Sterling is both vision and hearing impaired, which means the world can sometimes feel a little confusing. Because of this, he relies heavily on his people and finds comfort in physical closeness, routine, and reassurance. Once he knows he’s safe, his sweet, affectionate personality shines through in the most beautiful way. He genuinely wants to be the goodest boy. New situations (like vet visits) can be a bit scary, but he tries so hard and responds wonderfully to patience, consistency, and gentle guidance. Meet Blackjack Blackjack is a handsome 3-year-old black doodle with a big heart and an even bigger personality. Weighing in at 80 pounds, this lovable guy is neutered, playful, and full of affection. He’s the kind of dog who wants to be part of everything you’re doing—whether that’s playtime in the yard or relaxing at home with his people. Blackjack is still working on his potty training, so he’ll do best with a patient adopter who can help him stay consistent and set him up for success. The good news? He’s smart and eager to please! He already knows “sit” and “paw,” and he enjoys learning and interacting with his humans. With his friendly nature and loving demeanor, Blackjack would make a wonderful companion for an active home that’s ready to give him guidance, structure, and lots of affection. If you’re looking for a loyal, playful dog who’s ready to keep learning and loving, Blackjack might just be your perfect match. Our hospital is open for adoption visitation Monday through Friday from 7:30 to 5:00pm and Saturday's from 8:00am to 11:00am.  If you have any questions please feel free to call us at             919-266-8177 or email pets4adoption@bellsouth.net.  All adoption fees are cash or check only, we do not accept credit cards for adoption fees. To speed up the adoption process please visit our webiste, www.mmahrescue.org, to fill out an application and get pre-approved when you arrive to meet your new best friend!  Prior to meeting an adoptable animal we do require an approved application to be on file, sorry for this inconvenience.  Cat adoption fees are $50 for kittens under 16 weeks of age and $75 for kittens/cats over 16 weeks of age.  Dog adoption fees are $150 for puppies under 16 weeks of age and $175 for dogs over 16 weeks of age.
