Story
My family and I acquired Reese at a pet store about 2 years ago, he had been at the pet store for a few months before bringing him home with us. Reese turned 2 years old this year this past March and loves anyone he becomes attached to. I would really love someone who has the patience for Reese. It takes a minute for Reese to get used to people due to how skittish he is but once he gets to learn you and familiarize himself with you he is attached. That is why it’s hard for me to give him up because not only has he become attached to my family and I but we have become attached to him too. So it would be really appreciated if someone who has the love, time, patience and care for animals in general would accept Reese into his new home.

Story
Comet is a cocker spaniel born May 16th 2016. He belonged to my mother who recently passed away and I'm unfortunately unable to keep him due to finances and the fact that he doesn't get along with my dogs. Comet is a sweet and very playful dog who is toy-obsessed and loves lap cuddles. He's a dog who wants to be by your side at all times. He's prone to ear infections and allergy related skin issues so he's on a prescription diet to help with that. Comet injured his back legs playing a few years ago so he takes an anti-inflammatory as needed because his legs can get a bit sore and stiff when it's cold or if he runs for too long. He lacks socialization with small children and other animals like cats so it's unclear how he'd react to them and he needs basic behavioral training but is eager to please and would do well with an experienced and patient owner that has the resources and extra time needed to train him properly.

Story
Dakota’s foster mom says — Dakota is a chocolate, fluffy, super-soft cocker spaniel mix who is around 5 years old. He is neutered and up to date on shots. He is a happy boy who enjoys walks, cuddling, and playing with his favorite squeakey toy, which we call his baby. He is getting better with potty training, but still needs some continued work to ensure there are no accidents in the home. Dakota will require a diet of wet food mixed with some dry, and he weighs around 30 pounds. We have been working with a trainer to help him with his attachment issues. He will require a companion who is home often because he gets anxious when left alone. He does not do well in a crate, so I just limit him to my living room and kitchen area while I am gone, and he has done well. I would also not recommend him around younger children, and he should be the only dog in the home. A little more information from Dakota’s trainer — This sweet little 5-year-old bundle of chocolate fluff had a tough start. Lots and lots of time in a kennel meant he gnawed his little teeth down trying to get out. Since being with his foster we’ve not put him back in a kennel. Potty training has gone well, but he does have an occasional accident. His new home should be with an experienced dog owner, as he tends to get clingy. An owner who is either retired or works from home would be ideal. His insecurities mean that he doesn’t do well with other dogs. He has done well with groups up to 20 people and with children as young as toddlers. Daily walks will only continue to increase his confidence. He is an excellent walker and car rider. Dakota deserves a life of love, walks, cuddles, and puppy treats! Story
Gizmo is ready to find his furever home! Gizmo is about 4 years old. He’s a spunky quirky cocker spaniel. Let’s get this little turkey a home for the holidays! Gizmo would thrive best in a home where he can play fetch (he’s a professional), lounge around on the couch with you, or just chill out and be lazy. He needs a home without high traffic and unfortunately no children. He has been cat tested and approved as well as dog tested! He loves his dog friends but prefers dogs that he can just co exist with. He isn’t much into being too wild with them. He’s crate trained and house trained and has been working through a basic obedience program. If you’re pre-approved to adopt, reach out to set up a meet and greet. To apply, visit RussellRescueTN.comTo donate to Gizmo’s board and train, use one of the links here: https://linktr.ee/russellrescuetn or the donate button below. We have a  4 year old Cocker Spaniel, Gizmo, that came in as a stray. He is microchipped, however we have not been able to get ahold of or find his owners. Gizmo has been a little wishy washy at the shelter and needs a home where he can chill and gains some confidence back. Perfectly understandable that humans may not be his go too for a while. He has been neutered, UTD on vaccines (Rabies, DA2PPv, Bordetella), given Frontline, and tested negative for Heartworms. He weighs 26 Lbs. Needs and adopter or foster. Can someone show This guy that humans are not all jerks!Russellrescuetn@gmail.comAvailable dogs are met by appointment only and pre-approved adopters ONLY.Our dogs are currently in a foster homes which can answer your questions better than anyone else. We promise our fosters that we will qualify all potential adopters before we ask them to communicate with potential adopters. The application is the first step. Pleae complete the adoption (or foster) application here: https://www.russellrescuetn.com/application-for-adoption/You will be contacted if further information is needed. We are 100% volunteer powered.
