**IF THIS LISTING IS STILL POSTED THIS DOG IS STILL AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION. NO NEED TO EMAIL ASKING IF THE DOG IS AVAILABLE. PLEASE READ THROUGH THIS BIO THOROUGHLY AS INFORMATION ON HOW TO APPLY IS CONTAINED IN THIS LISTING** For Adoption: Rosey Posey! Please read our dog bios carefully to be sure that the dog you are applying for suits your family and lifestyle. We at PDR believe in the benefits of post-adoption training for our dogs and their families. This allows for continued socialization, learning and helps to create a well-mannered and balanced dog. Post-adoption training is a requirement in our adoption process. To apply for adoption and for more information on our process and requirements, visit our website at https://pounddog.ca/adoption-info/. Rosey Posey is a 4-1/2 year old Cocker Spaniel with a soft, golden coat, expressive eyes, and an absolutely adorable face that quickly wins hearts. Rosey is a petite girl who weighs 9 kg . She has a gentle presence and a sweet, sensitive personality. Her name suits her perfectly—she is a delicate and lovely little dog who is slowly blossoming with patience and care. Rosey Posey came from a breeding mill situation. She had no exposure at all to the outside world prior to coming into rescue. As such, she requires ample patience and care. She shows signs of being afraid to be picked up, as she was mishandled in the mill. She will seek love and attention if we are sitting in a neutral stance, and if her foster brother approaches us first. As with all mill dogs, confidence gaining is a slow progression; she is already much more brave than when we got her and will continue to blossom with further exposure to the world around her and with love and compassion. Rosey Posey would do well in a calm and quiet adult only home. Noises and quick movements startle her. She seems very interested in children, maybe because they are smaller and less threatening, and could do well with visiting children while properly supervised, but a home with children will be too busy and noisy for her at this time. Gentle teens would be fine for her as well. In the home, Rosey Posey can go up and down stairs no problem. She likes walks on leash, but still checks behind her and keeps an eye on you as she walks. She had never been on a walk before rescue so there is a lot to take in. She currently gets a 30 minute walk daily at minimum. She is a moderate energy dog and her exercise needs can be met with daily walks and yard time One of Rosey Posey's most endearing qualities is the way she slowly melts into affection once she feels safe. She enjoys the companionship of her calm foster brother, and seems more secure when he is around. She would fare best with another dog in the home, but could be the only dog as long as her people are experienced with timid dogs and know that it will take longer for her to be brave in new situations if she doesn't have a canine role model to pattern off of. Rosey Posey has a beautiful coat that will require regular grooming and brushing to keep her comfortable and healthy. She can handle fur brushing, although runs away when done. Her breed of dog will need a few visits to the professional groomer as well and she will require a groomer very skilled with mill dogs who will take things slow and not scare her. She is currently learning her house-training routine and is becoming more accustomed to going outside for bathroom breaks. Rosey hasn't signalled the need to go outside yet, and has had a few accidents in the house if she isn't being carefully supervised. She needs to be taken out many times as you would a puppy, and crated if she isn't being watched. On her crate schedule (going outside immediately after crate time) she is more successful with house-training. Rosey Posey doesn't seek out her crate but when she is in she settles easily and benefits greatly from having a predictable, quiet place of her own. The crate has been an invaluable tool in helping Rosey Posey adjust to home life and build confidence at her own pace. She is crated during the day while at work, and at night when sleeping. She continues to make steady progress with everyday experiences and will thrive with adopters who celebrate small but meaningful victories. Rosey Posey does well in the car when crated. She is quiet and settles. She loves her foster brother, and has found comfort in following his lead. She enjoys meeting dogs on a walk, and is not reactive. She hasn't noticed squirrel friends yet. Rosey Posey is currently learning the basics of living in a home environment, including house training, routine handling, and confidence-building exercises. She is making progress every day and responds best to patience, consistency, and positive reinforcement. Continued training and gentle exposure to new experiences will help Rosie become a more confident and comfortable companion. She is not suited to a first time dog owner, but will do well with those with experience in training a dog and can work with her to build her skills and confidence. Rosey has received all the necessary veterinary care and is continuing her transition into a healthy family pet. She has been assessed by a veterinarian and is in good health. Despite her nervousness, she has handled veterinary visits well. At this time, her primary needs are continued emotional support, routine veterinary care, and ongoing ear care which is common for her breed. We discovered she is allergic to certain vaccinations, so an anti-histimine protocol would be necessary with any further vaccinations. Rosey Posey also has a faint heart murmur, which is common for her breed. Rosey Posey is a truly special little dog who is looking for a patient and loving forever home that will allow her to continue blossoming at her own pace. She will do best in a calm household with a predictable