Story
Hi friends! I’m Arthur, a 10-year-old cocker spaniel mix boy with a gorgeous coat and a full tail that wags non-stop! I’m 30lbs of pure sweetness looking for my happily ever after. My story is pretty wild – I was found as a stray in an overcrowded California shelter the week before Christmas, and I was pretty sick. But a Good Samaritan couldn’t leave me behind, rescued me, and brought me all the way to Florida where I was nursed me back to health! Now FCCR is helping find me my forever home. I LOVE people (including older dog-savvy kids) and would do best in a calm household where someone’s around most of the day. I’m a total lovebug who adores being with my humans! I will roll over for belly rubs whenever anyone talks to me…even in an elevator and that’s how I greet my foster mom when she comes home. It’s my signature move…i roll over to collect my tummy tax! That said, I do fine when left home alone too. I’m fully housebroken, polite (no barking or chewing!), and I have excellent house manners. I wait to be invited onto furniture and take treats so gently. I love to explore, love to run, and love to cuddle. I get along with other calm dogs but don’t know about cats. I walk great on a leash even near busy streets, and I’m super chill – loud noises don’t faze me one bit! Here’s what you need to know about me: I have great hearing but have limited vision (blind in one eye, limited in the other). I am a pretty confident guy and I can map out my surroundings quickly but I’m not comfortable with staircases (a few steps are fine). I take daily eye drops like an absolute champ! I Because of my eyesight, I would do best with a calm doggie sibling who doesn’t mind me getting really close to them. Conversely if a dog startles me by getting too close (even just to be friendly) I may bark and retreat — it can be a little scary when someone is in your face. You know, personal space and all. Oh, and I just learned how to play and did my first zoomie – talk about living my best life! Could you be the forever family this sweet senior has been waiting for? Apply here to adopt me: www.floridacockerrescue.org ADOPTION FEE: $300

Story
Hi there, I’m Brandi. I’m a gorgeous, sweet, six-year-old girl and at around 30 pounds, I’m the perfect snuggle-sized companion. I’m on the quieter side — you won’t find me barking up a storm unless someone knocks at the door and I gotta let you know! I’m a little shy when I first meet you. But once I decide you’re my person? Oh, the kisses you’ll receive. The cuddles. The warmth. I am a LOVER, through and through. I do best with calm, patient humans who will give me time to come out of my shell — and once I do, I’m all yours. I’m fully housebroken, a total pro in the car (road trip, please!), and I sleep like an angel — ideally right next to you in bed, if you’ll have me. I’m also treat-motivated, and fun fact: I am a big fan of baby carrots. Yes, really. I’ll do best as the only pet or with dogs my size or larger, and in a home without young children (no kids under 12). You can apply to adopt me through the rescue website, www.floridacockerrescue.org. Adoption fee: $395

Woof! The name's Mykah, and I'm a gorgeous 5-year-old black cocker spaniel with a BIG personality packed into my perfect 28-pound frame! Let me paint you a picture of my ideal day: It starts with me doing my happy dance because someone's reaching for my leash - I am PASSIONATE about my walks! Sure, I'm still working on my "chill out when I see other dogs and people" skills, but hey, nobody's perfect, right? Next up? Time to channel my inner athlete! Whether I'm dominating a game of fetch, conducting serious squirrel research in the yard, or making waves in the backyard pool, I bring 110% energy to everything I do. But here's where I get really special - I’m a big love at heart and once I get to know you and feel safe, I am yours forever!! I will become your devoted sidekick, ready for movie nights, morning snuggles, and being the best shadow you've ever had! and because I bond so strongly with my humans, it would be best if there are no small kids in the house. I'm also a total gentleman when it comes to house manners and grooming (these good looks don't maintain themselves!), I get along with other dogs but not cats, and I've already mastered the art of toy hunting - seriously, I've found every single one in this place! I’m looking for an active, adult-only family where someone is home most of the time to appreciate all this fabulousness. Think that could be you? If yes, then please complete an application through our website: www.floridacockerrescue.org.

