Story
Zuko is a lovable young Cocker Spaniel/Poodle mix with a gentle heart and a sweet, easygoing nature. Hes the kind of dog who bonds quickly, happily settling at your feet and soaking up praisehis favorite reward. This handsome boy has great house manners and is already house, crate, and leash trained. While he may take a few minutes to settle into his crate, he sleeps soundly through the night once relaxed. Hes respectful in the home, listens well, and responds immediately when redirectedan absolute pleasure to live with. Zuko is a grazer when it comes to meals, happily nibbling throughout the day and even sharing space (and food!) with feline friends. He enjoys treats but is especially motivated by kind words and affection. He does have a couple of endearing quirkslike moving kibble onto the floor before eating and keeping a close eye on his favorite toys. Out on walks, Zuko does beautifully on leash and rarely pulls. He can be a bit cautious with new sights, sounds, or unfamiliar dogs, but he looks to his person for reassurance and responds well to gentle guidance. He has shown he can form lovely friendships with other dogs, especially calm companions. Zuko is wonderful with men, women, respectful children, and other animals. He may bark at noises or unfamiliar activity, so he would be happiest in a house rather than an apartment setting. At his core, Zuko is a submissive, affectionate boy with so much love to give. With a little understanding and a lot of kindness, hell be a deeply devoted companiontruly lovable with a capital L.   Our adoption fees cover all up to date veterinary needs, including but not limited to: full veterinary examination, age appropriate vaccinations, fecal test and parasite prevention, wellness bloodwork, spay or neuter, and microchip. All dogs will be started on a 6 week trial of pet insurance after adoption. Local adopters can take advantage of 50% off a training course at RuffHaus in Barrie (www.ruffhaus.ca) and all adopters will also be signed up for Petcademy to offer 30 days of free text-based behavioural support.