routine, gentle handling, and ideally another friendly dog to help guide her. While she may not be the dog who immediately runs up to greet strangers, Rosey Posey offers something incredibly rewarding: the chance to earn the trust and love of a dog who has overcome a difficult beginning. Watching Rosey Posey relax into a soft bed, lean in for quiet pets, and slowly discover that people can be kind is a privilege—and the family who gives her that chance will be rewarded with a deeply loyal and loving companion. Story
Meet Misty Misty is an approximately 4-year-old, 10kg (~22lb) cocker spaniel with a quiet way about her. After a difficult start in a puppy mill, she is ready for a brighter future filled with soft places to rest, space to explore, and people who will let her settle in at her own pace. Misty is a sensitive dog who is still learning that people can be safe and predictable. She would do best in an adult home in a rural or small town setting where life moves a little slower. Busy neighbourhoods, and the hustle and bustle of city life can feel overwhelming. Given time and patience, Misty begins to seek connection in her own way, leaning into chest scratches, enjoying brushing, and relaxing beside someone she trusts. Outdoors is where Misty shines. A secure fenced yard is important for her, as she loves sniffing, sunbathing, and stretching her legs. She will play with other dogs and enjoys games of chase. Quiet country roads, trails, and fields are her favourite spaces to go for walks. A quiet shady spot in the garden is her favourite way to spend an afternoon. Misty has done very well with housetraining and has only had a couple of accidents in the house, occurring when her routine was disrupted. She does best with consistency and predictability to help set her up for success. She settles nicely when left alone, and travels well in the car. She has also impressed her veterinary team, happily accepting treats during exams and showing a gentle nature. She is currently being treated for an ear infection and will need ongoing ear care. She is not cat tested, but enjoys chasing squirrels and rabbits in the garden. Misty is looking for a patient home that understands trust takes time. In return, she offers quiet companionship and the joy of watching a dog discover comfort, safety, and happiness at her own pace. Misty is being fostered in the London Ontario area. Adopters with a resident dog would need to do a dog meet and greet prior to adoption.  For those interested in adopting one of our puppy mill release dogs, please be aware that these dogs often require extra patience, structure, and ongoing support. Their temperaments and behaviours can vary widely, and for the best outcome, adoptive homes MUST have access to a fully fenced yard and understand that rehabilitation is a gradual process. Many of these dogs have not yet experienced living in a home, regular interaction with people, leash walking, housetraining, or even having a name. All of these new people, environments, and activities can be scary for them and many are flight risks while they adjust.  Leash walks may not even be a safe option for them initially which is why having access to their own fenced yard is essential.  They need a patient adopter who can meet them at their comfort level and gently help them learn how to be a companion animal.   Due to time constraints, we cannot respond to every email asking for more information on a dog. Please carefully review the bio for the dog and our adoption process https://www.speakingofdogs.com/adoption/adoption-process/.  If you are still interested in adopting, please fill out the adoption application form at the bottom of that page. 🐶 Looking for a New Family for Lego 📍 Location: New York Lego was adopted as a young puppy but was sadly surrendered by his owner after three years. He grew up in an unstable environment with frequent travel back and forth to Boston, which made it difficult for him to form a secure attachment with his guardian. Because of this instability, in moments of fear, panic, or overwhelming stress, he has shown a few defensive or warning bites Lego needs a family who can meet him in person, understand his behavior clearly, and provide the consistent, reassuring environment he needs. City life is simply too overwhelming for him. With a quiet environment and a patient, steady guardian, Lego has every chance to continue improving and becoming more stable. The greatest hope is for Lego to find a peaceful home where he can finally rest. 📌 Basic Information Name: Lego Age: 4 years Gender: Male Weight: 25 lbs Breed: Jindo × Cocker Spaniel mix Color: Brown & White 🐾 Personality & Behavior People: Very fearful/reactive toward new people, warms up more easily to shorter women Children: Not recommended Other Dogs: Best as the only dog Shows resource guarding around food; must be fed separately Cats: Unknown Potty Trained: Yes Crate Trained: No Energy Level: High Touch/Handling: Uncomfortable with physical contact Barking: Quiet when alone; barks at doorbells or hallway noises when someone is home Escape Tendencies: None — manageable with “sit” and “wait” Walking: Martingale collar recommended; pulls with a harness Car Rides: Nervous initially, settles on longer rides Yard: Ideal, but a quiet neighborhood is also fine Living with Other Dogs: Not suitable 🔎 What Lego Needs Lego has fear-based reactivity. His current guardian has invested significant time, training, and management, and he has shown meaningful progress. However, Lego needs: A guardian experienced with reactive or anxious dogs A consistent daily routine A calm environment with low stimulation 🧡 Please Consider Becoming Lego’s Family Once he bonds, Lego is goofy, affectionate, and deeply loyal. He is waiting for a forever family who can provide the quiet suburban environment where he can truly thrive.

