Story
Meet Buddy – your very own ray of eternal sunshineAt 12 years young and 39 pounds, Buddy is a happy-go-lucky Cocker Spaniel mix with a heart full of love and a tail that never seems to stop wagging. He joined us from a nearby shelter and is ready to trade shelter life for a comfy couch, leisurely strolls, and a family to call his own.Buddy is a special guy because he`s blind. While he can detect some light, he mostly relies on his other amazing senses—and you! He happily follows the sound of your voice on walks and is wonderful on a leash. Need to navigate a curb or a bump? Buddy is more than happy to let you gently guide him along. He`s proof that you don`t need perfect eyesight to enjoy life`s adventures.Speaking of adventures... Buddy has a small goal: achieving his `beach body` before summer waves goodbye. A few extra walks and a little exercise will help him slim down, and he`s more than willing to make that journey with you. Every walk is another chance to sniff the world, hear the birds, and spend time with his favorite person.Buddy doesn`t ask for much in life. He just wants someone to love him. In return, he`ll reward you with endless devotion, a cheerful spirit, and the kind of companionship only a grateful senior dog can give. He`s shown great potential with other dogs, but as always, a meet-and-greet is required to ensure everyone gets along. Compatibility with cats and young children is unknown, so older children are preferred. Because Buddy navigates the world differently, experience with blind dogs would be a wonderful bonus. A fenced in yard is also preferred. Buddy is available through our Foster-to-Adopt Program, which means you can welcome him home now while he completes his vetting with the shelter. He`ll receive his vaccines, microchip, neuter surgery, and everything he needs to begin his new life safe, healthy, and loved. If you`re ready to add your own personal ray of eternal sunshine to your family, please email dogadoptions@parmashelter.org and submit an online dog adoption application for Buddy. Buddy`s adoption fee is $85. Sometimes the sweetest new beginning comes with a gray muzzle and a wagging tail.

Story
Beau is fostered in Mentor Oh and his adoption fee/donation is 150 Hi there, my name is B0-Bo, and I am a 12-13 yr old cocker spaniel boy. We are just guestimating his age per our vet, because we don’t know his history. He was originally found as a stray, so we can only do our best at telling his correct number in years. One thing we do know, is that he was not properly cared for most of his life. His ear canals are hardened, and closed up from such horrific infection. Our vet worked on his ears for months to finally get them free of infection. He is completely DEAF from the un-treated ear infections. He actually would do best if he could get the TECA surgery, however we have already spent thousands to get him cleared up. The cost of surgery for both ears is $5,000, and we tried to raise the funds to get it done, however we were unable to do it. We were able to get $1500 raised, and used it to treat the ears for the months it took to get them cleared. The problem with not getting the TECA surgery (REMOVING HIS EAR CANALS) done is that with closed canals, his infections can easily come back, and will continue to do so in the future. We are currently flushing his ears daily with Liquid Health K9 ear cleansing solution, and so far, he is still infection free, but we have to be very consistent with daily flushing. BoBo is such a happy go lucky dog, he lives for his ball, and will wear out your arm from throwing it to him all day if you let him. He is affectionate and loving, and enjoys spending time with his person. BoBo is also on thyroid medication, he was very overweight when we took him in, and found out he is hypo-thyroid. A few months on the meds and he lost all the excess weight. We would LOVE to find a retirement home for this boy, he is so good, and deserves to be loved and cared for. BoBo is neutered and up to date on vaccinations, as well as heartworm negative. If you would like to adopt Beau or would like more information on him, please fill out an adoption application We do not have a shelter, all rescues are in foster homes - Dogs are not shown without first being approved to adopt. Story
Adopted from the Cleveland APL 12 years ago. Has been spayed by the APL and microchipped. Has some hearing loss, very lazy and she loves to sleep. She is cat friendly but dog selective. She is great around kids older than 10. She is a senior girl at 12 years young. She has no food aggression or any aggression at all. She is very treat motivated. Has had a few ear infections, and a fatty deposit under her left arm. She loves plush squeaker toys and bones. She is a huge cuddle bug. She can be vocal at times. Completely housebroken and crate trained. She knows how to sit, stay, lay down, and paw. Because she is a senior, I’m hoping to find a calm environment for her. She will have her bed, her treats, and all her toys with her. We just want her to be loved and safe.
