Story
Enid is a cocker spaniel mix. He is super friendly with humans. He loves attention and having his ears and back scratched. He will play with toys but is usually more interested in knowing what you are doing and if you will sit with him and give him pets and snuggle. He does like to play some tug-o-war and will chase toys, but he isn't interested in giving the toys back to you. He doesn't seem to mind the other dogs in the kennel, but he's not super interested in them either. He is potty trained, he keeps his kennel clean and rarely has accidents. This boy is super sweet and loving. He will make a great companion. He is young (~2yrs) so he will require some play time and or walks to keep him occupied. But, he will be very happy with a bit of play time and lots of snuggle time.  ##2861743##

Story
Adoption pending 11/5/2026..... Sarla is a beautiful girl!! She came in to rescue as a breeder surrender. Sarla is very gentle and sweet, however she is fearful of human touch. She will shake with fear when you hold her or touch her until she realizes she is safe and then she will melt in your arms. We do not know why she is like this. More than likely she was not treated good as a baby or from just lack of human love. Again, she had one purpose and that was to produce puppies for profit. Sarla will need a calm home with a secure fenced yard. She feels safe having a fur friend to take the lead for her and to show her the ropes. Sarla will come out of her fear of humans once she is in a loving home and they have taken the time to show her love. Sarla is doing great here in rescue as we are just letting her "be a dog". We are not asking anything of her at this point, just letting her have the freedom to run and explore the big fenced yard. She follows us everywhere and loves to be with us. She will make a wonderful little girl for a home that has patience to spend with her. We do still need to vet Sarla, but we wanted to get her posted for adoption. If there is a potential home for her we will make her vetting priority. Please email us with any questions or to request an application.

Story
Meet Ginger!  Ginger is 11 months old.  She is a fun-loving, happy-go-lucky girl with a heart full of love and just the right amount of sass! Ginger has never met a stranger and is convinced that everyone she meets, both humans and dogs, is her new best friend. She's equal parts playful and snuggle bug, with a special love for belly rubs, cuddles, and being the center of attention. Ginger loves children, playing fetch, and spending time outdoors. She would thrive with an active family and a fenced-in yard where she can run and play. She's a smart girl who likes to stay busy, and when boredom strikes, her mischievous side can make an appearance! Chew toys are a favorite, pig ears are a special treat, and she's never been known to leave a crumb behind at mealtime.  Ginger is housetrained & we are working on crate training her.  She needs a family that will continue that training with her. While Ginger enjoys her dog friends, her favorite place is wherever her humans are. She's happiest just being in the same room with you, especially if you're giving her attention. Her adorable head tilts when you talk to her are guaranteed to melt your heart! Ginger has a little sass, a whole lot of personality, and an endless supply of love to give. She's ready to find her forever family who will embrace her playful spirit, keep her busy, and give her all the cuddles she deserves! Ginger does have a hooded vulva.  While this hasn't caused her any issues she does require daily cleaning to prevent possible issues.  She is spayed, microchipped, up to date on her vaccines until Feb. 2027, & on prevention.   Her adoption fee is $200. You can apply to adopt at www.trackingintheshadows.com. Click on adoptable pets. Scroll down unil you see her picture & click on it. Click on the blue ADOPT button to complete the application.  Once approved, we will set up a day/time for you to meet her.  Please be ready to take her home within 1-3 days after application approval. *We do not accept electric/underground fences. All dogs & cats in the home must be spayed/neutered & up to date on core vaccines & preventatives in order for your application to be approved.* Please live within 1 hour of Elkhart, IN. ##2609232##
