Story
Maz K9ta's story could have ended before it truly began. This adorable 14-pound girl was saved from the euthanasia list and given a second chance at life. Shortly after entering rescue, she required the removal of one of her eyes, but she has recovered beautifully and is ready to find a family of her own.Now that she's feeling better, Maz's personality has really blossomed. She's energetic, playful, and loves doing zoomies around the yard. She enjoys long walks and would make a fantastic hiking companion for an active adopter.Maz is a true Velcro dog who forms strong bonds with her people and wants to be involved in everything you do. While she can coexist with other dogs, she doesn't enjoy sharing her favorite human and would likely be happiest as an only dog or with a dog who is mellow.Maz is potty trained, knows basic commands like "sit" and "come," and is continuing to work on crate training. She can be vocal at times and is learning the command "quiet."Like many dogs who have experienced uncertainty, Maz has resource guarding behaviors around food, treats, and high-value items. She should be fed separately from other pets and will need an adopter committed to positive reinforcement training and management. She also has a prey drive, so a home without cats would be best.Because of her resource guarding tendencies and desire to have her people to herself, we do not believe Maz is a good fit for a home with young children.Maz would thrive with an adopter who can provide structure, exercise, training, and lots of companionship. Her adopter would also understand that Maz may take a bit longer to adjust in a new home. In return, you'll get a loyal, resilient little dog who wants nothing more than to be by your side. Before adoption, all Boxers and Buddies dogs are spayed/neutered, up-to-date with age appropriate vaccinations, microchipped. All dogs are fostered in a foster home where they are treated like family - practicing socialization skills. After submitting an application, our team will contact you within 24 hours. The adoption process includes an interview, home check, meet-and-greet (all household dogs must attend), verification that rental properties allow dogs if applicable, and completion of a training course with a certified positive reinforcement trainer. We require professional obedience training from a certified trainer for ALL adoptions. Story
Name: Spanky Breed: Cocker Spaniel Mix Gender: Male (Neutered) Date of Birth: Approximately March 2020 🐾 About Me: Hello, I'm Spanky, a charming Cocker Spaniel mix with a heart of gold. I may have had a rocky start, but I'm on a journey of self-improvement and becoming the best version of myself. 🌟 Personality: I'm a sweet and gentle soul, but I can get easily overwhelmed by high-stimulation environments. I'm working hard on my rehabilitation to find my inner calm and build confidence. 🐾 Health and Safety: Rest assured, I'm microchipped and up-to-date on all my vaccinations to ensure I stay healthy and safe. 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Home Requirements: I do best in a home without children, cats, or dogs larger than me, as these can be a bit too much for me to handle. I need a calm and patient environment where I can continue my progress. 🐶 Favorite Activities: I absolutely love a game of fetch, and I'm a water enthusiast! When the warmer months roll around, you'll find me splashing around in my beloved swimming pool. 🏡 Adoption Status: I'm not quite ready for adoption just yet, as I'm still on my journey to becoming the best companion I can be. But keep an eye on me, because I'm working hard to be the perfect addition to a loving and understanding family. Stay tuned for updates on my progress, and thank you for considering me as a potential member of your family! 🐾❤️
