Meet Nelly ❤️
Nelly is a 10-year-old, 23-pound Cocker Spaniel mix who found herself looking for a new home after her owner passed away. And honestly, this sweet girl isn't asking for much. She just wants a soft bed, a peaceful place to hang out, and someone who will love her for the rest of her days.
Nelly is low-key, quiet, and wonderfully uncomplicated. She is house trained and really prefers having a dog door available. She has had no accidents inside and is perfectly happy coming and going as she pleases.
She does well with other dogs, although she's not exactly out there looking to make every dog her new best friend. She mostly keeps to herself. She currently lives with her sister, Kaya, and the two do well together. We'd absolutely love to see Nelly and Kaya find a home together, but we also want to be realistic — adopting them together is a wish, not a requirement.
Nelly is good with men, women, and respectful children. She doesn't really bother with anyone or anything. She's content to exist peacefully in her own little world. Well... unless the mower starts. 😂 Apparently that is still exciting enough to warrant some attention!
She's a picky eater, will happily claim a soft bed as her own, and will need regular grooming to keep her looking and feeling her best.
And then there's that little tongue. ❤️ Every now and then, just the very tip sticks out the front of her mouth, and it is quite possibly the cutest thing about this already adorable old lady.
Nelly has no known medical issues and is simply looking for someone who understands that older dogs don't need a lot of fanfare. They need comfort, stability, patience, and a person who sees the value in giving a senior dog a wonderful chapter two.
Nelly deserves that.
If your idea of the perfect dog is one who doesn't need to be the center of attention, doesn't need constant entertainment, and is perfectly happy to hang out on a soft bed while you go about your day, Nelly may be your girl. ❤️

All of our animals are fully vetted, which includes spay/neuter, up-to-date vaccines, deworming, heartworm testing and treatment if necessary, current flea/tick/heartworm prevention, and microchipping prior to adoption.
