McFlurry likes treats. McFlurry on the move. MY ORIGINAL INTAKE INFORMATION: Hi Everyone! My name is McFlurry, and I arrived at CSAC about a month ago from a shelter. I have had a tough start. I was found stray, and I had a broken back leg. Everyone was amazed that I was walking around on it. I had it for so long, the bones could not mend back together so the vet suggested amputating the leg. Unfortunately, I had to wait for surgery to remove the leg. I had an upper respiratory infection and a skin infection around the area where my surgery was going to take place. No one wanted to put me in even more danger. The great vets kept me comfortable while I waited for the antibiotics to clear up the infections. I finally had the surgery to remove my broken leg. You can see I am on the mend and waiting to find my new, loving home. Hopefully, I will find my new family that will turn me into a happy, cherished pet. For more information about this dog, email our Adoption Coordinator. Our adoption process starts with an application. The medical and custodial care of the many Cockers in our care is tremendous. More and more dogs are abandoned with urgent and serious medical issues. Meet Sweet Serenity!     You’d be hard-pressed to find a dog sweeter than Serenity. She truly lives up to her name with her gentle and loving nature. It’s heartbreaking to think that anyone could have neglected such a precious soul.   Serenity is a petite 4-year-old, weighing just 11 lbs. She was found wandering as a stray north of Nashville, but even after her profile was shared on every lost-and-found pet site, no one stepped forward for her. One possible reason is an old injury to her right front leg—a break above the joint between her foot and leg that never healed quite right. While her foot now lacks proper support for walking, the injury isn’t painful and doesn’t seem to slow her down. Serenity often shifts her weight to her other legs and has become an expert at the charming Maltese trick of dancing on her hind legs.   Serenity is guaranteed to make you smile—she’s a true trooper with a resilient spirit. She gets along beautifully with dogs of all sizes and is also friendly with cats. This little lady is an excellent car rider and will be a delightful companion for any outing. Her irresistible charm is sure to help you make plenty of new friends wherever you go.   If you’re searching for the perfect little canine companion, Serenity is the one.   > If I had to pick one word to describe Booker, it would be resilient. At just 8 years old and 11 pounds, he’s a Yorkie/Poodle mix who was found on the side of the road in a quiet ruraL of Middle Tennessee. He was rescued on one of the hottest days of summer, and when he was found his fur was so horribly matted, that he had to be shaved down to the skin by the vet tech who is NOT a groomer. She did the best she could do. Now he is starting fresh and slowly he is growing out and his fur is now a beautiful white. From the moment he arrived, Booker won over the whole foster family. He loves to be close to his people and is incredibly affectionate. He gets excited about everything! His love for life and his courage is just incredible to watch. This boy loves everyone and every creature he meets.  He is also very good with dogs of all sizes and is great with kids, too. > Walking on a leash is still a work in progress, but he has come a long way. With some more time and practice, he will be a great dog to take on walks. He also enjoys playing in the backyard, chasing butterflies just like Dolly Parton. Booker is crate-trained or will happily sleep beside you in the bed all night. He can spend all day resting next to you without any complaints or making any sound.
