteness Overload - Welcome Sammy, a 2 year old, 23 lb, chocolate cocker spaniel with a white chest and a full tail!!! We don’t know how this cutie ended up at the shelter but we know a loving and safe home is in his future. He requires slow introductions with new people and prefers women over men but once he knows he is safe, he will be your forever velcro friend. We are looking for a NO KIDS home for Sammy. Sammy gets along with dogs; we have not seen him with cats. He is still of puppy age and has LOTS of energy — he loves playing chase, water play, hunting lizards in the yard, and being outside exploring his new world. His ideal forever home has a fenced-in yard so he can run and play to his heart’s content. He excels at afternoon naps and walks pretty well on a leash but would benefit from training. He enjoys car rides with his humans and any activity that involves human attention. He wants to be part of everything you are doing so be prepared for a cute nose in the shower and bathroom. 😂 And in case you are not paying attention, he really loves to grab a good pair of slippers and run around the house with them until he decides to return them. He has excellent house manners and is a fast learner — he has mastered sit and stay before meals. Sammy is not fond of grooming and will require an experienced groomer to keep him looking his cocker best! If you are interested in welcoming Sammy into your family, please complete an application through our website, www.floridacockerrescue.org. His ADOPTION FEE is $350.

Story
PENDING ADOPTION Welcome applications for Teddy from Florida and surrounding states and Virginia. Teddy’s new home was not a good match for him (not his fault) and so we are looking for a new and pawfect forever match. Meet Teddy, a 3 year old , 23 lb HANDSOME tri color cocker boy. Teddy was living outside in Georgia and a Good Samaritan took him in and then reached out for our help. He is a super sweet and loving boy who bonds with his human quickly. He has had a lot of uncertainty in his young life and needs an experienced cocker adopter who is ideally home a lot and will work with him to feel more confident and overcome his fears of meeting new people and dogs. Teddy enjoys going on walks with his foster siblings and does well in the pack but he can be easily startled by street traffic and other people and dogs. He is practicing how to be less reactive and will need continued training. Teddy is very smart and learns fast — he knows sit, down and stay and is ready to learn more. He is true to the cocker breed and loves to work in the fenced-in yard to flush out birds and chase squirrels. Teddy is happiest when he is working in the yard or with his human doing training. He loves to please and is very treat-motivated. He would be ideal for nose-work or scent tracking as his nose is always to the ground. Teddy gets along with other dogs but would ideally have a young fur sibling playmate who is more assertive, will help him feel secure and help teach him good doggie manners. No cats for Teddy as he loves to chase them. We also recommend no kids for Teddy. He LOVES toys that squeak and will play fetch for hours. Most of all he loves to be held, kissed on and is a total snuggle bug!!! He is excellent in the car and taking baths. Teddy appears to have suffered a jaw trauma when he was a puppy but it has completely healed - only evidence of it is a slight droop on his lower left jaw which honestly gives him a silly and lovable look about him. If you are interested in opening your home and heart to Teddy, please complete an application through our website, www.floridacockerrescue.org. His Adoption fee is $350.
