Story
Panther is being fostered in PA.9/8/26: Panther continues to heal from her first TECA surgery, an infection delayed healing a little bit and we hope to be able to remove her sutures in another week or so. Her sutures have been removed from her eye and it has healed very well. She's feeling a little shy and will only let us take pictures of her "good side"! Such a prima donna! She is still waiting for BDRA to raise the remaining funds so that we can schedule her second TECA surgery. We are about halfway there but until we have raised the money, she has to wait a little longer. My name is Panther and I want a home where I will have someone to cuddle me all the time! I will follow you around and show you just how much love I have to give. I live with a bunch of other dogs in my foster home and I like them all but if I have to be the only dog that you love, well, I'm fine with that too!My favorite thing in the world is Churro treats. My foster mom likes to hide medicine in them and she thinks I don't know it, but I don't care because Churro bites make everything yummy! I'm not a picky eater but when my foster mom puts some homemade food on top of my kibble, oh boy is that the good stuff! I gobble that down so fast!I like going out for a little while but I would rather be inside laying on the couch or a bed, even the floor. Sometimes it gets just too hot out there and I don't like that. I will walk for you on a leash but I would rather just run along with my foster mom through my fenced in yard. It's so much fun following her around.I've had a bit of a rough time, they just stole my left eye, I don't know what they plan to do with it, it's broken, but whatever. I don't even miss it a little bit. They also did some big surgery to my left ear. My foster mom calls it a TECA and the surgeon explained to me that it was a Total Ear Canal Ablation. I don't know what that means but I know they took all the yucky things out of my ear and now it feels so much better. They tell me I'm going to have the same thing done in my right ear. I can't wait, my right ear hurts so badly too! My foster mom said that they are waiting until they raise the money to do it. I don't know what money is, but I hope they raise it soon so I can feel all better!Right now I am not looking my prettiest, but I am healing every day and my fur will grow back good as new!My foster mom says the family that gets to live with me forever will be a very lucky family. I'm the best girl ever!BDRA has voted against the use of electrical fencing effective immediately.

Story
Meet Giuseppe! Giuseppe is one of Alma and Bess’s precious pups, lovingly known as one of the “Fluffers.” This sweet litter had a rough start after being surrendered from a backyard breeding/hoarding situation and landing in the shelter. Seeing these babies on cold concrete was heartbreaking, so they came into foster care where they could finally be safe, warm, and loved. They weren’t in the best condition at first, but with care, they began to thrive. Then, unexpectedly, they came down with parvo. Giuseppe and his siblings were rushed to the emergency vet late at night, where they received antibodies and supportive medical treatment. And boy, did they recover! Now Giuseppe is a happy, feisty, bouncy little scruffy wonder with a big personality and an even bigger brain. Scruffy black and white little guy Lovingly called “Professor” Super smart and always trying to figure something out Fully vaccinated and neutered Great around dogs of all sizes Great around cats Eating Retriever puppy food and does well eating with the group Crated at night and during the day as needed Doing well with leash training Potty training is going well Lower grooming needs than some of his fluffier siblings May just need the hair around his eyes trimmed as he grows Curious, clever, and full of personality Giuseppe is the thinker of the group. He has figured out how to get out of single-latch crates and even how to get the bottom tray out of his crate. He is not defiant — he is just smart in that “let me figure this out” kind of way. This little guy’s brain is always working. Because Giuseppe is so intelligent, he would be amazing with someone who wants to train, teach, and engage with their dog. He would love a home that gives him things to learn, safe puzzles to solve, and a routine that helps him use that big brain in the best way. His moms are both right around 20 pounds, so Giuseppe is expected to stay on the smaller side. He is 15 weeks currently and weighs 8.6lbs. He is scruffy, adorable, smart, and ready to become someone’s loyal little sidekick. If you are needing a little professor in your life, Giuseppe is your man!  His $550 adoption fee covers medical up to adoption to include medical, neuter, microchip, foster care and transportation from Louisiana to NY.  He is currently in Louisiana. ##2727346##

Meet Anna-Beth! Anna-Beth is one of Alma and Bess’s precious pups, lovingly known as one of the “Fluffers.” This litter had a rough start after being surrendered from a backyard breeding/hoarding situation and ending up in the shelter. Seeing them on cold concrete was heartbreaking, so into foster care they went. They were not in the best condition at first, but with love and care they started to thrive. Then, unexpectedly, they came down with parvo. Anna-Beth and her siblings were rushed to the emergency vet late at night, where they received antibodies and supportive medical treatment. And recover they did! Now Anna-Beth is healthy, happy, opinionated, and ready for a home that understands a strong little lady. Scruffy light orange little girl One of only three girls in the litter The boss of the group Has zero tolerance for puppy nonsense Loves people and would rather be in a lap or hanging with her humans Good with most dogs, but she likes things done her way Good with cats Fully vaccinated and spayed Eating Retriever puppy food Working on her group eating skills because sharing is not her favorite Crated at night and during the day as needed Doing well with leash training Potty training is going well Barks when she has a reason Scruffy and lower maintenance than some of her fluffier siblings May need the hair around her eyes trimmed so it does not bother her Anna-Beth may be small, but she is not here to be pushed around. She is definitely the boss and will put the others in their place fast if they get out of line. She likes playing, but by her rules and on her terms. With people, Anna-Beth is a sweetheart. A lap, a person to follow, or a spot near her humans is where she would rather be. She has a strong personality, but she also has a loving side that makes her hard not to adore. She is the most stubborn pup in the group, so she will need a family willing to give her structure, patience, and consistent training. Routine really helps her thrive. She is smart, determined, and will do best with someone who can lovingly guide her without letting her run the whole house. Her moms are both right around 20 pounds, so Anna-Beth is expected to stay on the smaller side. She is 16 weeks and weights 9.2 lbs. She is scruffy, sweet, stubborn, and full of personality. If you’re looking for a stubborn sweetheart, this lady is your girl.  Her $550 adoption fee will cover medical care up to adoption to include vaccines, spay, microchip, foster care and transportation from Louisiana to NY.  She is currently in Louisiana. ##2727354##

Meet August! August is one of Alma and Bess’s precious pups, lovingly known as one of the “Fluffers.” This sweet litter had a rough start after being surrendered from a backyard breeding/hoarding situation and landing in the shelter. Seeing these babies on cold concrete was heartbreaking, so they came into foster care where they could finally be safe, warm, and loved. They weren’t in the best condition at first, but with care, they began to thrive. Then, unexpectedly, they came down with parvo. August and his siblings were rushed to the emergency vet late at night, where they received antibodies and supportive medical treatment. And boy, did they recover! Now August is a happy, bouncy, fluffy little guy with so much life ahead of him. Black and white and extra fluffy Fully vaccinated, neutered, and microchipped Great with dogs of all sizes, though he prefers respectful bigger dogs Great around cats Playful, bouncy, and sweet Loves to observe the world and soak everything in One of the calmer pups in the litter Very cuddly and affectionate Often called the gentleman of the group Will need regular grooming to keep him clean, comfortable, and looking dapper Learning leash skills Potty training is going well Crated at night and during the day as needed Getting cleaner in his crate every day Eating Retriever puppy food and does well eating with the group Not a big barker and usually only speaks up when he needs something August is a sweet little gentleman with a playful side and a soft, cuddly heart. He rarely starts trouble, but he will stand up for himself if another puppy ambushes him. Most of the time, he is happy to play, observe, cuddle, and be his handsome fluffy self. His moms are both right around 20 pounds, so August is expected to stay on the smaller side. He is 16 weeks right now and weighs 11.4 lbs.
