Story
🐾 Meet Maggie 🐾 Cocker Spaniel / Poodle Mix | 3 years old | 16 lbs Maggie is a smart, devoted little companion with a big personality packed into a petite body. She is exceptionally obedient, eager to please, and truly enjoys being with her people. If you’re looking for a dog who wants to be involved in your day-to-day life, Maggie is your girl. ✨ Personality & Lifestyle Maggie is low to moderate energy and thrives with a nice balance of daily walks, playtime, and quality couch time. She loves lounging on the back of the couch and has a hilarious obsession with chairs — rumor has it she’ll even use one to climb onto the table just to get a better view out the window. 👀🐶 She is very food motivated, which makes training fun and effective, though it also means if food is within reach… she will absolutely help herself. Counters and kitchen tables would not stand a chance if she could reach them! 🐕 Training & Manners Completely house trained and uses a dog door Crate trained, quiet, and non-destructive Great recall, but still working on reliability Loves car rides and does very well in the car 🚗 Enjoys playdates, but… 🏡 Ideal Home While Maggie does well with other dogs, she is a dominant female and can grumble when food is involved (she is correctable). Because of this, we believe she would thrive best as an only dog with an attentive owner looking for a loyal companion. She does fine with kids, though older kids are preferred, and she has a definite soft spot for girls 💕. Maggie would love a home where someone is home more often than not. 📣 A Few Things to Know Maggie will alert you if she thinks an intruder is nearby, so an apartment with lots of outside noise may not be ideal She needs regular grooming She sheds very little, but we cannot guarantee she is hypoallergenic Sometimes when being held or petted she “grumbles” — it’s more of a talkative grunt than anything mean. She just likes to express herself 😄 💖 The Bottom Line Maggie is a charming, opinionated, affectionate little dog who is ready to settle into her forever home. She’s best suited for someone wanting a true companion — one who will make you laugh, keep you company, and always be nearby (probably on the couch… or the chair… or the table). 🐾 Adoption Info: All of our animals are fully vetted, which includes spay/neuter, up to date on vaccines, wormed, heartworm tested and treated if necessary, up to date on flea/tick/heartworm prevention, and microchipped prior to adoption. Our requirements are non-negotiable and include the following: All current pets in the home must be spayed or neutered if over 6 months of age, unless there is a documented medical exemption with veterinary confirmation. All current dogs must be up to date on Rabies and Distemper/Parvo (DHPP) vaccinations. All current dogs must be on consistent, consecutive heartworm prevention. Past dogs listed on the application must also show a consecutive history of heartworm prevention. To start the adoption process, please fill out our application here: 👉 https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/WAG/Dog Please also take a moment to read our requirements located in the application. Please note: The dog you’re applying for might already have a meet-and-greet scheduled, be on a trial with another family, or has been offered to another rescue within our network. Don’t worry though — we’re always happy to help you find another great match if that happens! Our goal is to make sure every pup ends up in the best home for their needs (and yours too!).