Story
Hi there! We’re Dexter and Leyla, a bonded pair of 10-year-old Cocker Spaniels looking for our forever home — together! We were recently surrendered to a Florida shelter through no fault of our own, and now we’re ready to fill someone’s home (and sofa!) with all the love we’ve got. Let’s talk about us individually, because we have very different personalities! Dexter is the social butterfly of the two — high energy, totally trustworthy, and always ready to start the day the moment you open your eyes. ☀️ Oh, and fair warning: he’s a certified sock thief. Leyla is our more reserved girl and has some strong opinions — she is not a fan of being picked up suddenly or having her trash treasures taken away. She won't always be glued to your side, but don't let that fool you. Scratch her ears and watch her little paw reach out asking for more (see video in comments). She is a sweet senior lady. We are both treat-motivated (yes, VERY) and our weights (35lbs each) show it!! We are pretty good leash walkers who just need a few minutes to find our groove which is a good thing because we both need to slim down! We sleep through the night like champs in our cozy bedroom beds. 🛏️ We've been left home alone without any issues, and we are mostly housebroken — just a couple of minor accidents early on that were likely just tummy adjustments from a food change. We would do best in a home with dog-savvy kids 13 and up, and while we're probably fine with other dogs, we have no idea how we feel about cats. We come as a package deal — two hearts, four ears to scratch, and twice the love. Apply to adopt us through our website at www.floridacockerrescue.org Adoption fee: $495 for both of us together

Hi there! I’m Dali, a 6-year-old cocker spaniel boy with a gorgeous white and tan coat! I’m 27lbs of hubba-hubba handsome just waiting for the right home to help me shine. Here’s my story: I spent my early years in an apartment with limited outdoor time, so I’m still learning about this big, exciting world! My family realized I needed more – more space, more time, and more adventure – so they asked FCCR to help me find my perfect match. I’m looking for that special someone who will take time to understand me. I have a big heart and lots of love to give but I can be a little nervous when meeting new people (I might bark at first). Once I get to know you and trust you, I’m a big playful lovebug! I need an experienced dog owner who understands that slow introductions and patience help me feel safe and loved. What I REALLY need: a fenced yard where I can run and play to my heart’s content! I LOVE being outside, I LOVE play ball, and having another dog to play with and learn from would be amazing. I’m good with other pups and good with older, dog-savvy kids. I working on my house manners and need a regular potty schedule to help master this skill. As much as I love the outdoors, I get nervous when walking on a leash and can react to other dogs, so I need training and patience from my humans. That’s another reason why having my own fenced-yard to play in is so important for me! Could you be the patient, experienced dog owner I’ve been waiting for? I can’t wait to meet you! Hey there, I’m Charlie! I’m a handsome 5-year-old cocker spaniel boy with a full fluffy tail and I weigh a solid 26 pounds. If you’re looking for a friendly, playful pup whose tail never stops wagging, you’ve found your guy! I am great with other dogs and I’m always ready for a good time. But…a few important things you need to know first: The humans - especially the kids - in my early life were not good to me and so I need a home without kids. I do not like to share my food or toys and when I get a hold of something I really like and want to keep, I can be stubborn about giving it up unless you offer something better. As a result, I need a cocker spaniel-savvy owner who understands how I can be, will work with me and let me think everything (my human wants me to do) is really MY idea. Now, let me tell you about my special talent – the non-stop butt wiggle! When you pet me, hug me, or give me kisses, my whole back end just can’t contain the joy and I wiggle like there’s no tomorrow. It’s pretty much my signature move and I’m told it’s absolutely adorable. I can be a bit of a goofy boy and I wear that badge with pride! I’m crate-trained, love going for car rides and walks, and I know a few basic commands already. I’m a smart cookie and I’d love to learn even more tricks with my new family – just make it fun and I’m all in! Ready to meet your new best friend?