Story
QUICK FACTS Name: Schubert Age: About 1 Year Old Gender: Female (Spayed) Breed: Cocker Spaniel – Spitz Mix Color: Black Weight: 10kg / 22lbs Microchipped, Fully Vaccinated Up to Date, Dewormed   MY RESCUE STORY I was rescued from the euthanasia list at a municipal shelter, and that moment gave me a precious second chance at life. Thanks to the kindness and compassion of the people who stepped in to help me, I was able to leave my past behind and begin looking toward a brighter future. Now I'm excited to find a loving forever family and start the next chapter of my journey, filled with love, happiness, and new adventures.   MY HEALTH All vaccinations up-to-date Spayed & healthy with no known health issues   MY PERSONALITY Hi, I'm Schubert! I'm a gentle, sensitive soul who just needs a little extra time to feel safe. When I first arrived at the shelter, I was so frightened that I would do everything I could to avoid people. It seemed like trusting humans might always be difficult for me, but with patience, kindness, and love, my world slowly began to change. I formed a special bond with one caregiver, and from there, my confidence started to grow. More recently, I've made wonderful progress learning that people can be kind and the world can be a safe place. Once I know and trust you, I become the sweetest little shadow. I'll happily follow you wherever you go, nuzzle my face between your legs, and soak up every bit of affection you have to offer. I get along peacefully with other dogs and enjoy being part of the group, even if I'm not the type to join every playful wrestling match. I still need a patient family who understands that trust isn't something I give away right away—but once you've earned it, you'll have an incredibly loyal, loving companion for life. Watching me blossom from a shy little girl into a confident best friend is one of the most rewarding journeys you could ever share, and I can't wait to find the person who's willing to take that journey with me.   MY SOCIAL SKILLS · With People: I can be quite cautious when meeting new people and usually need a few days to a week before I feel completely comfortable. Once I realize I'm safe, I form deep bonds and love being close to my people. I tend to warm up to women more quickly, while men can seem a little intimidating at first, so I appreciate gentle introductions and a little extra patience. Sudden movements or loud squeals can make me feel uneasy, so I'd do best in a calm home with respectful older children or adults. I'm comfortable being gently picked up, and once we've become friends, I'll happily roll over and show you my belly—a special sign that I trust you completely. · With Dogs: I'm friendly and polite with other dogs and enjoy walking over to say hello when we meet. While I'm not usually the type to jump into playtime, I'm happy to peacefully coexist and appreciate the company of other dogs. Even if another dog tries to provoke me, I'd much rather walk away and avoid conflict, preferring peace and harmony whenever I can. · With Cats: My reaction to cats is unknown   ENERGY LEVEL & ACTIVITY I have moderate energy – I have a balanced energy level and enjoy spending time outdoors exploring and going for walks. After I've had some exercise and fresh air, I'm happy to settle down and relax by your side. I'm an experienced walker with excellent leash manners, so I stay close to my person, walk without pulling, and naturally enjoy following wherever our adventures take us.   TRAINING & HABITS I'm easygoing when it comes to mealtime and don't feel the need to guard my food from people or other dogs. When I see unfamiliar people, I may bark at first because I'm letting you know I'm feeling a little unsure, but with calm introductions and a little patience, I quickly become more comfortable. I'm calm and relaxed in my kennel I'm flexible with my potty habits, happily using both indoor pee pads and going outside for bathroom breaks.   MY IDEAL HOME I’m searching for a patient, loving family who can help me become the best version of myself. I’ll thrive in a home with: A family that will provide me with a safe haven – where I can decompress, be myself in a stable environment A family that understands my past and is patient with me throughout A family that enjoys indoor and outdoor time together A family that will love and cherish me forever   SPECIAL NOTES I tend to feel more comfortable around women and usually warm up to them quickly. Men can seem a little intimidating to me at first, so I may need some extra time, patience, and gentle introductions before I feel safe. Once I learn that I can trust you, I form deep, loyal bonds and love being close to my people.    SCHUBERT'S YOUTUBE PLAYLIST   Apply to foster or adopt: https://www.welcomedogkorea.org For Inquiries: info@welcomedogkorea.com ##2787541##
